1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Re-using clothes and objects from other things for your BJD

Feb 12, 2006

    1. What doll clothes fit BJDs but weren't made for them? I know the "freinds to be made" clothes fit MSDs

      -Jessie :)

    2. The Teen Trend doll clothes fit the MSD size.

Ann Estelle clothes fit some of the Tiny-- Dollzone & YoSD.

    3. I've seen some of the American Girl clothes fit SDs- obviously far too short( pants are about knee-length), but otherwise all right.

    4. Teen Trends also fit MSDs & some Tonner Tyler items fit the slender ones like Narae, Unoa & Alice/Sharmin. Tonner Matt clothes fit Soul Kids perfectly. A very few Cissy things will fit the 60cm girls as will a number of American Model clothes. I've also found a lot of vintage Madame Alexander 14" hard plastic doll clothes fit Narae beautifully & even have some earlier pieces of unknown manufacturers that work, especially on my Soul Kid girls.

Kish Riley clothes fit the 8" Orient Dolls perfectly. Even the shoes work with socks. Snappy, Ginny & Patsyette stuff fits Baha Kitty & the bunny. Tiny Betsy clothes fit NotDoll Lab Lucy. Barbie clothes fit Aren, Uyoo & Metel plus a few will also work on Pandora. Silkstone Ken clothes fit Kimmy.

    5. Barbie clothes fit CherishDoll tiny's. My Chubby's entire wardrobe consists of Barbie clothes. The pants and sleeves are a little long, but it's nothing a little snipping can't fix. The long sleeves actually look really cute XD

    6. We have tons of AG clothes. I didn't think to try them on my Choa. Are they too large in other areas? AGs are a lot wider in the waist and other areas. Do you have anything specific we might try. We'd love to ahve more clothes for our girl.

    7. I've found that a lot of clothing made for 18 and 20 inch porcelain dolls fit some 60 cm dolls. That made for 22 inch porcelain dolls fits quite well. I have quite a few things I have from porcelains on my girls.

    8. Some of the Pumpkin Patch (kids store) bears clothes fit SD size- I have a shinydoll Thaasa (very slim) and their new spotted cardigan & summer dress fit her...they are a bit baggy, but I like that look ;) Not sure if the pants fit (they will be too short, like capri's), I'll have to give them a go!

edit: Bought the corduroy pants which were way too big in the waist, but the elastic is easily taken in, and they look great as baggy knee length pants :)

    9. I buy mine at the dollarstore, clothing they market as "bear clothes" or "doll clothes".

My best find ever were t-shirts that were evidently supposed to hang in your car window, judging by the carboard they had inside them with a suction cup at the top (*_* ) but when you pulled out the suction-cup-cardboard thing, they were perfect SD/SD-13 t-shirts. And they had fun different colours and slogans, like "anti-social" and "alien inside" and things like that. They were basically miniturized real t-shirts.

    10. Some flat outfits for scrapbooks are sewn properly (like real clothes with sleeves that work, etc.) and someone cut the back open and fit them on 14cm Elfdoll tinies. Elfdolls cna wear Kelly shoes and Kelly clothes as blouses and Capris.

Banji can wear Mini Barbie Princess but the sleeves need to be removed or widened, and they wear Tiny Betsy shoes.

Bambicrony can wear some loose or very stretchy Barbie clothes.

Naripon and Little Gienie were Kelly Clothes.

Baically there are lots of tinies that can find a close size in commercial doll clothes.

Some AG furniture works with minis (some is too big to look right.

Re AG clothes - I think the only way AG dresses will fit an SD is if you have a seamstress make a different dress or skirt out of the fabric, or if you sell them and use the money to buy SD clothes. However, you might be able to use something like a cardigan as a loose cardigan.

You could try some of the Friends2BMade "Sweethearts" tops on an SD - the Sweethearts baby are taller but too fat for their clothes to work on minis (minis use the "Friends" clothes). It's possibly a Sweethearts top might work on an SD though it would look much shorter on an SD.

also re SD's - maybe 21" Madame Alexander Cissy clothes would fit some SD's.

    11. Magic Attic Club clothes fit SDs quite decently. The pants are much shorter than intended but the tops are more or less all right. I'd say it's a safer chance than American Girl clothes, because Magic Attic are much slimmer.

This is my Volks SD boy in a Magic Attic outfit, socks and shoes included. The shorts became *really* short, obviously XD

    12. I've only seen them on an SD boy, so I honestly don't know. ^^; I don't have an SD, myself, or I'd try for you.

    13. The larger 6" Kelly dolls can fit some Lati Yellow dolls. The shoes are HUGE but the dolls are discounted and no longer at Walmart, only at discount stores.

      Happy Hunting.

    14. Uh I didn't claim it for Shreddie but I used to have this barbie doll figure dealie of this football star and of course he was made much larger in shoulder width and such so his football jersey actually fit my MSD boy...sure it was a tiny it short but it was still pretty funny. Also my younger sister just got rid of a whole heap of plushies and I was being stupid, looking for clothes which I could possibly use for my MSD boy and it turns out that the Banana's in Pajama's pjs fit him really well lol.

    15. *laughing hysterically* That picture kind of made my day. It's just that I've been looking at really expensive, royal-looking doll clothes all day...

    16. For MSD you can also try Hopscotch Hill clothes. These were made for a doll the same size as a Teen Trends but the clothes are made for a younger girl, around 8-11 years old. My DZ mini has this really cute Halloween outfit that was made for a Hopscotch Hill doll.

For a slimer SD (like an obitsu) you can try Tonner American Model clothes or clothes made for an older fashion doll like Miss Revlon or Cissy.

The 6in Kelly clothes also fit the Bobobies/pocket fairies though there is not too much of a selection. You can also try the zapft miniworld clothes. They fit pretty well.

Also an orientdoll So size doll can wear clothes from the mini Little Apple Dolls.

    17. Elfdoll Hana can wear Only Hearts Club (including the fabric shoes that come in some sets) and some Bratz.

Obitsu 60cm can wear American Models stuff, but her boobs are a little smaller than theirs, and she's got longer legs.

    18. Always Sisters outfits fit my DD pretty well. A little loose, but good. The AS dolls are 22" tall, so the clothes are the proper length. The shoes, some fit, some don't. The workout outfit (unitard) doesn't fit well.
Some of the Hot Looks Clothes are good too. These dolls are shorter, so the strapless dresses make good skirts. They have a super cute lingere outfit that fits perfectly. The shoes don't fit at all though. I cut the tights apart and turned them into knee highs.
Both of these are from the "80's. I find them on ebay.
The Carpatina shoes fit my DD well also.
      Susan

    19. My little sister has a "Miss Hoolie" plushie from Balamory (it's a scottish childrens show) whos clothes fit my dolls perfectly, almost like they were made for them O_o;

    20. Omg the Gi joe top looks so cute on XD
