1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Russian doll artists

Mar 9, 2022

    1. I think it would be helpful to make a list of Russian BJD artists on instagram who have moved to telegram or vero.co. DragonShellDolls, redriverdolls, etc... Additionally 'thebjdplace' on instagram has made a discord and encouraged doll artists to go there.

This list should be active doll artists who still want to be in contact with the community and have posted their new socials on their instagram account. I don't wish to share socials of people who do not want to be known or found, so please contact me if there is a mistake. Otherwise...

      Artists moving from instagram:

      DS Doll: vero.co/balagur73
      Sillymysteriouswoman: same handle on telegram
      RedRiverRoad: Telegram @redriverroadsdolls
      Mezendoll: mezendoll.com
      Matahata: vero.co/matahatas
      Nurka_dolls: telegram handle @nurkadolls
      Gray_valet: telegram group? BJD-SVW.v.1.1(beta) BJD-SVW.v.1.1(beta)
      barbelo_o: vero.co/barbelo
      Lenucciadolls: vero.co/lenucciadolls

I'll edit this post as I see more.

    2. A Russian person I follow on IG says that supposedly, in their time, IG will be inaccessible to them by the night. Half of who I follow are in Russia so my feed is going to be so bare and I'll miss their beautiful posts but more importantly worry if they're safe. :(

    3. I would like to contact DS dolls, what does the Vero address mean? Forgive my ignorance.

    4. Vero is another type of social media, you’d have to have an account to look them up probably

    5. Vero is another type of social media. It's supposed to be an Instagram/Facebook alternative that's ad-free and algorithm-free. Right now, it's free to join and users who join now are supposed to get a free account for life. There's talk that they might charge a joining fee later to keep it ad-free.

Anyway, there seems to be a typo in the Vero address given for DS Dolls above. It should be vero.co/balagur73. Non-users seem to be able to see the user pages if they have the user address, but in general, you need an account to look up users and to contact them.

    6. Whoops, thank you for pointing that out! Have fixed on the original post.

    7. I got a message from Nihilum Dolls on Instagram, Fedor says he's planning on staying and using a VPN for as long as he can. He's also planning to continue making dolls despite being unsure of the postage situation.

    8. Yeah, I just saw Black Cherry Dolls pop back up on Instagram, too. Said that they should be able to stick around provided they stick to doll content only, and that if shipping's still not looking good by the time the next batch of MSDs is done, Harucasting would lend them a hand and ship stuff out from Korea.

    9. SillyMysteriousWoman is in Russia and she does the face ups for my GOT character dolls. She's git the head that was meant to become Brienne of Tarth, and I don't know how I would get the money to her when it's finished or how she will get it to me.

    10. I have a preorder deposit down on a One Little Alien from Tamikan Space. I had emailed them, and Timur said that they have the supplies to complete their most recent preorders, but no way to accept payments at the moment.
I believe they set up on Telegram, and VK as well. They are still posting on IG as they are able, but I haven't seen anything from them in a few days now. :/

    11. Thanks, I didn’t know about Vero, I’d never heard of it.

Has anyone had their dolls that are on the way from Russia actually arrive? An artist that I had a doll on layaway with said a few of the dolls she sent earlier this month have arrived in the States. She offered to send her by normal mail but I’m realllllyyyy nervous about that.

    12. Did your doll ever make it out of Russia?

    13. Nope:pout: still in Moscow. The tracking has been stuck there since February.

    14. Oh no!! I’m hearing conflicting things. A few artists have told me that packages are still making it into the US. Hopefully your doll gets out of limbo soon! Will you update here when they start moving?

    15. Moscow Post has always been a disaster and is always backed up; I assume with the current situation and having to reroute everything now, the problem is even more severe. COVID and now this war cannot have helped it much (they are a notoriously outdated and understaffed postal facility).

    16. Same boat here. I sent Silly my doll's head for a face-up and a wig by the end of January before everything started.
Recently, I asked her about the situation and she told me that, despite everything, she is still working on her commissions, but she hasn't found a way to get paid for her work yet so she couldn't send the overseas commissions back even if they were finished.
I just hope this all ends and she and all other russian artists find their way to get paid for their work.

    17. You should suggest Boosty to her, so far it seems to be working smoothly. It only accepts payment in rubles, though, so exchange rates have to be done by hand, but Paypal works through it.

    18. Have you used Boosty yourself? I have a pre-order doll on layaway with a Russian artist (their first doll, I believe), and they suggested Boosty. I avoid signing up for new websites, especially to send payments, and I can’t really find much info about Boosty.
I guess my main concern is that the payment wouldn’t be goods and services, or that the protection wouldn’t work anyway. Or(because I’m paranoid) that my PayPal account would somehow get messed up/banned.

      Thank you!

    19. Very worried about the Ukrainian doll people. Several of the dealers on Etsy whom I've bought from are in Ukraine, and they aren't updating. Did they evacuate? Did they get out safely? Will they even have a home to go back to? It is very worrying and scary. I'm praying for everyone in Ukraine and Russia.

    20. I know of at least one seller who has moved safely abroad. Some of them are on Instagram and update on there. I think this is a disaster for everyone :(
