1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Signs of doll addiction

Oct 16, 2012

    1. "Oh look, my very first doll head, how nice! I should get a body for him soon, and then that'll be that.I think I only want just one."

..."OOoh, look at him! I want him! and he's be PERFECT for me! Ad maybe her..."

    2. I sit on my bed and stare at my dollies. Just staring, sighing.. and about my internet browser.. I don't think anybody I know could handle it haha! I'm also working so much overtime because I'm currently saving up for a new dolly :D

    3. yeah i have almost if not all of them i talk about my doll i plan to get at first i was like just one....within the next hour i find 10 more i want...lol i have it bad to.:P

    4. My signs that im addicted is I look at doll sites and look up dolls on flickr and instagram at least a million times a day lol.. It annoys my friends -.-

    5. I keep a multiple tabbed spreadsheet with all the clothing and accessories that I glean from hours of scouring the web and then move items from the first tab (want) to the middle tab (ordered/preordered) and then finally to the third tab (arrived). Needless to say, the "want" sheet has a lot of listings. Occasionally, I find out that an item is discontinued and I remove it. Sigh, too much stuff and not enough money. I would only admit this here.

    6. I wouldn't call it much as a addiction but when I had a very busy weekday and got really stressed out, I would spend Saturday on my laptop the whole day shopping for doll goodies. And sometimes I would think I've gone a bit far. But than I'm like what the heck I do this with gaming all the time XD

    7. My Volks Syo was the first non second hand Volks doll I ever bought. When I opened his box, the delightful new resin smell wafted out. I couldn't resist picking him up and sniffing him. Just then my husband walked through the front door, gave me the o_0 look and said, "I'll leave you two alone" and walked straight back out. But like I told him, I can quit any time I want to.

    8. LOL At least it was the full doll? My husband caught me sniffing Loki's shoe.....it smells like real Vans....he found it very disturbing that I would know this. :P

    9. o.O It's started for me too! It's funny, I'm to cheap to buy new clothes for myself but I would happily shell out $30+ for a new outfit for my little girls! That shows my priorities in frightening clarity! :sigh

    10. I'm definitely guilty of 2, 7, and 8!

    11. lol, i have a whole week free to myself right now, and i've been doing nothing but shopping for my doll and making her clothes and i got a case that was MUCH sturdier than the diaper bag i was using just so i could take her to a meet next weekend XD i even made a seat to go inside the case so she fit better (out of a dress shirt box XD one of my friends got a ton of dress shirts in nice boxes for xmas). I've also been obsessing over anything small sized, i found a marble thing that works as a crystal ball, a disco ball, a rubix cube, and alot of other things for her just lying around. Currently im obsessively trying to find small patterned wrapping paper or wall paper and cardboard to use for "walls" for a room made out of a bookshelf

    12. It's scary how much we all have in common! Anyone else wish they had a ray gun that could shrink items to dolly size? I'm not even joking,I think about that a lot!

    13. DahliaDevere I agree with one that one lol. As for me l'm always taking about them and looking for stuff/furniture etc for them.

    14. When I read all those posts I smile. A lot of what's been said here applies to me. So it's officially stated : I have become a BJD addict. No day passes without looking at dolls on the internet, when I'm in a store there's always something the boys could use, I had taken more pictures of them than of my own children past year . And I even passed on my addiction to my eldest daughter. When we go shopping together , we always seem to find something that could be "cute for the boys". Sometimes I wonder what people think when they hear us talking like that.

    15. Hello. I'm not just a member of the doll addicts club, I'm also the president!

Honestly...I average 10 a year. Trying to cut back this year. I was aiming for five but already on a layaway for 2!

    16. I'm not the only one???O.O
      THANK GOD!
LOL,i feel like a BJD nerd...

    17. This year before Christmas, I was out shopping for gifts at a little 'locally made' craft store. There were some dog beds that had been built as miniature four-poster bed sets, all with matching drapery, pillows, and sheets. My boyfriend was with me, and I was literally FREAKING out over them - "Ryan, Ryan! Look! They're little doll beds! They'd be PERFECT for the MSDs or Tinies! Maybe that one would fit the SDs, too..."

It was at that point I realized that, A.) there were people staring at me like I was nuts B.) my boyfriend was shaking his head and laughing helplessly and C.) I had called them 'doll' beds without blinking an eye, when they were labeled 'dog' beds.

...sign me up for the next 12 step program. XD

      La

    18. So far I've only been intent on owning one doll..In particular. I see tons I like, but usually the ones I REALLY like are the same sculpt XD

    19. heh, this is a great thread. Been a bjd owner for about a year and I can already see the symptons ;D

      1. I no longer buy pricy clothes for myself, such goes to my dollies
      2. Was hobby craft stores and flea markets always this fascinating to be in?
      3. 3 orders for clothes and one doll coming, can't stop shopping
      5. I have really improved my 'bye byes' and 'good nighties'
      6. I no longer understand other people seeing dolls as creepy, they are just beautiful on their own way
      7. Is it weird for a guy to stare at women's clothes thinking how they would look on his dolls?
      8. My friends think I've found a girlfriend when I start to talk about my girls

    20. browsing doll company websites in the office, and thinking what should be the next doll target XD
