Ringdoll's Frankenstein 2013 Edition and Bride of Frankenstein

Not too bad, but I want to see the belly of the Bride upclose. I wonder why she does not have a round belly since she is pregnant?

 

I imagine that it would make her harder to dress, which would be a drawback for RD because they wouldn't be able to use pre-existing slopers to make her full set outfit, and for potential buyers like me who don't want to get another difficult to dress doll. I wouldn't consider buying her if she had a bulgy, pregnant belly - how on earth would I dress her?

 

It would be nice if she came with two belly pieces--an obviously pregnant one and a flat one. Obviously that won't be happening, but I'd love to see an actually pregnant-bellied doll for once. And not one that was modded.

 

I forgot about the dress she is wearing, my bad. At least she comes with a baby inside her, definitely do want to see how they got the baby to fit inside.

 

i am hopeing there is something more to frankenstiens outfit, i like what i see so far atleast because i am not sure what style i want him to have.

 

I'd sworn off buying myself any dolls for the rest of the year, but she is SO tempting. I'm also interested in this special pre-order gift! It sounds really nice. Gah, just can't decide what to do!

 

I am sitting here trying to plot on how I can get the bride too. I think I can swing it with a layaway with MoC, and I don't have any grey skin dolls in my home. If she comes with high heel feet I wonder what kind of shoes she can wear? SD 13 or SD 16 size female shoes?

 

I went to Barnes and Noble and couldn't resist picking up one of the classics to keep me company. Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" to tide me over until I get more news of my Frankenstein. I've always held interest in the book, and it might be interesting to model my boy after the classic Monster.

I can't wait to see more pictures of the Bride more too, I'm really close to making a choice to get her or a different female doll from another company.

 

I believe the Bride's head is the same sculpt as Julia's. The original Frankenstein's head was Sol/Norman's head in grey, and I think they do the same thing with other dolls, too (different names for different skintones and faceup choices)

I really didn't like the book "Frankenstein." I thought it was tedious. @_@ I hope you're better able to enjoy it! I love the monster classics, all except that one. lol Dracula and Jeckyll & Hyde are much more enthralling. Ringdoll should make a Jeckyll/Hyde doll! OMG, I'd love it. *.* Half on each side of the body, meshed into one monstrosity!!!

Ringdoll is sorely tempting me, what with its awesome free gifts and lovely sculpts... I wanted the bride at first sight, but now I'm wanting the Frank II, too! But does anyone else think it looks like he has the same face as their new doll Edward?

 

Yes, to me he just looks like a gray Edward. But 2011 Frankenstein was just a grey Sol, so... the 'sharing faces' thing is something Ringdoll does a lot.

 

I've noticed. XD But at least it shows the potential of how much difference a resin color or faceup can make! ^^

 

their nair to go with the limited Carlos was just the Ronald sculpt. not that i mind that one because i wanted the Ronald sculpt first.

 

I plan on modifying my Frankenstein's head (at least the new edition head. Still debating whether to get the old one as well) I've seen a technique to sand colored resin, but I've still never tried it before. Probably should test it on a foot first, but if it works out I want to make his jawline a little more angular and add a little more contour. I want his face to be more bumpy.

EDIT: It's official. I'm going to buy the old head because.....Ringdoll used the old head for PNW BJD Expo and that's the one I've loved all along. So plans on modding the new head are scrapped and I'm probably just going to sell it along. It just doesn't fit what I want from him, and I can't get past that. Even if he was modded, it just wouldn't be what I've been longing for all this time.
