It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Sleeping faces - do you have/use them?

May 11, 2013

    1. I just have one with totally closed eyes, Cantarella. I'm working on making him look like he's enraptured by listening to music. He could be a blind composer, or a perfumer, if I cared to create a fixed backstory. Dolls with almost closed eyes can look sensual, shy, sad, etc. One good thing is that you can get away with using a cheaper set of eyes, lol. A lot of the expression depends on how the eyebrows are done.
I've got really mixed feelings about people modding eyes open, having seen a couple of limited heads that IMHO were ruined.

    2. I'm new to the hobby so I am on a low budget but I do want a SP head eventually. Especially whenever I buy a Minifee. Maybe not for my first Minifee but eventually I'll buy one :D

    3. I'm a huge fan of sleeping faceplates, but then, I love to take photos of my dolls. I think that's when it comes in handy the most!

    4. I love dreaming/sleeping dolls. They look so ethereal

    5. I do have a doll if like to get that has the option to order 3 different face plates for it. But all my current dolls are wide awake.

    6. I don't have much desire to own a sleeping doll, although I do like certain sculpts with narrow eyes and Doll Love's winking doll (Midsummer).

    7. I don't have any and the friends that I know that do never switch them from their open eyes because it's a hassle. I think I'd only use them for maybe a photoshoot. Otherwise I wouldn't switch them, especially every night.

    8. I actually fell in love with my first doll's (he wasn't planned to be my first but he became the first one) dreaming head (SWITCH Hahwa) because he had this mysterious and slightly sexy air around him.

As for sleeping heads, I wouldn't have a character who JUST has a sleeping head but they're super beautiful and I like having flexibility to change the expressions of my character as much as I can so I am planning to get more than one head (awake, dreaming, sleeping) if possible for everyone. :) And for those who don't have it available officially, I'm planning to buy extra heads to be modded. :D

(Already have a SWITCH Milhwa getting painted right now because his awake head grew on me eventually despite my initial dislike.)

    9. Same here, I never had interests for sleeping faces. Yup, it's okay to have one but it doesn't really feel so bad if you don't have one.
Just an added extra extra, of course.

    10. I don't get sleeping heads, but looking at my ante when I put her in the bed with open eyes made me wonder if I should. I am getting a free bonus one with my arubi so I shall see how I feel about it then :)

    11. I dont like sleeping heads.....just doesn't make sense to me.

    12. I ordered a sleeping face with my first doll. At that time or ordering her I thought I would like to change the sleeping head on her at nights, but oh I haven't really touched it at all. But I'm glad I did order it, so I can do an eye opening mod on her! Someday...

    13. I would totally grab a sleeping head if I had the funds for it or if I did my own faceups, but I think paying for the faceup twice over is too much of an expense for something I wouldn't use all too often. They're very pretty though!

    14. I personaly really like sleeping faces. It completes the doll and some are really awesome for photoshoot!

    15. If possible I prefer to have the option of a sleeping head. As mentioned above they're great for photoshoots. I might not use the sleeping heads very often, but I know I'd regret it if I didn't get them when I had the chance.

    16. I ordered a sleeping head. I don't foresee much use in it, but I do like to pose them as if they were looking down at something. Photoshoots turn out really beautiful too, since sleeping heads give off a softness and a sense of vulnerability.

    17. I wouldnt buy sleeping face bjds. Its too difficult to take a beautiful and realistic photo for the sleeping doll in outdoor area. But i still see many people own one in flickr.

    18. I really love the sleeping option. My girl Daiquiri is a Bobobie/Resinsoul Mei and they offer another doll, the Fei girl doll which is Mei except with a sleeping head. I always thought about getting both so that I could have more versatility in Daiquiri's character.

    19. I don't have any, though I've been tempted by a few. I do like the idea of the photo-ops, but I can't see myself going through the trouble of switching out their heads for it (I get sometimes annoyed even having to take their wigs off... lol I'm lazy). This is especially because I have a doll whose head is really not easy to remove (you have to dislodge the S-hook from the headcap, and then take the S-hook itself out because it has no way of fitting through the neck hole, all while carefully making sure the doll doesn't just snap and go all unstrung lol) and that was my first doll - so she made me a bit afraid of head removal even though most other dolls have the easy kind of heads with keyhole necks and whatnot.

    20. I have a sleeping faceplate for my Feeple65 girl and I'd like to use it, but her headback has been damaged so I'm just overall very scared of taking off her faceplate unless I absolutely have to. If I ever do replace her headback I'll use it though, and all the dolls I plan on getting that do have the option of a sleeping faceplate I intend to get with said faceplate as well. I doubt I'd get a doll that ONLY has a sleeping faceplate though, I like having the option but I don't think I'd enjoy having my dolls asleep the entire time. I'd probably only get one of those if I was intending to mod the eyes open.
