Resinsoul Dan has horns!! *58 cm*

lol i saw her and i'm hoping they will sell just the head. i want her as a him to be my merry. those ears are just perfect for what i was looking for.

i'm wondering though if the horns are just painted or cast in another color

 

I think you can request a different color resin, the people who work there are really understanding if you email them, and I bet they would let you choose a different color.

*edit* lol, I completely forgot to put my view of Dan... She is excellent! I'm loving each new doll that RS is releasing more than the last!!

 

She is very interesting. She gives many possibilities to combain skin colors with horn and different eyes. I am in the group of those ones who are "thinking about gray".

 

Is the red they do the color shown on the horns in most of the pics? I didn't see a sample of it on the order page, but that horn color is -gorgeous-.

 

That comment on the RS page was so out of line. This fandom really has a problem that way - each time a new company comes out, there's like this "Who are they plagiarising?" game, until you get a ridiculous situation where people are comparing a doll to three completely different dolls from three companies to figure out which one he's "most" like. I think at base it's prejudice against the Chinese people and the idea they are lesser intelligences who can only copy their "superiors". Yuck.

The worst thing is that they posted it on the company website, so potentially everyone who goes to look at the doll will see it. It seems purposefully destructive. Hopefully, if they are new to the fandom, they'd at least have the sense to google Beryl and see how very different she is. Dan really does have the distinctive RS house style, which appeals to me very much.

I'm now thinking... pink with red horns and red eyes and black hair, because I'm afraid 60cm of red would be too much for me. And... Arianne02, that's your cotton candy demon? I love her. She was part of the reason I wanted Charisma in the first place, and she's part of my "I would really love a pink Dan" thing.

 

Bobobie and resinsoul aren't the same. Bobobie didn;t design those dolls. They cast them in resin and thus sell them aswell.
They will offer other dolls in grey aswell.
If you don't specify the horn color in the comments when you order, it will be the same color as the doll. They are resin.
I'm thinking of just getting her in all grey dolls and paint the horns myself later.

 

I read that you can buy the horns and head separately. And the red I have seen. I think it was on a tiny anthro... A bull I think.

$20 for that awesome pair of horns is SO cool. And I like that they have some pictures of Dan's head blank and from a few different angles in the first link. ResinSoul's sculpting has improved so much! She's really an awesome doll.

 

I really really like Dan I wish I had more doll spending money--RS keeps putting out dolls that I would love to have.

As for the plagiarism thing--some people (or person, I guess to be accurate ) need to chill out and start using their braincells. Soom isn't the only company to sell dolls with horns, and you can go to Leekeworld and buy horns and put them on any doll you like. Just having horns alone does not automatically make one sculpt look like another. Lots of different ideas get picked up by various companies, each company putting their own twist on it (like Dan's ears along with the horns). If you follow that person's mode of thinking, then pretty much every doll company could be accused of plagiarism for something or other. Anyway, ResinSoul's style is very different from Soom's, so I don't know why some person would feel the need to overreact.

 

Hear hear! I'm happy people are thinking along the same lines as me about that comment, it's just so ignorant and biased.

Not to mention Bobobie was making tinies with little horns before Soom came out with their horned dolls...

It just seems so petty to claim another company is "plagiarising" something like horns from another company. I really don't see horns being all that different from elf ears in a sense... They're both special "fantasy" features, and people don't see a doll with elf ears and call it a plagiarism of another elf-eared doll.

Thinking along the same lines as that commenter could pretty much justify ANYTHING as plagiarism... since Volks was the first BJD company, thinking in terms of "______ is plagiarising so-and-so's doll!" could apply to any company that isn't Volks, since Volks was making BJDs "first".

Comparing Dan and Beryl and saying plagiarism is like saying Harry Potter is plagiarized from Lord of the rings. Way off track but both fantasy. Very Ignorant.

What color of horns you choosed?

 

I'm not having the face-up so I am assuming the horns will be in the same gray then I can just blush them with colour as I want. I'm not really sure what look to go for, will wait until she comes and hope inspiration strikes!

 

I've decided to order Dan in purple!! Now I have to get my doll funds in order and see how much more I have to save. Hopefully not too much! I seem to have a weekness for dolls with horns. It's like I'm building my own demon army, lol.

 

Since RS is now selling horns inexpensively many people can have there own sheep, demons, goats..... Without waiting for a Soom limited release. More opportunities for interesting characters.

 

I still can't decide on the colour for her! And I really can't afford 6 of the same doll Is it wrong to get twins? Although I can't decide between 6 resin colours I do have two (okay, 3) ideas that really stand out and I want to get my hands working on. Not only will she be my first faceup, but I've got some ideas that incorporate the whole body... And I can see her sitting completed with my other RS dolls.

The two main ideas work really well with the two separate worlds that my BJDs live in...
