WHAT sales schedule?!?! Aside from them offering once last year!! I'm still waiting! Are we all missing the schedule or what?

 

That's not encouraging. Word on the street is that once the sculptor's contract came up for renewal, she held out for more money. They didn't renew and now who owns the intellectual property rights is being debated in court. For those not in the loop on international IP, S. Korea is infamous for dragging these sorts of battles out for years, without regard for money being lost.

 

When I wrote "missing the facebook/twitter/instagram posts." I meant collectively, including The Gem, etc, etc. I haven't seen or heard ANYTHING about Rosettes in Soom promotion post stuff.

@ThisOneIsMein I hope that is not true!! In a previous message, Soom told me they were not planning on halting the sales of the dolls (post #439).

Maybe we should ask them about the contract stuff outright, but I wonder if they would give us an answer. How am I supposed to complete my characters if they stop selling them?! I NEED A PURE BOY DAMN IT! The muse boy is too short! :P

 

The way I read it, they can sell remaining stock, they can (assuming they win the case) cast new dolls from the old mold, but they will not be able to make new molds or redo original outfits. We see some of this in the new uniforms they released. My interpretation isn't based on familiarity of S. Korean specific laws, though.

Someone should ask and see if they can shed some light on the contracts issue.

 

IP lawsuits in general are infamous for dragging out over years. I used to work for an law firm that did IP litigation and seriously, years

 

GAH!!! This is terrible! I HOPE they at least cast more of the already established dolls. I still want several of them in different sizes and skin colors.

 

Right? I still need two pure girls in cream white skin....

 

I want a Fir (male or female)... It's not the more difficult sculpt to find, but... I'd rather take her/him new...

 

Alright, I went ahead and asked about the contract thing. We will see if I get a reply or not. I bet they are thinking, "Jeebus, not THIS PERSON again!"

 

Yeah, I work with contracts lawyers who are all IP nerds in their spare time. The worst part is the longer it drags out, the more money they lose, so they believe they need to hold out longer to recoup. Look at Samsung and , well, anyone. Billions in lost revenue a year, and they hold fast.

Like I said in earlier answer to your earlier question, the rumor you're heard of is not true. ^^
Current Rosette schedule has not been in discussion, because we're focusing on Gem dolls instead.
I'm sorry that it is hard for me to answer when Rosette will be planed to make for now, but like great fans like you we'll continue to plan to make a schedule for Rosette in the future.

That is some serious spin doctoring. Last time they were asked, they said. "Development team on Rosette had been reorganized" Now it's that they're focusing on other lines (despite having separate development teams for each line).

 

It is bad, to read, that we maybe will get no more Rosettes. I wanted a male and a Female Body for Hybrieding.
So in the Meantime some Hazel Spam.

The Outfit is more or less finished. Only need Bow and Arrow and of course some Color on the Body. But it is only raining this year.

 

I didnt realize all this crap was going on with the rosette's O.o.... I'm very glad I bought my fir two years ago now. She'd been on my wishlist since I'd found out about bjds. I was hoping to eventually get a tan rosette and a boy rosette possibly... jeez. This sucks!

 

@Froschschenkel, seeing your boy makes me want one even more.

 

@Anshishoku - You know , i'm so what of happy and relieved that i took him the minute i saw him. Let us press all our thumbs, maybe the Problem will be solved and we will get this lovely Dolls back. And maybe it helps if we anoy Soom with Questions...
