I have 12 mm eyes in my July.

 

Oh yah, @TatterPunk , the thing about Rainman's sculpts that I've noticed is that you can't fit anything over 12mm in the sockets. I have 14 with small iris that would work, but they won't fit in the hole

Also, R&R is allowing me to make an order with a payment arrangement, so I guess I'll be ordering July's sleeping head. Unfortunately, I'm also wanting to purchase Rene now

But I don't want to be on the hook for another body, so no No NO!

I just ordered a July head in tan skin... I hope my hybridation idea will work, tho!
Now the wait begins...

I can't find the post where Rainman explains that Rene is modeled after a famous painter's muse. Does anyone know who the painter was? Oh, I found it

 

dark_angel, congratulation, especially for tan version. And please, share your hybrid.
I have Su in tan and I didnt find a suitable body for her, yet.
I originally want to put Su on DollShe 26F but body is little bit damaged and yellowed fresh. I like proportions because SU head is bigger than Kira and Blina, Never do doll coloring before so still thinking about it.
And I dont know if DollShe/Dollstown copper oriental is close shade of color.
Do you know some color marches and share it, please?

 

What iris size do you have? I have about a million 12/5 eyes lying around, but if I need a different iris to be realistic, I will either have to make some new ones, or order some.

Rene is super gorgeous. I almost decided to get her. . . but July was my first choice so I decided not to. Though. . . I do have till the end of the month to change my mind >__>.

I will try to hybrid this beautiful face with a Twigling body. I had one it in tan skin, flat chest, long bust, and short legs. It’s a really beautiful and well balanced body. Hopefully it will work. I might need to thin the neck a little, but nothing too drastic.

 

dark_angel, super choice for such e delicate head as July, I think this will be really fine looking hybrid, so I am eagerly waiting photo-update.

 

@dark_angel , July does have a larger neck so it's probably OK. They just have small hook slots

@TatterPunk , July's eys are a bit bigger, so you could probably use normal size 12 in them and it'd look OK. Super small ones will make her look shocked, LOL (someone posted their July earlier in this thread with small irises, and they looked shocked, LOL) But I have a pair of 12 small iris from Impldoll in mine (they are fantasy color, and I'll replace them eventually as my July is human) and I think they look good. Some eye makers like BlueberryStyle make super small irises, which can be too small depending on the sculpt?? Here is mine, though she doesn't have a body yet



Also, she is blushed to match Impldoll's real skin the darker, LOL. I want her to look more ethereal, and will wipe her faceup and make it white like her resin in the future when I finally get her a body

 

How do I order through them? I am wanting a Rene did I miss out?? I’m so confused because the Instagram directs me to a miniature store? Help haha

Also I’ve seen a few Dollshe/rainmanking hybrids. I am wondering if the copper oriental matches the rainmanking tan? Or what matches what if anyone knows?

 

Speaking of hybrids, I'm curious how July's head would look on a Dollshe 16f body. I've seen Kira (who works decently) on one, and Su (not such a good hybrid there) . . but if anyone happens to be able to do that combo I'd love to see. If not, I guess I'll be figuring it out at once my July heads arrive. . .

 

Did someone tried the Dollstown SD17 girl body?
I know the body had issues standing but it’s a really pretty one, IMO.

I have July and the 16F body. They wouldn't match color wise, but I can try it out for you if no one else has it. Might just take me a few days to be able to try it out.

 

One thing @dark_angel didn't mention is that the order period is only until January 31st

I think I've seen Blina and Kira on the dollshe and the neck didn't go in as far, looked a little bulbus bout July, and any head after is larger necked, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it on dollshe and it looked great. Gosh, I think that was last night or recently but where??? I think it was instagram, but I can't find it

 

That would be wonderful! Color isn't a problem, I mostly want to see how the proportions are without a wig or clothes if possible. Full body and head and shoulders shots would be helpful.

Was it on the 26F body where it was bulbous? The 16F neck is a little shorter and a little thinner than the 26F neck I know (to the point where the 26F girls need a donut to look okay on the 16F body lol).

That does work indeed! Veronica doesn't look bad on it. I still would like to see the July hybrid though, since distribution of facial features is different from sculpt to sculpt obviously and definitely makes a difference. Veronica could probably use a bit of a neck donut in that picture (see what I mean about the shorter neck?)
