1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Second hand shops and your doll

May 15, 2007

    1. Lucky people! The city I live in is pathetic when it comes to secondhand shops; people always want new and trendy, so there is hardly any "old", "antique", or "vintage" items to be found. However, in the town I grew up in, a lady runs a vintage shop there. My mother has picked up a handful of cute stuff for my doll from there. I have a tea set, a cloisonne tea pot, various miniature hatboxes, a parasol...

    2. I love second hand stores. I've bought doll beds, the best msd sized table ever. Chairs and a Msd sized living room set. I never like any clothes but I bought a barbie bakery with all the cakes and things that fit my yosd's.

    3. I love thrift stores. I live in a really big city so I go to the rich neighborhoods to troll for fabric. I have more silk than I know what to do with. I then use rit dye remover to lighten the fabrics and redye. Full length dresses and skirts have the most fabric for the money plus they often come with tulle and ribbon detailing. Also most of the thrift stores I go to donate to local charities so win win.
