1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Rosette 47cm discussion Part 6

Apr 17, 2014

    1. Finally, after more years than i should admit to, my Fir's look is solidifying. Hopefully their wings will be here next month like it's supposed to. Then it's just faceup!

    2. I just restrung Gremory, my Rosette Doll Fir (pure body), for the first time ever.

No idea where my old stringing tool went, so I’d ordered a new tool and elastic from Volks last week, which got here today. It was only after removing some of the old string that I noticed that the tool was way too big for this sculpt, as in too thick to get through the teeny holes in her arms. The Volks tool is for SD size (thought I could use it for all my dolls) but the flattened wire is way too thick for Rosette dolls.

So I ended up making a stringing tool out of bronze wire — not ideal but it worked. 14 and 16 gauge wire were too big though! 18 gauge starts to get a little flimsy, but with a little hammering to strengthen the wire, it worked well enough. This tool was a bit of a rushed job in the making of it so I might try to make another better one for future use.

Anyway, Gremory poses so much better now. Before this she was about as floppy as a rag doll :sweat

Currently she’s without a face-up — that’s a project I’ll hopefully be doing soon. Pretty much all of my dolls need some work after being away from the hobby for so long.

Lastly, wow, it’s sad that these dolls seem to have been discontinued? :? I see that the had an order period back in 2021, but that’s four years ago now, and at least Fir is sectioned off in the archives. So sad if they’re totally gone.

There are lots of dolls I love to look at, but very few I badly want from the moment they are released. Rosette Fir was one such doll for me and I have always loved seeing what others have done with them (and other Rosettes, Marguerite was my other favourite!).
