Ringdoll's Frankenstein 2013 Edition and Bride of Frankenstein

When I ordered my Frank last year I could only get him full set, which really bummed me out b/c he wears none of the things he came with

 

if that's the case, as much as it sucks because I have my own ideas for clothing for my character and I also have his wig and eyes on order with ersa flora... I would still be okay with having the fullset for the value of it incase I ever have to sell him ( as much as he's my grail doll and I'd die first but life has its ways sometimes )

 

I don't like to keep things I don't use, I don't have the space for it. I would if I could though...I'm already pushing the space issue with another SD. :I (and I have two more that I want) Nicky mostly with his clothing. The yo's have a shelf to themselves.

I too have my own eyes, wig and other stuff I've planned for my doll. xPIt would be awesome though if we can get just the doll. >_> *vainly hopes anyways* lol

I know everyone is mostly excited for Frank's release, but has anyone heard anything else about the bride? Viktor really wants a sister, but I can't even find a teaser page for her on the RD website...

 

The Bride they showed at PNW BJD Expo was Julia's head, and the overall doll was 60cm tall. I personally think the height difference is cute, her being small and delicate and he's a tall, looming monster.

 

I totally agree about the height difference, she's adorable! Viktor saw her and said "That's Erzsébet! When is she coming home?" And now I'm all impatient too!

 

meh! have anyone, beside me, see the event from ringdoll? still a month till they realease him and her ... but i preoder him anyways around the 10th.

 

Just looked... and still no information on the Bride, such as how much she's going to cost...? I'm not plunking down any money until I at least know how much they're going to cost

 

I've been quietly watching for the upcoming release, and really liking the images for the new Frankenstein, since I missed out on the original one. But yeah, I'm pretty put off by the idea of putting down a deposit before the price is released. As much as I like what I've seen so far, the price would/could factor into that decision; it's hard to commit without knowing such an important bit of information. I guess the early pre-order option works for people who intend to get him no matter what, but it seems like a pretty big drawback.

 

I'm right there with you! I was totally into getting the Bride... but now I'm just not sure. I left a comment on RD's flickr that I love the Bride but I'm not agreeing to buy anything from them without basic information such as how much she's going to cost. This feels like I'm basically paying $250 for the scythe and a pamphlet. No deal.

 

Yeah, I'd really love to see how much they're going to cost in the end. I still plan on getting Frankenstein because I've set a really high savings goal for him (estimated based on his previous release's cost and then added a couple hundred dollars just in case) but I'd feel better about putting down the payment to be in the event if I knew everything that was included (they say the sickle, and then mention his history and concept art, so I'm hoping maybe some sort of photobook?) and what exactly I'm getting into.

 

I agree. I am not too willing to drop $250 without more information.... Like how much he'll cost in the end. :/ I'd rather not pay the deposit and find out it ends up costing like a thousand dollars or something ridiculous for everything. I highly doubt it'll cost that much though, but still.

Just as a side note- a sickle is a hand held crescent blade, the tool RD is including in the pre-order is actually a scythe (crescent blade on a long handle or staff) such as that used by reapers for reaping (harvesting grain)
I've used both tools, my Grands are old school

So...it's encouraging that they're saying it's not too far off from the original Frank's price, at least.

But it's still just discouraging to me because I really do want him, and if I'm going to order him anyway, I'd really like to get the extras. But there's still part of me that's just worried, like everyone else, that I could put down a big deposit and then turn around to find out that the price or terms are really disagreeable, and find myself in a bind. I mean, with the last Frankenstein release, I loved the initial prototype images, but found myself disappointed in the final images (the really bronze/orange blushing on the grey resin) and the fact that you could only get the complete fullset. I wouldn't want any unpleasant surprises after putting down a deposit.

 

That's good to know about this Frankenstein release, but it's not very helpful for those of us interested in the Bride. Are they planning to release her for the same price, even though she's (probably) going to come with less? It's not like there's a previous edition of her to use as a reference point

 

Yeah, it looks like things are pretty up in the air for her. I would hope that means her price will be somewhere in the range of their other female LEs, but then, there aren't a lot of them to judge by, and the price varies quite a bit between Julia and Jessica.

 

I had a feeling he was going to come out in Aug. So I am well prepared to pay full price. (I knew it!) But I am already a bit growly that I have to pay for the fullset. I only want the doll...and that Reaper Scythe looks awesome. I already got on the boat though, so no going back. If anything weird goes on with the blushing, I'll just have to man-up and scrub it off and do it myself. Even though I don't want too.

Can you request different Face-Up service on these limited sets? Or is it more of "What you see is what you get"? I know with basic dolls you can...er sometimes.

wow i feel a great disturbance in the force. I mean you can decide to join till the end of the month.... and something say me that Ringdoll will add the price before the sale begin (even not i´m still in. Love that sythe). And i can´t be wrong but it seems that he has closed eyes this time (or a faceplate with closed eyes?). It looks like it on the pics the posted on facebook.
But i have to agree Malaryush: the blushing og the original release was disppointing. I still hope for a better one or order him blank.

 

Right?!? Argh! I'm getting dangerously close to being so frustrated and annoyed that I won't buy her, period. I can't enjoy dolls that were nothing but drama to get and I always end up rehoming them so I may as well save myself $800 (or whatever) and bitterness

ETA - I got the original Frank release and I had to buy him full set, no choice on body blushing or anything. I hope they don't go that route with this preorder because it's pretty not cool to expect people to agree to pay for something when they don't even know exactly what they're buying
