1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

      Brief introduction of artist Emma:

My name is Emma, I’m born in 1986 and I come from Sweden. I’m an former illustrator and comic artist and are currently working as an graphic designer at an Swedish home interior company. I have been in the BJD hobby since 2012. I go under the name Nattmaran on most social medias. I have an big passion for nordic folklore, fairytales and the nordic nature. This has always been a inspiration in most of my work, along with other things such as black metal and other alternative music.I love everything about the BJD hobby, and I’m really into making things myself as much as possible. Everything from making my own character designs, sketching, painting tattoos, doing face ups, making wigs and taking pictures of them. Making the dolls come to life. I am also working on an BJD of my own and dream of having it finished and released some day.

      Design ideas for Gain:

“My first idea for Gain was that I did not want to make a classic Dracula style vampire with a Victorian style outfit. I wanted to make something new and a bit more modern, but still an ancient creature.

I wanted Gain to resemble a creature or an animal, and that would inflict fear and respect at the same time. Since vampires are old he needed to look more wise and powerful rather than a brute.
I wanted him to look a bit like a native tribe member, a hunter or witch master, so I gave him tribal face and body paint and also a horned crown with a rib cage shape.
His stretched earlobes and the metal rings in his spine are also a mix of modern body art and native tribe art.
The clothes are a mix between native tribe and styles from gothic and metal underground music cultures with leather and metal details to make it more modern.

I gave him white blank eyes since vampires are sensitive to light, and to make him more demonic, the eyes become expressionless and dead, it strengthens the animalistic feeling I wanted him to have. That is also why I chose to not give him eyebrows, to reduce expressions in his face and make him look less human with the lack of facial hair.

I wanted Gain to have a twisted demonic limb, so I combined that with Shan’s idea that Gain had a deformed right hand that he uses to suck blood with, instead of his mouth like classic vampires do. I used the rib cage and horn shapes from the crown for the arm as well to pic up the style and combine them.

I chose dark and cold colours for Gain, mostly black and grey mixed with some blue tones, to make him look deceased.
For the wig I wanted simple, black long hair that goes well with the pale skin and the blank eyes. ”
