1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sanding

Dec 15, 2009

    1. I leave 'em. They don't bother me at all.

    2. I had no idea that there were sanding services. I will have to look into that... though, it would make me nervous sending my dolly away.

Personally, I've found that I am not too bothered by seams if they are not noticeable. That said, some seams on one of my PukiPuki are so noticeable and large that they're getting dirt from my fingers in the seams when I handle him. Ugh!

So my question is, any suggestions for getting rid of seams? What grade sandpaper? Special tools? (since he's a tiny)

My search-fu is weak and I was unable to find a thread on sanding tips, so if anyone has any links to share, I'll be grateful!

    3. If sanding service is available and isn't too pricey, then I will go ahead and get it done. But for the most part, seam lines don't bother me unless they are glaringly obvious and then I will sand them down myself. But subtle ones I just leave as is.

    4. Usually I don't order sanding, but give newly-arrived dolls to local doll-crafter. She treats dolls more careful than companies do.
