1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

should i keep the doll box or thrown them away?

Oct 20, 2014

    1. Now I keep all of boxes, because I store doll's clothes and shoes in it.

    2. I keep all the boxes in the basement, just in case I might need them some day :)
I don't keep them near me, because I don't have much spare room in the house xD

      And they're pretty ofcourse :D

    3. Only Amiga came in a nice box. I have saved it because it makes me smile when I see it. My first real BJD.

    4. I would definitely keep the box. Makes storing and moving them a lot easier and it was designed for the doll in the first place so its probably one of the safer things to transport the dolls in.

    5. If the boxes are nice I keep them and I keep my dolls inside them too.

    6. I always keep mine~ but they do take up a lot of room *_* It's good to keep them just in case you ever decide to move/sell your dolls.

    7. I keep them for storage mostly. But I think most of them are also too cute to throw away. ^^

    8. Only 2 of my dolls have come with boxes so far, I currently use them for storage but if the design of the box is cool I'm more likely to keep it purely for looks. The one box I have opens like a book and even though it was printed with only 2 ink colours (and a slightly off register plate apparently) the final result is quite beautiful! I can't see myself tossing it...

    9. I think it's a good idea to keep the boxes. It's good for storing them, and definitely for reselling, etc. Although I could see how it could be difficult to keep a large number of boxes if you have many dolls....

    10. I only have 2 dolls so keeping the boxes on the top shelf of my closet doesn't take up too much space. I've just been using it to keep some of my bjd extras like a floating head, some hands, clothes, etc.

    11. I keep all my boxes, cos they are so pretty and cos if I need to move, trade or sell, they'll likely come in handy. I like to store mine in one of my closets. They take up that whole closet. :sweat

    12. I keep all the boxes. Actually I don't have a lot of dolls (only 4 and a floating head, and only three arrived in a box) and MSD is the bigger size so they don't take a lot of space. I think they are handy to keep doll's extras and I'll ever have to move with my dolls or sell one.Two box are actually displayed on my doll shelf, but I stored the third in the closet.

    13. I keep mine, because of the potential reselling (even though it costs a lot to ship a big box out of the country :sweat). I haven't done a crazy big house move yet, but the few times I've changed houses, it's been so easy to pack the dolls away in their boxes and know they're safe from harm. I've even sectioned an old SD box to hold clothing/shoes and odd things.

So, if you don't have the room, it's ok to throw the boxes (but keep any certificates!). But if you do have room, it's safer to keep them.

    14. I always keep the boxes for all dolls unless a really, really inexpensive retail doll. My house looks like a box warehouse!

    15. I haven't got any BJD yet, but I think I'll keep the box to store my dollie things.

I think the best idea is turning the box to some kind of furniture :D

    16. I keep them because i think it's easier to sell the doll with the orginal box.. Some collectors wanted the box

    17. I keep all of my doll boxes plus the original shipping boxes

The shipping boxes are not so easy to find in US so I keep them in case they need to find new homes
at most only 2-3 of my dolls are out at any given time thus they all need their resting boxes

    18. I keep all the boxes, I have the bigger one filled with clothes and wigs and shoes and other accessories :XD:
Then another one just to store to cushions in, and a couple that are currently empty for various reasons (but it'll be useful to have some more when I'll get more clothes)

I was just thinking that I could turn my Soom teenie box into a Sofa, that'll probably be SD size though.

    19. I like to keep boxes because if I move I know there will be a safe place for my stuff. If space is a problem, however, and you don't have any ideas of selling the dolls in the future, you could throw them away so long as you have a safe bag or something for transport.

    20. I usually turn my doll boxes into their beds...just stick a cushion and a blanket on it, two wood scraps for headboard/footboard, and ta-da! New doll has something of their very own, and I just keep all their things inside the box. Of course, since I only have three dolls, (a 12cm tiny, a YOSD and a MSD) it works alright spacewise. If I had more dolls it'd be more of a problem.
