1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Rainman's Elfdoll Ryung as NaBee (butterfly)

Sep 7, 2005

    1. May I assume this is the same as references to "rainy"?

    2. Every BJD company has a distinct name for each their doll lines. In the case of Elfdoll, their large doll body types are called Rainy. I am sure it has something to do with the maker being Rainman. ^_<

For example, Volks makes Super Dollfies, Luts makes Delfs, Switch makes Humming Dolly, Fairyland makes Feeple. Makers also use different names for each size category. (It's a lot of info.)

Sometimes you will see people call dolls SD, SD16, MSD and the like, but those are actually Volks specific terms that get used as generic terms for all kinds of BJDs. Kind of like people will ask for a Coke as a generic for any soft drink.

    3. Ok thanks. Very helpful. This clears up some confusion I've had, particularly use of SD and MSD for sizes, which I assumed were generic terms for 1/3 and 1/4 scales respectively.
