Shoes - how many pairs do your dolls have?

Aug 26, 2011

    1. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)

I have one doll and one pair of shoes XD

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

It's not so important really....My doll has several outfits, but only one pair of boots...I find the shoes to be more expensive (generally) than the rest of the clothes, and I don't mind barefoot looks (since he is elven/nature-oriented anyways) so shoes were not a priority. The dolls I have incoming have fantasy parts so I doubt I'll ever get them shoes.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?

      I take em off for some nature shoots, or put them on randomly. I only own one pair, so...^^;

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?

I could imagine getting my boy a pair of sandals, so he owns more than boots, but I don't think I'll be getting more than that. So 2, I suppose. He isn't so much of a shoe kinda guy ^^

And if you can still remember:
      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?

For my Migidoll Miho, who is re-homed, I tried to get him a pair of sandals, but they were way too big for him! So I sold them...XD And he was barefoot the whole time I owned him.

Hehe, I myself don't really like wearing shoes, so I suppose it's not a priority for dolls either :) I love being barefoot!

    2. I find it ironic that I loooove shoes but have bought very few for my dolls XD

      1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
I have four dolls, and I have three pairs of shoes that don't fit any of them (They belonged to my first!) Well, my Pipos Charlotte came with Resin 'feet' shoes? I guess that counts.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
I have more outfits than shoes, but I find it a lot easier to buy outfits in a rough size (SD, MSD, Slim MSD, YoSD, Tiny, etc) than shoes - especially if they don't give the inner length on the site. That, and I'm very picky about what shoes I buy, when I can easily buy a staple outfit I don't particularly adore. (I find it very hard to buy anything that I don't particular care about, even if I need new clothes or shoes)

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
When I have lots of shoes and lots of outfits, I shall change them to match :D Probably only if I was changing the outfit too at the same time.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
As many as I can buy ;) In an ideal world, as many as Imelda Marcos had!

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have? Three pairs (see above).

    3. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have?:
      1 - SD
      2 - MSD
Currently my SD has no shoes, and my MSDs only have a pair each

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?:
At the moment, the girls have shoes that work well with all outfits, though they tend to stay in a default outfit. I have a bunch of separates for my first doll, but she only has sneakers. My other MSD's shoes used to be my first doll's main pair, but they fit her character better.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?:
      At the moment, never.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?:
I think a couple pairs. I mean, sneakers are versatile, but they don't match with really cute dresses, and fancy shoes don't go with more laidback outfits. My biggest problem (outside of my girls having very small feet) is that I'm as picky with their shoes as I am with my own.

    4. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
My 1/6th scale dolls (of which there are many but very few can use the shoe collection) probably have about 50 pairs both handmade and purchased. My MSD has 7 pairs.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
I have way more outfits for my dolls than shoes. However, I like having a lot of shoes because i'm very particular about colors and shades being able to match. For example, if my doll is dressed all in lavender and white, i would want a pair of shoes that match that color scheme. Or if dressed all in neon green I want a pair of shoes that match that shade of green. I wouldn't say, use pine green shoes with neon green clothing.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
If I change their outfits and the shoes don't match I use different ones. Also a lot of the time I will let her go barefoot, she has very cute painted toe nails :P

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
This is very much up to the individual and I don't think it's something that can be determined. Some people don't like shoes on their dolls, or only have a set look, some people have many looks. For me personally, I just need shoes to make things balance out and match, for everyone else, to each their own.

And my first doll had 3 pairs of shoes waiting for her when she arrived (she's still here XD).

    5. sorry for double post!

    6. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)

I have two dolls (60cm, and 43cm), and each has more than one pair of shoes. My first doll (43cm) pretty much started off barefoot, since the one pair of shoes I bought for her didn't let her stand. Now she has 3 pairs, I think.

My other doll (60cm) has two pairs of shoes.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

The shoes work for more than one outfit, which is how my shoes work. I don't like getting shoes that can only go with one outfit, because I don't see the fun in that. They could be cute shoes, but if they can't go with anything else, I don't buy them - and I do the same for my own shoes. Even better if they can transition from everyday, going out to special occasion.

I like for them to do double duty because it saves money, and I can use the same pairs of shoes for multiple shots. My bigger doll has a pair of slip-on's and a pair of converse-like sneakers. He can wear his sneakers for any season, which helps me out because boots tend to cost a lot. With my smaller doll, she has sandals (obviously for part of spring and summer), a pair of sneakers (all seasons) and a pair of Ugg-like boots. Her shoes don't function for multiple seasons, and neither of them have shoes that can be used for very formal occasions. Not even my smaller one's sandals are fit for evening wear.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?

Not very often. I usually leave them in one pair of shoes for a long time, or they go barefoot.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?

For me, I'm one of those people who wants their doll to have clothes for every season, so I would say that they needed something for every season. That doesn't mean four pairs of shoes, but (ideally) two pairs that can be used at any time of the year. I don't want to really go into specifics, like a pair of sandals or a pair of boots because they might not be needed.

There should also be a pair that can be suitable evening wear shoe. Also preferably something that can go with a number of evening outfits.

Of course, this also depends on your doll's character, and if they wear clothes from this time period, or clothes of this world. My perspective is for dolls who are contemporary, non-otherworldly beings. Above all else, the shoes should fit the style/character of the doll, and the owner shouldn't buy anything that they don't feel their doll's character would ever wear. For example, one of my dolls would never wear very goth clothes, so I would never get her a pair of very gothic-looking boots.

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?

She had only one pair to start with, and now has three or four, total.

    7. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
I have 1 doll - 60 cm guy. Right now, he has one official pair of shoes.
      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
Shoes are, IMO, just as important as outfits. I want him to have shoes for every occasion.
      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
      I do not know yet.
      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
      Many. The more the better.

And if you can still remember:
      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have? This is still to be seen...

Myself, I am a shoe freak. And it is good that even men can have maaany shoes.:)

    8. Of all dolls with body, one of them still doesn't have shoes. I just can't seem to find the right pair for her.

But, considering all my dolls will only have one outfit, one wig, one pair of eyes and one pair of shoes, I want to be sure I buy the right pair for the right doll.

    9. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
I have 6 full dolls and a head!

My SD10 and Dollfie Dream can share the same shoes, between them they have - 11 pairs of shoes
My SDCs have the same size feet, but Rupert has 3 pairs of shoes, and Meli has 7 pairs (I distinguish between girls' shoes and boys' shoes)
My Yo has 4 pairs of shoes
      My Inkling has no shoes!

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
Shoes are every bit as important as the outfits, I think shoes pull a look together.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
As often as I change their clothes, every two weeks or so, or if I'm doing a photoshoot with them, costume changes can be more frequent.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
I used to think that dolls (especially boy dolls) only needed one or two pairs...but then my dolly shoe collection exploded! I shouldn't be surprised, I have always loved shoes myself, so my dolls were always going to be shoeaholics as well!

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
My first doll (a female Soulkid) had 4 pairs of shoes, but these have since been adopted by Meli.

    10. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
They all have a bag of shoes that they all share, I thing (on the last count) that they have about 15-20 pairs of shoes for msd, and I have no shoes for my SD guy. The yosd have 4 pairs together, and the sd girls have 3 pairs

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
I like to have some allaround shoes for everyday use, and some for outfits. I can't have boots or lolita platform shoes for a historical garment or army boots for a frilly pink lolita dress.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
When they need to show them selfs, either for a dollmeet or a photoshot.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
I think that would be like asking a woman the same thing, how many pairs of shoes do you need. The science say: 4 pairs (one for everyday, rain/terrain/mudd, one for finer wear and a pair for winter) Nut most of us have more then 4 pairs. It's up to the individual, some need only one or two but some might need several

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
      She had 3 pairs

    11. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
My boy has one pair, although he doesn't wear them ever. :P My girl has two pairs and she LOOOOVES her Dollheart boots!

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

Clothes > shoes for Xien, Clothes = shoes for Lincy has a pair that I got with a dress set so I generally only use them for that outfit; her green knee-high Converse work for all her other outfits!

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?

I change their shoes maybe once a month; I take their shoes/put them back on every once in a while.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?

As many as they want! XD

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
My girl has two pairs of shoes, both boots. XD

    12. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
My SD13 has two pairs, boots and maryjanes. My MSD just has one pair but I'd like to get a few more. And my pukipuki also only has one pair.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits? Not as important :/ I do think you should have more than one pair if you have more than one outfit because some just don't match every outfit!

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes? I'm not really sure! For my doll that has two pairs she changes them frequently as needed. different outfit? different shoes!

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have? Two for me, unless I really like a pair on their own, I usually buy shoes more for what they'd go with rather than how they look. If that makes sense

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have? Just one, so far!

    13. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have?
      1/3: 4 dolls (one doesn't wear shoes)
1/4: 2 dolls (again, one doesn't wear shoes)
      1/6: 1 doll

      Total pairs of shoes: 7

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

They are just as important as their clothing, to me. Most of my dolls only wear one pair of shoes or boots, as their sort of "default," but they're styles that go with multiple looks.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?

Pretty much whenever I change their outfit, although I do take shoes off whenever I know they're going to be sitting around for a while, because I don't want their feet to stain.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?

For me, it really depends... I have one doll who only ever wears one pair of boots because that's just how his character is, whereas another of my dolls wears five different pairs depending on his outfit and such. Minimum of one pair, but two is really better.

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?

8D She only has one pair, and she never wears them. Her style is a historical one that doesn't require shoes.

    14. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have?
Currently I have four dolls, three MSD and one YoSD.
13 pairs for MSD and 2 pairs for YoSD.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing?
Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

Not that important since I normally take portrait shots of my dolls as opposed to full-on body shots, so whether they wear shoes or not, no one can see them XD I have way, way more clothes than shoes, definitely. I feel that clothes are more essential than shoes. Most of the shoes/boots I have are very versatile and can work with a varieties of outfits, so I'm safe there!

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
Depends, really. Sometimes when I change their outfits, I'll change their shoes as well. Otherwise, they'll go barefoot!

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
Infinity? If I can afford it, lols! But on a more realistic side, I think 2 - 3 pairs should suffice depending on the doll.
Some dolls would be perfect with just one pair of shoes while another may fit a bunch of different ones.

And if you can still remember:
      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
2 - 3 pairs, I believe, it has been a while, so my memory is somewhat fuzzy there!

    15. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have?
I have two full dolls (heads don’t wear shoes, so I’m not counting them here!) and three pairs of shoes. A pair came with each of my girls and I bought the third, because I definitely don’t have enough shoes for them. <<:

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

I don’t have really set outfits. Each doll came with some clothing, and the shoes they had kind of went with what they hand, but I like mixing things up also.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
For the most part, they stay in the house. And I hate wearing shoes, so I don’t make them either. When we’re going outside or something, then I put them on though.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
I believe dolls are the same as women in real life – you can never have too many shoes (Although, I do. But I need them!)

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
She had one when she got here, now she shares with Aubree, and like I said, they have three.

    16. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have?
over 40 dolls, but four don't wear shoes (and three are incoming so I guess 36 who do the shoe thing). They all have shoes on, and I easily have enough shoes to shoe them all at least 1 more time =_= probably more.
I'm not listing, it will take all day, and they all share within their size anyway. I buy shoes to fit the biggest feet in the size group, and whatever pair is in the box and not being worn is up for grabs (though some dolls get priority over others and can steal shoes off feet)

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
It depends on the doll, some of them have many shoes that change with their outfits, some only have one pair that they keep all the time. If they do have special outfits they would get whatever pair of shoes goes best with it. And even though I have tons, I still borrow my roommates sometimes^^; I don't have a lot of girl shoes....

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
Again, depends on the doll. Some change weekly, some rarely or never.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
At least one, I guess. Unless they don't wear shoes.

And if you can still remember:
      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
Two, one pair of sneaks and a pair of boots. I bought them with him....now all the shoes are belonging to him. He just shares with everyone else.

    17. I have two pairs of MSD shoes and no doll yet, well at least i am prepared...lol

    18. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
36 dolls and most of those dolls have at least one pair of shoes (some don't wear shoes). I'd have a least 100 pairs of shoes I think.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?

I prefer to buy classic styles that go with a number of outfits when possible, so in the boys case they all have one pair each and a couple of pairs of boots to share around. The girls have a lot more variation in styles, so some dolls have very particular shoes that only match their clothes.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?

Whenever I want to change their outfit and the shoes don't match. That varies from doll to doll.

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
Again it depends on the doll. I can't even say each doll should have one pair, as I have dolls who are meant to be bare footed (and this doesn't included dolls with hooves!).

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
She came as a fullset but that didn't include shoes. I bought a pair second hand off a friend because that's all I could afford at the time, and they didn't suit her at all. It was better than nothing I guess.

    19. 1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have? (Please separate different size dolls/dolls who don't share shoes.)
2 SD girls who don't share, one has 11 pr, the other 8, 2SD boys who don't share, 7 & 5, 2 MSD twins who share 9 pair, and a tiny who has 7 pair
      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing? Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
As they have way more clothes than pairs of shoes, it is lucky that the shoes work for several outfits.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?

When the clothes change -- if they don't go.
      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
      More!

And if you can still remember:
      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
I still have her, she has 11 pair. In my list, the doll with the smallest number of shoes is just the doll who has been here the shortest time.

PS -- I hate buying shoes for myself and have few pair.

    20. This topic def caught my attention... cos I just realized I do NOT have enough shoes for my crew! Not enough meaning one boy is currently bare-footed!

      1. How many dolls do you have and how many shoes do they have?
9 full 65 cm boys & 1 Sdgr boy. Just one pair each for now. In fact, one boy is currrently bare-footed cos I cant find any extra black boots. Just ordered 2 pairs though.

      2. How important are your doll's shoes compared to their clothing?
Hmm.. think clothings are more impt to me. Since most of their outfits match basic black boots

Do you have as many shoes as you do outfits, or does one pair work for several outfits?
Preferably one pair works for many outfits. If they are in business suits... that is a different story.

      3. How often do you change your doll's shoes?
Almost never. At most just a round-robin among themselves since they are all the same size

      4. Ideally, how many pairs of shoes do you think a doll should have?
3 pairs. One basic black boots, one business shoes and one super duper cool sneakers. This is just meant for boys of cos. Gals can nvr have too many pairs of shoes.

      5. How many pairs of shoes did your first doll have?
4 pairs? But my first doll was a 60cm so his shoes doesnt fit any of my current boys.
