It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. SartoriaJ Mini

Jul 18, 2019

    1. Hurrah, she finally arrived!!! S. Jenice in warm ivory with the corset bust:

She's very pretty but I'm not sure how I feel about her? Her eyebrows are a LOT more orange than I expected, so the wig I had planned doesn't really work - looking at the promo pics it's just how they are, but somehow it's a lot different to see it in person! Also I had this same problem when I bought the FID ladies - I have a whole lot of Raccoondoll girls and both the SartoriaJ and FID heads are just slightly bigger, just enough to throw me off and make me feel they aren't quite in proportion. It's silly, it's not a huge difference! Well, I'll have to see how she grows on me. I do really love the body, so I guess if I really can't bond I could sell the head and get yet another Raccoondoll Sleeping Laetitia head (they only ever usually have 3 head types for sale, that one is my favourite!) Maybe I'll think about if another wig would help, too. Hard to say. I AM thrilled she's here though, and I'm looking forward to sewing pretty dresses for her, I just hope I bond with the head sculpt after all!

    2. There is a wide variety of human head sizes so it really gives a very normal assortment!

    3. @nancy_schroeder_ca True, but in the end it comes all down to personal preferences ... if you don´t like it, however irrational, then it will not work. I cannot stand these tiny heads on the super thick necks many of the +70 boys have, but lots of others seem to like them. It really can spoil liking a doll.
@morganatron She IS beautiful though. Hopefully you will find a solution for her!

    4. Thank you both!!! I changed her wig and started sewing a dress for her and I’m feeling much better about her now! Lol, it’s strange, sometimes you bond straight away, sometimes it takes a while! But I’m feeling much happier now!!! (I still might darken up her eyebrows at some point though!)

    5. Woohoo! I asked Jay if I could change the skin tone for my Juliet and Dominic and he said yes! Thank you all for your helpful answers and pictures.

So I made her a dress (when I should have been working on a commission, aargh, sorry!!!) and changed her wig and now I feel much better about her! And yes, I did make a dress in exactly the same colours as the dress in her promo pictures, I love that dress so much, but I want to save money to buy more dolls, not clothing, this was definitely a case of muttering “I have fabric at home.” I think the renaissance dress turned out well, mainly made with Antique Lilac’s amazing pattern, although I heavily altered the bodice to fit the corset bust. She is so fun to sew for!!! I want to make her all the (historical) things!!!!

    7. @morganatron That dress is lovely, the color suits her very well!

Here is Bryn, my Matias. I am not totally happy with his face up (beware special requests, especially when they are partially ignored), but I guess I am the only person noticing it. Also I am not that happy with the wig - it looked far better on the promo pictures! But apart from that, I like him!

    8. It's great to see all the Matias's!!! What did you request in the face-up that they didn't do? I'm sorry you're not happy with it, that's always so hard! I'm glad you can still like him, though!

    9. @morganatron I requested the upper lip from one offered face up and the lower lip from the other face up. That they did. But I also requested that both (upper and lower lip) should of course have the same color. Which would be logical to me anyway, but better safe than sorry. Well, that they didn´t. The lower lip is more red, the upper lip more orange. The lips are the most important thing of the face up for me, so it bothers me a bit. But I have no idea what to do about it, since everything else is perfect. But at least I learned from this that in the future I better stay away from such requests ;)

    10. ....Huh. Now that you point it out, I can actually see that! What a weird thing for them to do?! I can see how that would bother you, especially if it's more obvious IRL - I didn't notice in the photo until you pointed it out. Wow. I suppose you could ask them to fix it? Or try putting a pastel blush over it to even it out? (I know I wouldn't be confident doing that, but maybe you would be!)

    11. @Ashemanu You might try adding some red to the upper lip using a water color pencil and a damp brush. If you don’t like the result it will wipe off easily with water.

    12. I hadn't noticed either until you mentioned it and took a closer look. That is so strange that they would do that. Obviously something was lost in translation. I'm sorry that happen. He is still very handsome tho, but I also understand how certain things can bug you. I know one time a had an Iple doll that I loved everything about her face up but the lip color. They have given her an orangy color. I didn't have the skills to fix it myself so I sent it to someone who could. If you are able you may try some of the previous advice given, or find someone who can help you.

Have you mentioned this to Jay?

    13. @morganatron @nancy_schroeder_ca @Bren Thanks for your kind words! They encouraged me to try and fix it myself. I still have some pastels and paints left from the old days, even some reddish ones, if I recall correct. Maybe it will work ...

I didn´t mention it to Jay. He/she is always so helpful and tolerant with all my requests, I didn´t want to make a fuss about it. If it had been the complete face up, as with MBLilac´s Matias, then I would have said something. But I am really glad that I didn´t pose any funny requests with my Raphael order ;)

    14. Question for those of you who have boys. What stands do you prefer to use if you want them to stand or do you just rely on sueding and/or wiring to keep them upright? Alternately, has anyone DIY'd a solid stand for them?

I've reached a point with a sewing project that I need to try it on a doll, take it off, alter it a little bit and then try it back on but it would be really helpful to have a doll standing by to be my dummy but I don't fully trust Jarrad or Jude to stand if I'm fiddling about moving pins.

    15. Summer sale for July and August has been announced!!! Looks like some discounts on standard dolls and lots of new dolls!!! As far as I can work out the new 1/4 dolls will be: Laura, Demien and Ella will be added to Standard, and limited FIfth Season dolls Daniel, Edward, Nicole and Lesley. Looks like there will be limited Cocoa Brown skin and army style accessories with them too. So seven new dolls! And most of them look like new sculpts, not ones we've already had in SD size, so no idea what they'll be like - exciting!!! Oh, and there will be new Rosewater skin that will replace Warm Ivory skin. So it will be interesting to see what that's like too!

    16. I just use one of those standard metal doll stands. There's no way I'm trusting my dolls to stand on their own. And it's easy enough to hide the gripper part under their clothes, and the vertical support behind one of their legs.
