1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

should i keep the doll box or thrown them away?

Oct 20, 2014

    1. I keep my doll boxes, not to sell my dolls but when i need to move them or i'm going to move to another house then it is a easy box to carry them. :D

    2. I'll always keep mine. Cleaning it occasionally, cause I love the box who protect my dolls while they delivered to me. The boxes are quite useful too, I use mine to store eyes, clothes, shoes, wigs, etc.

    3. I've kept all of my doll boxes in my closet. Yes they take up space, but it's nice to have them just in case.
Most others made the points I was going to make here. It's just handy to hold on to them.

    4. I live in a flat and I don't keep all the boxes due to lack of space but I would do it if I could

    5. I'm moving next week so I don't really have the option of keeping the doll boxes. I've kept them for a while but they just take up too much space! I do contend that they're very useful though.

    6. I keep all the boxes my perfumes come in, so I know for certain I will be keeping my doll boxes as well.

    7. I usually keep mine. I love company doll boxes. And as stated above, It's nice to have them for when you are moving or selling a doll.

    8. I keep mine, though I need to re-organize them. They're all crammed in the tops of closets. I have quite a few dolls bought secondhand that I never had boxes for, and boxes for dolls I no longer have... when I buy secondhand I prefer to have the doll shipped in a smaller box unstrung to save on shipping costs in most cases, and most people I've sold to have wanted the same thing! If I was to move, I'd pack the dolls up in their boxes, but as it is now the boxes just take up space. I just have a hard time with getting rid of them, since almost all of them are pretty nice and have special printing and foil stamping and such.

    9. I'd say keep them in case you ever end up selling them or needing to store them! Plus it's just nice to have them sometimes I think ^^ sentimental value and all that. Or, you can use them to store clothes and things!

    10. My dolls 'sleep' in their boxes when I am not playing with them or taking them out. I haven't made them any room boxes yet to 'live in'. I would not buy a doll secondhand without it's box. I think 50 years or more, down the road, our heirs will appreciate having the box for these collectible dolls if we care for them well. I hope my dolls will 'outlive' me by a long shot. lol Dolls from days gone by have more value if they have their original box.

    11. I think it's a good idea to keep them, in case of selling or moving.

    12. I always keep all my dolls' boxes. To me, boxes are part of the doll so they are almost as important as the doll.

    13. I'm fully planning on keeping everything I get sent by the doll company. While I don't intend to sell any dolls, I think it's worth finding the extra space in my life for both the paperwork and the boxes.

    14. I keep the boxes of my dolls in a closet. I like to have the boxes for when I sell a doll or if I move.

    15. I keep all the boxes that I've deemed important in a pile in my closet. Since I'm a student, I need to have somewhere to store my dolls during holidays and other times I'm not there. Sometime I'll get something non-doll related in a box and I think "hey this will work perfectly for sending out a head for a faceup!" and then that too will be added to the massive box collection. So far I have 3 Doll boxes and 5 smaller "parts" boxes ;)

    16. I keep all boxes, before I started with bjd's I had horse figures and kept they're boxes (still collect them) and then moved onto bjds and keep the boxes from them too. That way when you sell them or need to move or something they have they're own boxes.

    17. I don't know about DoA, but in most Korean BJD communities throwing away the default box of your bjd is considered insane..!
we take it as a Meaningful thing, and when reselling the dolls, the presence of the soft covers, the box, and the leaflet can change the
      Sold price very much! :)
I suggest keeping them, I use them when I tuck-in my dolls!

    18. My first girl did not come with a box, but I want to keep the box for the second girl I'm getting soon. I mostly just want to keep it so that I have a safe place to keep her if I need to put her away for any reason, plus the Iplehouse boxes look really cool.

    19. I mostly toss 'em. I have yet to resell a doll, and just don't need these huge boxes cluttering up my place. I have a couple under my couch that I use for doll stuff storage, but I would like to get rid of those, too.

It sucks that the recast problem has made everyone so wary and forced decent, legit owners to have to keep large boxes and every scrap of paper that came with it to resell dolls.

    20. Like a total dolly addict, I keep all mine too.
With 15 big Iplehouse boys it takes up too much room really,
As I keep them in their boxed but I also need somewhere to keep all the accessories so they go in the shippers.
Currently I have at least 4 shippers full of Christmas baubles! The bubble wrap comes in handy too.
