Resinsoul Dan has horns!! *58 cm*

*sigh* Yeah, I think I want one in red. I'm having the urge to get her hooves. She definitely needs a nice dark faceup and some kind of unusual eyes. *plots*
(BTW, my friend has dubbed her "the poor man's Beryl". XD)

I agree that she'd also make a lovely boy.

 

Sorry for the noob question, but what other companies does RS's resin match? I'd love to get Dan, but I think I'd have to get him on a different body. (Yes, I think she'd make an excellent boy too.)

Wow! I just love Dan to death, her face is beautiful and I agree with what others have said, she would make a fantastic boy! !!

I really think I have to have her (and possibly get another as a boy one day, who knows?! xD) and the fact that they're offering gray skin makes me want to do backflips! I'm so excited! I can't wait to see some owner pics.

 

She's actually much prettier than Beryl, for my money, and more demonic. Demons should have wicked smiles, IMO, not look like their mommy just cut off their internet allowance. Not that I don't love Beryl and her sulks, but Dan's haunting smile is really something else... the price is the icing on the cake.

All the two really have in common is demon horns. I think she's far more similar to Bobobie's Charisma with bigger horns, really - Charisma was on my wish list except that I have serious reservations about the BBB 60cm body, and Dan's is far nicer. I love smiling dolls, and I love her body sculpt.

Oh, I don't know. Still craving Planetdoll Riz, but this girl has stolen my heart and I keep considering pros and cons of different resin colours. I wish I didn't have to cut down my wish list to just one doll - but there are a lot of really daunting real life expenses looming right ahead. I need to help a billionaire cross the road or something.

"Poor man's Beryl" lol! I'm ordering Dan to be my Beryl's sister. I have a thing for dolls with horns I guess. Heck, at Dan's price, I could amass an entire army of demons! Resinsoul should be coming out with a 60cm boy soon and I'm really excited to see what he looks like.

 

Someone posted a very rude comment on the ResinSoul site on Dan's page, calling her a "disappointment" and a "plagiarism" of Beryl. That made me so mad. Just because Dan has horns, doesn't mean she's a plagiarism! SOOM does not own a copyright or anything like that for horned dolls. Any company can make a doll with horns. I think people would say she's a "plagiarism" because she's a ResinSoul doll and people love crying wolf (copy) whenever they see an inexpensive company releasing dolls, especially such a wonderful doll like Dan.
I'm sure if Luts came out with a doll like this, people wouldn't call it a "plagiarism".

And I think ResinSoul did a fantastic job, fantasy dolls are obviously their specialty. I hope they make more dolls like Dan in the future. It would be awesome if they made the horns available separately, and even designed and cast many different styles of horns. Maybe even more fantasy accessory parts for dolls like wings, ears, and tails!

Given the early popularity of Dan I'd like to think this is only the beginning.

I'm trying to convince myself I don't need three of these... I've decided on a light tan one with chocolate/dark tan horns, but I'd also love a gray one with light tan horns (gargoyle!) and an all-red one (demon!).

She would make a pretty neat looking male doll too, even though I'm not a big fan of gender swapping females to males, Dan's face is just androgynous enough to look awesome both ways! I wonder if ResinSoul has a 58cm/60cm male body in the works.

 

Yes, they do have a 60cm boy in the works!! I can't wait to see him, I bet he's as handsome as the 70cm boys. Of course, if he is I might be in trouble! I don't think Dan looks like Beryl at all, even her horns are quite different. Her face & ears are waaaaay different, she's not nearly as pouty and looks much more androgynous than feminine Beryl. Soom started a wonderful trend with their fantasy themed monthlies, and now a lot of doll companies like AoD and Domuya have come out with fantasy inspired dolls. Nothing wrong with that! Soom proved with their dolls that there is a huge demand for those types of dolls, and it's no wonder other doll companies want to produce a product to fill that demand, too.

 

Kuma Smash, that was a pretty rude comment that individual made. I have Beryl, and Dan looks nothing like her--other then they both have horns.

I also have a pink Charisma (love my cotton candy pink demon girl), and I think a red Dan will be an awesome addition to my crew. It seems a number of us are of a like mind with having this girl in red

After I'm done posting here I'm going to go order her---been thinking about this since last night.

Do you think Resinsoul's grey resin will match SOOM's? I have the second head from my dark Onyx, and it would be nice to have a matching body for it. Hate having floating heads.

After Dan arrives I will see if that head will fit on the RS body. If it fits hopefully they will sell their female body in grey---don't see that color listed yet.

 

I love her! And I also think she would make a good boy. I want her in white. Make her an ewe.

 

I think I'll have to wait a month before I order her... which gives me time to decide on colours... I can see her in white or blue as a frost demon, green with dark tan/chocolate horns as a forest demon, grey or purple as a gargoyle, red a fire demon and even in pink as a demon of cute.

Also if I got her in white or blue I'd love to seal her horns looking all pearly

 

How long are we figuring before Resinsoul releases their 60cm boy body?

That's what I think, too. Beryl *is* pretty and all, but I find Dan's sculpt much more appealing (I cannot express how muh I love those *lips*!). I absolutely agree with what you said about demons. The price is definitely a plus for me.
I'm wondering if there's any chance at all that the head would look good on a 70cm boy boy.

@Kuma Smash!: I *just* saw that! People are just so stupid and rude sometimes. Did we miss some memo saying that Soom has exclusive rights to make horned dolls?

 

Especially considering there were other BJD's with horns before SOOM released Beryl.. Heck, SOOMs other dolls could be considered "plagiarized" for "stealing" the idea of centaurs, unicorns, elves, etc from the artists forum and other companies. (Not to mention all of the other inspirations contained within)

I might have to get Dan. All day I've been distracted from work wondering what I could do with her. I really hope RS/BBB release a really cute 1/4 or tiny sheepy "demon". (BBB's NISSA, Sunny and Moony do have a little horn and droopy or elf ears, but it's not the same)

 

Haha a little msd sheepy demon would be great.
And if RS plagiarised Soom for a horned doll, then Soom plagiarised mythology for pretty much half of their dolls.
Dan could be similar to Beryl, considering horns. But her expression is completely different and not to mention those AMAZING little ears

@Gus - If I'm correct, I believe Bobobie is a dealer of ResinSoul? So in essence, they're the same :'D
Also as I was reading, I was confused when you were all saying you're going to get her in red, thinking "Hey wait, they don't offer red for their dolls..." and then I checked and OMG SHE DOES COME IN RED THAT IS AWESOME. Now I don't know whether to get my future Dan in lilac or red... she'll be the demon master of my lilac Elfkin, so she doesn't exactly need to be the same color, but I was also planning to use red in her faceup... dang, choices choices! At least I have until after Luo to think...
I wonder if ResinSoul will begin to offer their other dolls in red or grey, too? A red Weylin as her sexy demon hubby would be perfect

 

I think Dan might even be my first resin face-up... I just feel so inspired by her and have so many ideas. Maybe I'll win the lotto and be able to get one in every colour.
