Resinsoul and Bobobie Mini Discussion Thread - Part 33

There's a new boy available, Yuhao.

 

Ooh I love his expression! Is it just me or do his eyes seem a little on the small end for Resinsoul's usual style? Either way he is definitely cute.

 

I need some advice, I'm planning a custom bjd who's a ghost so I've decided to go with Resinsoul due to their awesome custom color options (I need a translucent bluish-white skin color and was told Resinsoul can likely do it)

But I can't find any comparison of their boy bodies, does someone have different ones and can make a comparison Pic? It's not about the 5cm difference they're offering for MSD but I need one that not muscular at all if possible, maybe even a bit childish... The character I want to do is around 12 so muscles don't really fit
Their newest body looks quite ok I guess but I'd like more options

The head I want to go with is "Ya"

(and if someone is wondering or wants to look it up: I'm planning to do "D" from the Nintendo DS hake "Another Code Two Memories" aka "Trace Memory"... Also planning Ashley ofc)

Resinsoul just released a new MSD boy ...on a new body. Check him out, the body does look younger compared to the others.

Yes, that's the one I was referring to
It seems less muscular than others that had full pictures but I'm not completely sure about it

I see. Well, as far as I can tell, this latest body is also the one with the least amount of muscle.

Kitty Blue posted a MSD boys comparison video on YouTube some time ago. It might be useful for you.
There's even some translucent bluish-white skin color in it, hehe.


And there's always the option to ask Resinsoul for body customization. They've removed muscles before.

 

I think you're right about his eyes! He is very cute, and the body looks nice! It looks like it must be a shorter version of the wukong body from what i can tell

I really want to see it alongside the other boy bodies. I may have to ask them for a pic.
But ooo looks like he has proper peanut joints in his elbows which is awesome.

His hands are different to their usual as well, being on a ball socket rather than one complete sculpt. And the sculpting of the hand itself looks really nice.

He has an unusual nose. I always like the Resinsoul give their dolls unusual noses.

7.8 is a pretty large neck circumference though. Wukong's is 8cm too which is again,quite wide. I'm actually curious how different this body is to Wukong's because they look very similar if not the same. Measurements quoted are different though and they did say it was a "new body" so hmmm...
Gonna have to ask for clarification there.

 

Ooh if you do ask I'd love to see the comparison pics too!

 

I emailed them, so now we wait.

I specifically asked for comparisons to tang and wu's default bodies so we'll see how they interpret that.

 

I thought I'd asked them for a comparison picture too but they just said there's a new boy I can check out on the website. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, fingers crossed you'll get the Pic because I'm also interested

 

Hello~ I'm Ashe and I have two RS/BBB boys. One's an An, the other is a Sprite head on a RS boy body from pre-2010, the An was second hand from someone I used to know, the Sprite I bought myself. The An is white skin, the Sprite was custom-painted by me because the RS/BBB purple didn't have the right tone, so I painted him fully purple and sealed him with a polyurethane sealant, he will always be purple. The only way to change it would be sanding him and I'm not doing that. Once I get some clothes sewn for them and can get some pictures I'll post them. I lost everything but my dolls and their wigs/eyes in a fire in 2012, so they're currently a bit naked XD

 

@Fire is a scary thing. Good on you for getting back into things.
I don't know if you prefer to buy or make doll clothes, but if it's the later I'd say check out the monthly sewing project hosted by @PoeticSoul
It's a great way to get inspiration to stay motivated while sewing.

I make 99% of them, but rn they're all taking turns with the plastic wrap and masking tape XD That's how I make my basic block patterns for them, and once I have the basics I can alter from there.

 

I think a couple of people here have Qingqiu and I have a couple of weirdly specific questions if someone wouldn't mind answering.

What is the circumference of the hip part of the hip peanut and how long is the thigh piece to the top of the knee joint?

 

Looks like the peanut's circumference is about 10 cm / 4 inches. My body's a hybrid, so I can't confirm the thigh length.

 

Thank you. They'll be a little small for the hip joints, but that's better than the opposite, especially if I add some sueding.

 

Turns out Past Ashe was NOT a complete idiot and DID save their photos on some old flash drives!

But since I'm limited to one image, I'll give you guys my Sprite boy, Tremis. The custom painted one.
