1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Re-using clothes and objects from other things for your BJD

Feb 12, 2006

    1. Please post pics when you can! I'm always looking for new MNF stuff. :)

    2. I found some baby pajamas at my local Goodwill that fit Sade XDD; The pants were a bit baggy but that was kinda the points since they're PJs. They have little doggies on'em XD;

    3. Groovy Girls dresses, tops, jackets, and hats fit Unoa. The bottoms don't fit though.

    4. As stated earlier, Tonner doll clothing fit most MSDs. There's actually a surprising range of fashion for the Lara Croft Tonner doll on eBay, which seems to be a perfect fit (Lara's build has a slightly larger waist and more hips).

    5. What a great topic. I've been wanting pick up some clothes and had no idea what different doll clothes they can wear so what a really big help to came to this newbie. And I already have a lot of the tonner clothes :-)

    6. I found these little shirts at Target (for $2!) that fit my SD13 Yori pretty well. They're meant for some stuffed dogs as the arm holes are located a little more back than usual, but it still works. I think the brand is something like "Woof Street Boutique".

    7. Just be careful if you're buying Kelly clothes online instead of in-person where you can eyeball the sizes -- Kelly dolls have changed sizes over the years. The orignal 4" Kelly was more Puki-sized, the new 6" Kelly is more to scale with a Lati Yellow or DollZone Pet. So if a seller isn't specifying which version of Kelly the clothes are meant for, you might end up with something a little longer/shorter than you want.

Aside from 6" Kelly stuff, I've had very good luck finding Barbie clothes that fit my DollZone fox with minimal/no alteration. Strapless mini-dresses are long gowns on her, stretchy cropped Barbie shrugs are perfect long-sleeved, waist-length jackets; anything with shoulder straps or a halter neck will need to have the straps shortened, but that's a very quick fix. And the only shoes I've found yet that fit over the DZ Pet feet are shoes made for the old Vogue Ginny dolls. I've heard from other DZ Pet owners that some Ginny and smaller Madame Alexander dresses will fit the DZ pets as well -- except for the shoes, these all might fit Lati Yellow as well since their bodies are about the same size as the DollZone Pet tinies.

For SD-size, I've found some doll hats at craft stores, meant for American Girl size dolls, that fit pretty well on a larger-headed SD girl like Iplehouse Cocori (especially if she's wearing a bulkier curly wig). Cheap doll pantyhose in the largest size from Antina's also fits my Iple girl fairly well -- the waistband comes up a little higher on her torso than it should, but it fits nicely over her legs and looks just fine under clothing. (Besides, it's not like human nylons don't sometimes fit just as oddly on those of us who are short!)

    8. Could you post some photos of front and back? I saw these and they were rather cute, but was turned off by the back-facing armholes.
      Thanks so much!

    9. The Tonner Narnia outfits fit several doll sizes!

Lucy's outfits fit DZ BBs and other dolls in the "toddler type" 10-12 inch size

Edmond and Susanne's outfits fit MSDs

And Peter's outfit fits the hard-to-fit 50 cm size PERFECTLY! Including the boots!

    10. The Ripley's Believe it or Not museum in St. Augustine had bears wearing hoodies last time we went~! They're pretty short, and you cant put the hood on her head, but I thought it was pretty cute for Newt to have her own souvenir from our trip.

    11. Hoping to see some more :)

    12. I bought a little Chinese souvenir shirt from the International day at my school.
I think it could fit beautifully on a large SD, but I only have a MSD so it fits him like a dress. xD Heheh.

      ...It was only 5$. ^__^

    13. The little 27cm Bobobies like March & Bei & Ni fit Monique 44cm/15cm shoes perfectly. The My Scene clothes also work well on them. Barbie patterns can be altered to remove the deep bust darts & enlarge the waistline just a tiny bit.

Some Betsy McCall clothes fit MSDs, especially the chubby ones. Tiny Kitty & Coquette/Cissette clothes fit Not Doll Lab Mirium & Pandora. Ant the Magic Attic clothes are great on SDs. The pants will be capris, the skirts minis but the tops are really fine.

I'm still looking for shoes for Moona, Bracken & the fat Fairies Coco & Bonbon.

    14. I bought a monkey in a hawaiian shirt that fit my MSDs perfectly. Its one of those ones with the long arms and velcro hands, for hanging off of stuff. I got him at JoAnne's. He vibrates when you press a button under his fur.

The hawaiian shirt is totally cute with some short shorts, white T, and a visor of some sort. :)

    15. I have heard American Girl clothes fit them

    16. the shirts, I know for sure fit SD boys.
      As for pants...it's been tough.
I bought my boy an American Girl outfit and only the shirt fit. the pants fell off easily and stopped a little after his knee.

    17. Does anyone know if American Girl panties happen to fit SD? I'm guessing that, aside from Volks maybe, they'd be too big.

    18. From my experience , they are too big.

    19. @Kitty

I don't have any camera at all :( (Yeah, it really complicates things...)
I used the shirts under a jumper skirt so if you scrunched the shirts up all around, it looked pretty normal. Otherwise, they are a bit backward facing, but I don't mind for $2 lol.

    20. Thanks! I went ahead and bought one, and yes, it's a little baggy, but will work with layering.
