1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Should a customizer be held responsible for breaking a doll/doll part?

Jun 16, 2007

    1. YES YES YES!

They would have to replace it because it was their fault!

    2. you break it you bought it....same goes to anything in real life...doesn't matter if you ship it to them, or you hand it over. Once its in their hands its their responsibility.

Its an unwritten rule...I mean its no different then if i happened to accidentally damage my friends doll...I would feel obligated to pay for it.

If it seems to be shipping damage then I may be skeptical of paying full...maybe half. But isn't that what shipping insurance is for? I think Canada post offers it.

    3. Most countries offer shipping insurance for an additional fee--certainly with the new changes in the USPS, you can fully insure a package going to Canada. However, as I mentioned above, it's always the responsibility of the *shipper* to cover insurance (the owner when the doll goes out & the customizer when the doll comes back).

After all, the receiver has no control over how a shipper packs or ships a doll, and if it gets damaged on the way to its destination, the recipient has no ability to file a claim with the post. Only the shipper can do that.
