1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Raurencio Discussion Thread - The Story of Vampire

Mar 9, 2012

    1. It's Nobility doll that did an Edward and Jacob doll. For some reason they pulled Edward, but their Jacob is available in the parts section as "wolf man"

      Guh, I liked you Raurencio Studio... *face palm*

    2. I'm not a fan, nor am I a hater... I'm not one to simply bash. Seems rather silly to throw them completely out the window because of differences in preferences, no? ^^;

      I do commend the good work they did on the sculpts, though! :) They look better than some of the Minimees I've seen :) However... I do wonder about the legal trouble too xD

    3. :doh

      I thought companies would have known better after last time.

    4. I think I missed 'last time'... what happened? ^^;

    5. All the drama when Nobility Doll tried to release their Twilight dolls, as zekarmisama said. Not to mention the obvious copyright issues and the fact that Meyer probably has more than enough money to take legal action if she finds out.

    6. Ahh okay, I never saw Nobility's take on them.

    7. Indeed, there was pretty big drama going on when Nobility came out with the same idea, and they pulled both their sculpts after a few weeks. Wolf man came back after some time though... I find it strange that these kinds of 'fan' dolls are okay if one company comes out with them (Soom's Vampire Hunter D anyone?), but get lots of hate when it comes to other companies (the two biggest I remember is the aforementioned Nobility, and Angell Studio's Angel Sanctuary dolls...they also were forced to pull the full sets)

      I don't really see how Raurencio thought this was a good idea...they have so many beautiful and original sculpts. But well, it's their business.... I just hope they don't get into trouble for it.

    8. I'm not a fan of Twilight and the actors in general but I think RS managed to capture their monotone expressions XD I so had to LOL about Bella X°D

    9. Yeah, I knew Nobility had done one as well, but for some reason I really thought the Raurencio sculpter had already done a Edward "insipred" doll as well... Oh well, I'm probably imagining it.

    10. Mitchell from "Being Human" (U.K.). A vampire who eats cold cereal while wearing fingerless gloves is just okay with me.

    11. I guess there's no way they had the rights from the author to do this? Since if they did, they'd just say "Twilight" instead of "Story of Vampire". (Plus the news of it would be everywhere...)

      I'm not a Twilight fan, but these look very well-done, and I know plenty of people who would love to have one. I too am tired of seeing Twilight references - I was even slightly put off when Peakswoods had quotes from Breaking Dawn for their Vampire Goldie. (That doll looked nothing like Bella and was in no way a Twilight rip-off, though.)

      When Ringdoll had this problem with their Grell doll ("Judges"), they were still able to eventually release him, though he was originally cancelled when people complained. (He used the same sculpt as one of their previous dolls, though.) I'm curious about what happens with these new R. Studio dolls.

    12. Disappointed.. I was hoping for something better when I saw their title... Twilight. Do. Not. Like.

      I like real vampires.

      Like Mitchell XD Or the vampires from Poppy Z Brite's novel 'Lost Souls'.

      I have to admit though, the likeness is pretty damn good that even I could tell straight off the bat.

    13. The Jacob doll does not have a very attractive face. He looks more like Disco Stu from The Simpsons. I watched the movies but really don't much care for the story. I am not big into vampires that sparkle and live on squirrel blood though I understand the teenage pining for these guys. I had a super crush on Davey Jones of the Monkees when I was a teen last century.
      The Bella doll is about as blank looking as Kristen Stewart is so at least they got that part right. I hear the lawyers drawing up the cease and desist papers as we speak.

      @Mad_Hatter ...I am with you! I like my vampires dangerous and deadly and in the dark.

    14. Maybe they could give their take on "The Hunger Games". There are some pretty off beat characters in that series that have not been done yet. I could go for some of the multicolored hair, painted and dyed people from the Capital. I might even be interested in their take on Katniss (especially since her name starts with KAT. That would probably fit into my doll family pretty good.0

    15. People got in a huff when Ringdoll put out that Grell doll.... I imagine these guys will get some flack too, unless it goes to Soom Vampire Hunter D route.

      I agree that companies need to find -other- sources of inspiriation, but in Asia they have different copywrite laws so they might not know they are doing somehting wrong (think of doujinshi manga).

    16. I'd hit that.... I mean buy that!!! I'd buy that!!! ^_^"

      And add me to the facepalming list. It just makes no sense, surely the companies have to be seeing what happens when the other companies try to do this.

    17. Sincerely i ask to myself if this is legit..i do remember that Nobility doll made dolls inspired to twilight saga and immeditaley they had to put down..no i wonder what will happens to Raurencio..

    18. ...

      Also am I the only one getting a major pedobear vibe from the pics on R's page. O_O It's creepy...

    19. :huh?: i agree sincerely..
