Rosen Garden Fleur 18cm Discusion

Jan 16, 2014

    1. Thank you @mdonline03 ^^
Your girl is so sweet-looking with that face-up :love
Good luck with finding a wig though, these heads are soo tiny!

    2. Oh, she's so beautiful! (all of them are!) One thing about the wig problem is that you can make a LOT of wigs with a small amount of material because they are so tiny! That's what I plan to do with my future tiny dolls.

    3. I asked if Hana would be available again and got the following answer:

      Hello!

Thank you for the interest in my dolls! ^-^
There will be new pre-order soon. I'm thinking of adding new face-plate (and tan colors again) too.
      Layaway is possible (two installments).

I usually update Etsy shop and inform on my Flickr:

      Best wishes,
      Tatiana

    4. I'm curious about the new faceplate. Will it be something new entirely or the faceplates that didn't make it into a preorder the last time?
And yay for Hana, she's absolutely beautiful, I can't recommend her enough :)

    5. I wonder if the new faceplate will be Ayame or Sleeping Fleur? Look here
Despite their existence, I'm not sure if they were ever for sale?
Edit// Pfft! I'm half-asleep, this is exactly what MsPatricius said. //Edit

I adore Hana, as well as Aster. This little cutie is definitely on my list :)

And if anyone who owns a Rosengarden would like to share pictures... I'm all for it :D

    6. I have a Rosen Garden Hana! She is beautiful and very well-made, and Tatiana was a pleasure to work with.

My Hana is from her latest preorder and has the new modified body. Her tiny little hands are exquisite! In fact, the only trouble I have with her is that her hip joints have a hard time staying in place - they want to rotate inwards so that her knees face each other. I going to try some sueding for this problem in the future. However, despite this, when balanced right, she stands very well and her poses are amazingly natural.

Here is a picture! (plus there are more on Flickr)

Due to a lack of supplies, she is making do with a fake wig (hair sewn in a hat) and has to suffer not having a face - or a name, since I'm not sure who she is. However, at least I made her a hoodie...

    7. Xila, I don't recall them being on sale either. I remember the first preorder for the new faceplates was decided based on the interest (Hana and Aster were probably the ones people most wanted). I'm personally curious about Ayame.
StellaMarigold, I know the problem of the legs all too well ^^' Overall I'm amazed by the articulation and how versatile my Hana is when it comes to poseability, but she has her quirks (it might be just me but she also has only two modes when it comes to forearms - completely straight and completely bent, I can't seem to get her to hold her forearm mid-bent).
Your Hana is just so precious, her hoodie is very cute. She reminds me a bit of Galadirel on the pictures with flowing white hair. I hope you find out who she is soon :)

I guess I'm lucky to be sure about my Hana. I just lack the skill to get her into a state I want her in. So she spends some time nude and other times she steals clothes (like from Star Wars Disney Store's Rey Action Figure - they fit okay, by the way, but are a bit on the big side. And Rey's arm warmers make nice leg warmers for my Ouse :D)

Love the scale too, she looks cool with bigger dolls and I can use pretty notebooks for the background.

    8. Lol, @MsPatricius - I know exactly what you mean about the arms, and I'm not sure what the issue is! Is the stringing too tight, or is is the up/down effect caused by the way the arms/channels are shaped? I love her arms, and they are very expressive, but I would like to pose them in between sometimes!

      > related: does her left arm (when she is facing you) bend less fully than her other arm? With my doll, her right forearm (when she's facing me) bends all the way flat against her upper arm, but on the other side, it's like the peanut rides up too high so the forearm doesn't bend all the way down.

Thank for complimenting my Hana! I'm sure I'll figure out what to do with her eventually. I got into this hobby with the intention of having an art model for my illustrations (plus I love miniatures and don't mind having an excuse to make them), so I didn't think as much about personalities. At some point she'll get a faceup, though, and that will probably help.

Your Ouse is lovely! (and so are your photos) I love how her hair and skin complement each other, and the shimmer around her eyes is a unique detail. I have to admit, though, I have no idea of how to pronounce her name (and I collect names)!

    9. YES, yes it does. It might be the same thing that prevents sideways movements of the forearms? But I'm not that well-versed in doll anatomy ^^' (I won't say it's all the way flat, but yes, there is a difference)

I'm the same with doll personalities, Ouse is the only one that has a proper(ish) backstory behind her. So I would say not to worry :)

And thank you very much! It's a bit of a challenge to photograph her, and I'm glad you like the effects ^^ I've named her after a character from Fatal Frame V, so it's a Japanese name. Before there was an official version, I've seen that name written as Oose or Ouse, and I pronounce that u. And I love that shimmer, I'm so glad it looks so nice in that scale (was a bit of afraid the glitter dust will be too big).

    10. If your doll does the same thing, the arm issue must have something to do with the original mold! But it's a small detail in a very lovely little lady, so I don't mind :)

What I do sometimes is to gently rotate the elbow peanut in the socket so that it faces toward the body (or away from the body). I don't know if you're supposed to do this, but it seems to work without hurting the resin pieces and it allows for more range of motion in her arms when trying to pose her.

I thought Ouse might be a Japanese name! Thank you for explaining it. It is very cute! Some names I have considered for my Hana were inspired by fairy tales and movies/books. I might name her Kikuchiyo after one of my favorite characters in Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai" (I highly respect that movie!). The character is a guy, but he can't read, so he tells the real samurai that his name is Kikuchiyo, which is actually a girl's name meaning something like "a thousand chrysanthemums." (Naturally, they laugh at him, but don't explain what's funny about the name).

    11. Indeed it's a little thing, but it's nice to know it's probably a mold thing :) Yes, this kind of rotation works too, doesn't look that good though (admittedly I suppose if I had clothes with sleeves for her I wouldn't mind that much).

Oh my, Kikuchiyo is a lovely name, I really like the flow of it. I've heard about the movie, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I imagine that if you name your Hana after him, she might end up being a little fighter :)

    12. New heads!
Argh the agony, both are striking - and TEETH. In that scale. Just wow.
I might not be coherent but I'm being torn apart a bit right now. Iris has the teeth + half-closed eyes combo that's just my thing, but Nari's face is wonderfully sculpted. I'm expecting future preorders, but you never know honestly. The agony D:

    13. I just saw this thread and I'm amazed, I never saw this dolls before ! They're stunning ! I love so much their sculpts.
I love the new heads ! So pretty ! *__*

    14. Wow, thank you for posting the link! They are lovely! Normally I do NOT like visible teeth at all, but Nari and Iris are just lovely (I especially like Nari's weary-looking eyes).

I'm sure Tatiana is getting lots of messages and I'm not really in a position to buy anything at the moment, but if she ever sells just heads, I might be interested in Nari for the body I already have.

    15. StellaMarigold, I don't think she ever offered that option in the past, so I'm not really sure. They're small, so it might not be viable to order the casting.
I'm in a similar position, though I admit - I'm calculating right now if I would be able to get one of them (and crossing fingers for another preorder in a few months - I will be ready for that one). Nari's lips remind me a bit of Priyanka Chopra and well, I miiiight even have found the name (same as with Ouse). So yeah. Agony.

Tentacule, hello! The dolls are amazing, and very well-sculpted. I would definitely recommend considering them ;)

    16. Took some flowers from mom's garden and a book cover for some photos. I love the freedom this scale gives when it comes to backgrounds, it allows for so much creativity.
More photos on my flickr if you're interested.

    17. I've been looking at the rosengarden girls again!

I recently asked the maker if she had any plans to allow us to buy more than one faceplate, or to sell heads separately. Unfortunately, the answer was no. Thought I'd share her response here, since there's some interesting tidbits of information:

I totally understand the logistics of why it's not possible. Still, it doesn't stop me from wondering how I can get my hands on just a head... They're so un-hybrid-able, the odds of finding someone doing a head-body split, or looking to sell just the head, are very slim.

Still, I have a hybrid in mind that I'd love a rosengarden head for... *_* I've been holding off on buying my girl, just in case buying extra face plates becomes an option in the future.

    18. Hello! It's been a while since I last visited DoA... very busy *_*
Thank you all for your support and interest in my dolls!
Unfortunately, only full dolls are available and I do not plan to sell heads separately. Not for such small doll and not when I use 2 casting factories with different resin colors : (
I'm very, very sorry for inconvenience!
