1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Selling: Do we need to justify it? (Sentimentality in sales threads)

Jul 15, 2009

    1. Personally, I'm more likely to buy a used doll if reasons for selling it are listed; simply because if no reason is listed, I would be wondering: is there something wrong with the doll such as yellowing or normal wear and weakness or something they simply elected not to mention hoping the buyer wouldn't think to ask. How much a person cares about their doll seems like it would go hand in hand with how well they cared for it and the condition it would currently be in.

    2. The seller always has to state yellowing/damage/general condition in the sales thread. Otherwise he would be lying to the buyer. The question is more about the seller's justification for selling and how we see it. Although I get what you mean. That's just because we feel really attached to our dolls. :)

    3. From the point of view from the sellers I just see it as polite to give a reason to sell something you've owned, it seems polite.
From a buyers, it's interested but not always necessary, occasionally though you'll see an amazing doll going relatively cheap and you're like "why is this? is there a catch?" providing a reason we can all relate "not bonding" sort of stops you worrying about a catch, helps you feel a little safer in the seller. They are human to, not jsut trying to scam you.

    4. I think is mostly human nature. When you buy something at the store you don't ask the salesperson why they're selling certain product. If anything you ask them why they don't carry certain product. That's because the buyers are coming to you for "IT". Is brand new and the buyer doesn't need to ask why, only how much. For example, somebody comes to your door and tell you they want to buy your house, above market value and the only thing they've seen is the outside. They wont be so picky if the owner doesn't really want to sell. When somebody offers something for sale there's always a reason behind it and the buyer wants to know. Mostly they want to make sure they're getting a good product and a good deal. But even more, they want to make sure that they're not getting cheated and that the seller won't change his mind. Sometimes the person needs the money desperately and that's the only reason they're selling it but they're still very attached to it. If they're not then the buyer thinks they can get a good deal.
