I don't think Sabrina dolls is his partner, though I could be wrong. I think she just commissioned some doll heads from him, and sold the excess. But maybe something grew out of that???

 

I really don't know for sure. When I asked him if he would continue making BJDs his reply was:

"My partner will be making BJD"
"Ooh, that makes me a bit sad. Who is your partner?", I replied to him
"The woman who painted sample"

And then... nothing else XD. Of course we have a big language barrier (I am Spanish, and his English isn't very good); but for what I understand... some one who paints BJDs is going to make BJDs in his behalf. At first I thought he meant she would sculpt and sell them herself (like Sarina in Oasisdoll, who was his pupil and definitely has a very similar style), but for what I see of this Sabrina Doll, it seems he designs them and she sells them.

Anyway, I hope he will reply again and tell me how their collaboration works... if she is some kind of "official" seller for his dolls, I will be happy.

Well, the lady that painted his dolls for the business is known as Opaleighty on instagram. I think Sabrinadolls simply commissioned him for a remake of his long-ago elfdoll Vivian, which turned into Veronica, then decided that it went well and did another. I could be wrong of course, but if you want to sleuth it out (keep investigating) there is a bit more information for you . I would think someone he would give access to his business to, by calling them partner would be someone closer to him. I would suspect a family member, or yes, a beloved student?

As you can see, I have a propensity toward trying to guess what is going on and people's motivations, ROFL. So if you discover more information, please do share

 

Oh! I will follow her too! But for what I see, there has been no movement in her account since Renee.

To be honest for me partner has the same meaning than for you, but maybe Rainman considers it just as someone who partners with him in the businness? No idea. The thing is Sabrina has released (or is about to release) so far 3 collaborations with Rainman (Veronica, Rosie and Imani) during this year and this seems to set a trend I guess.

I'm still waiting for a reply from him. And sure, I will keep you informed!!!

 

I really do hope that the dolls he sculpted so far will be made available in some way...I fell hopelessly in love with July, and would LOVE to get my hands on her (including that lovely body he made for the girls), but unfortunately I discovered her existence only after she became sold out

Yes, “Sabrina” or Alyona from Russia is Rainman’s partner in doll making. Amazing lady to deal with.

Is there anybody with Rainman head in tan? My Tsunaina head is tan and she is still without body.
Possibilities: Dollstown 17y (copper oriental ???), FantasiaDoll (if there is tan color option) or Rainman body (if there will be group order via Sabrinas). Any suggestion about tan colors matching?
My Kira is Iplehouse SID (with neck modding). My idea for Tsunaina was DollShe 26F, but body is in fresh/normal so I was thinking of coloring it.

 

Oh, I thought that was Veronica, LOL, but now I can see she is different! So pretty! So are the bodies also available to order from Sabrina Dolls? That would make me very happy Thank you @susana789 and @cureilona

Hm, I hope we see releases from somewhere. Rainman's sculpts are very lovely and I was really enjoying the direction he was taking with them.

Well, I was also dropping in because I am making very sloooooooow progress on my July head. Hehe. And so a quick photo (because I was feeling glum about another doll, but this was so lovely that I'm cheering myself up with it).

Oh cool, your July will be a boy?! My July, Veronica and Anna heads are floating and driving me nuts! I want to get bodies so badly for them, but then I went coocoo over Fairyland's F65 Ingrid then Medusa, and on top of that panic bought a retired minifee, so Fairyland has my money and my ire! UGH

Well, like you...if I can find the right body match. Right now he remains a floating head. But now with pretty eyes!

 

@Lady Ravenswood I recently ordered a ResinSoul 72cm body for a DFA head. He doesn't seem too lanky for a RS body and there is a fantastic review on youtube on it. It is nice and inexpensive, and pretty good doll body that might work?? I'm just thinking that the neck might be the right size, but it does kind of jut forward IMO, still it's an interesting body to me

Since he's the younger version of a doll/character I also have it's a balance to find a body that looks like it will grow up to be the older doll. Hehe.

 

Yah, It's hard to find just the right thing, especially when you can't actually hold them in your hands I don't have many boys unfortunately. In fact I just have one style of boy in SD size so nohelp there

 

I will ask Alyona. I think the bodies might be available as well.

 

If I’m not mistaken, those bodies fit very well and also Dollstown 17 years-old and Dollshe SD body. And of course, the artist’s own sculpted SD body.

 

OK, so I have some new info:

In January, Opal, Rainman’s girlfriend, will release his sculpts under a new brand name. Bodies might be available as well. We shall see.
