Rosette 47cm discussion Part 6

I find the SOOM site in general can be difficult to navigate.

Now that I've had some time to play with my girl, I'm even more in love. She poses so beautifully - such expressiveness in the way she moves. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Rosette team will come up with next...especially if it involves elf ears and/or boys!

I've been working on expanding Saria's wardrobe. She got undies, a denim mini skirt and a pretty shirt sewn for her this weekend.

Lovely girl! Is she a FCE Brown Tan?

My 3 girls got some camera time today, as part of this week's photostory. They've been a bit overdue for pictures, especially since I made Miranda a new sweater (which she's wearing in the pictures!)

Girrl: I believe she is a FCE brown tan. I got her second hand on the market here. Willow is my current favorite followed by my Migma's. I always enjoy your photo stories because I love you Migma in it and her shoes. I was needing a pair for one of my Migma's and have been eying a pair from that seller so its good to know they fit. I also enjoy the way your Rosette girls interact with all the others in your crew.

 

Hello! I'm new to the thread, but I just got a tan Vela, so I thought I'd introduce her here



I'm still looking for a name. Do you have any suggestions? She's very earthy and she lives in the woods.

 

She is gorgeous, and I hope you don't mind my asking who did her faceup? It's beautiful!
As for earthy names...Ember, Sparrow, Saffron, Wynter, Sage...those are all I can think of for now. Hope you find the perfect name for her!

 

I don't really know who did the faceup, but it looks like it could be a default from soom. And I like the name Sparrow. Now I need to choose between Hazel, Willow, or Sparrow. I like them all!

 

So I was playing around with Aesh's posing a little while ago, and managed to pull this off. I don't dare try it with Oethel because one of her ankles are already compromised, but this is with her arrival stringing, and completely unsupported. As you can see, I had to pop her hips out of socket to pull it off, too. Thus, we have an L impression.

I came home from work yesterday and was surprised to find the familiar SOOM box in my living room! They had promised me that they would be shipping me a new Vela by the end of July. When I hadn't heard from them, I was going to wait until the middle of August to inquire about her. I didn't get a shipping notice or anything, she was a complete surprise.

Well, I definitely did not receive a new Vela, it's the same doll. The damage I did fixing the magnets is still there. So after 7-week wait, all they did was switch out the silver plate for the proper gold one, and cast me a new set of hands. That hardly seems worth the $100+ it cost for them to have me ship her there and ship her back. It's like they were planning on giving me a new one, never got around to it and just said "screw it". So she still has the gapped face plate and the jaundice color skin.

I appreciate them offering to fix the issues...and they did eat those shipping costs, but honestly after this experience I hesitate to deal with them again. Sadly my closing date for the house I'm buying got pushed back to the end of the month, so she went right back into the box when I opened her up. I've actually already done a body review when I had her the first time, but I've been waiting to make a new one to upload instead. I'm hoping to get that done on Saturday. Then she will go right back into storage for the move. You know, I wasn't even really excited to see her again, which is a bad sign. I'm hoping my feelings will change when everything is unpacked and I can really get acquainted with her.

 

I really sorry to hear that, Venetica I guess the only good thing is that they refunded you the shipping (since I can imagine you'd be livid if they'd made you pay all that for so little work on their part). Hopefully you'll be able to bond with her after taking a little break. The faceplate gapping will maybe bother you less once you've settled on a wig for her (though I understand that simply knowing it's there will be a little bothersome). The yellowing might be something that will mellow a little bit with age, as well (I've noticed many dolls that aren't exposed to sunlight or heat seem to only yellow to a certain point before sort of 'settling', so her body might sort of 'catch up' to the head with a little time). I really hope everything works out in the end so you can enjoy her

Also, I have a question for anyone who owns both Pure and Muse girls! I'm wondering if they bust piece is identical on both sculpts? I'm thinking that in the future I'd like to arrange a split to get a girl with a Muse face-up but a Pure body (so stupid that Soom still doesn't allow you to chose face-up type independent of body type ), and it would be much simpler if I can take advantage of the fact that Soom allows you to pick Muse bust types. I know it's a bit of a longshot, but it's possible the pieces are the same, so I had to ask. Hopefully someone doesn't mind unstringing their girls to check for me
