1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Re-using clothes and objects from other things for your BJD

Feb 12, 2006

    1. I have a lot of barbie clothes from when I was a kid, so some are vintage. That's why I'd like to get a tiny BJD, so that I could try them on her. I hope that works!

    2. Bratz Boyz clothing fits Cherishdoll tinies like they were made for them - only they fit better than the Cherish clothes that were made for them!

Bratz Girl clothes don't, but Barbie clothes do, so both work out...

    3. Carolyn already mentioned some things that fit tinies early in this thread, i'm just gonna write what i know about (didn't read the whole thread so i hope it wasn't mentioned yet)

Elfdoll Tinies (14cm ones) can wear Bratz Kidz clothes, not completely all things fit, pants can be a little short as in they slide down the butt when the doll sits :blush and t-shirts can be a little short but most things will fit.

plus i haven't tried it yet (others might be able to confirm?) but i think Dollhouse Miniature clothing in the scale 1/12 scale fits the Elfdoll Tinies too (again, talking about the 14cm ones like the Monnaemi sisters, Adel, Olivia and so on) and i am really excited about that, as soon as i can afford some i'll get some.
I only know one artist who makes clothing in that scale so far, she is called Heidi Ott (and funnily is swiss like me).
and i have seen such clothing on a Moona (Tiny doll by tinybear here on DoA) so it fits her too.

with Limhwa ToYou it is hit and miss but some Barbie/Fashion Fever clothing fits her.

that is all i know so far :)

    4. I have heard the tiny Cabbage Patch dolls (they are new this year) fit Lati Yellow and other 6-6.5" dolls. Does anyone have one? Haven't seen them except at Wallmart, and it is too far away to frequent - so I don't have one yet.

So far all my Ellowyne sweaters fit Narae and Sharmin, and look great on both. Will have to wait to see if my Tyler sweaters fit (haven't been knitting much lately)

      Hugs

    5. I think it's been mentioned before that the Magic Attic Clothing should fit (though be shorter on) SD size dolls. I've been comparing measurements, and clothing for Euro Girls, West Coast Kids, and Carpatina should also work, as they all share clothes among the Magic Attic dolls also. I'm gonna order a pack of 3 outfits available for the euro girls (and maybe one from the WCK) and see how those work on my Sooah (though going by the measurements it should)
      Wish me luck!
      : )

    6. Help!

I still have my Adel (Elfdoll tiny special) on layaway, so I haven't seen her in person, but I read that they can wear Lil Bratz clothing. So I bought her adoreable "dance" outfits n stuff. BUT they're SO TINY!! Will they really fit? Did I goof up? I can't imagine the doll could be so small?? My Dawn doll can't hope to fit into these dresses!! Are the Elfdoll tinies really that small?

      Thanks for info!

    7. I tried some of our 25cm and 28cm stuff on my new Narsha! She is a difficult one to dress - so skinny and tall.

The dress is ankle length on a 10 inch doll, but I did not want to leave Narsha naked so tried it on her.

And here she is wearing an 11inch size shirt and summer pants/overalls. With a straw hat and flip flops - and maybe a camera she would look like the Japanese tourists on Bali. She wore this the whole week we were in Orlando Florida. Unfortunately I did not take my camera with me so I could make no "holiday" pics of her there.

    8. I have bought quite a few baby dolls dress for my SD13.. nothing too form-fitting of course

    9. Some of the SD girls work well in Madame Alexander Cissy clothing...

    10. Oh.. and some of the smaller dolls actually wear Madame Alexander Cissette/Coquette Cissy or Tonner Tiny Kitty clothes...

    11. I have an elfdoll tiny, a catsy, and she wears the bratz kidz clothes, most of them fit perfectly on her.

      I hope this helps!

    12. OK, my set of 3 eurogirl outfits arrived, and they work pretty well for my Sooah, though the two dresses are much too short to be worn alone. One makes a great peasant style tunic and will look great with jeans (which I've just commissioned) and the denim jumper, while loose unless cinched with a belt, will look awesome with a pair of leggings (which I'm trying to find someone to commission from at the moment) The third outfit, which was a peasant blouse and pair of khaki shorts, worked great on her, though I'm afraid the shirt is baggy (naturally looking on her tho) and might need to be taken in for more slender dolls. Will provide pics when I get a chance!
As for the shoes, only a pair of white sandals fit her like they were made for her, but the tennis shoes and slippers were just too small. They'd probably work on SD's with a shorter foot though, as hers are notoriously long ; )

    13. I bought an American Girl peasant skirt with a very tight elastic-strung waist - I think it will probably fit as a hip skirt on my large-hipped minis (though I may want to re-seam it to remove some of the fullness)

      Carolyn

    14. I have used some doller store porclendoll clothing for my MSD they work great!!! >~<

    15. OK, here's a pic of the shorts and peasant blouse:
I'm pretty pleased with it, and I got it and the other 2 outfits, plus shoes, & socks all for less than $10 on ebay : P
Please forgive the bad quality pics, the lighting in my house is lacking...

    16. Yay, just ordered a bunch more stuff in this size from a company called Just Pretend that is now out of business. Yay for Ebay finds : P
Will take pics to show fit when the new stuff arrives. So far though, I'm pretty pleased with my foray into the world of 18" slim-bodied doll clothes. : )

    17. So slim 18" doll clothes fit SD? Are Elf Doll bodies similar to Dollzone?

    18. The Disney shirt ornaments at Michael's make great nightshirts for Bobobie Tinies.

Some of the bear clothing at Michael's can also fit MSDs...I have a white sweater that cost me $3 and if you position it right (neck's very large) it looks great.

Airtran were doing a credit card promotion a couple years ago and if you filled out an application they gave you a bear dressed as a pilot. The jacket doesn't fit anyone I have, but the scarf of course does, and the goggles are great for tinies.

    19. Well, Elfdoll girls are a little larger than other dolls, and I don't have any other doll to try the stuff on. It might have to be taken in a little or washed and dried for other SD's? Also, remember the stuff will always be a bit shorter. So Pants will be capris, knee length dresses will be micro minis, etc.

    20. My boy Rune is currently wearing a stylized dog t-shirt. Its an extra small one and it first fairly well. It only needed tightened a little in the back to make it fit better.
