1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Smart Dolls?

Jun 23, 2015

    1. i know they aren't BJD but i have been looking into smart dolls and don't know if i want them yet and wanted to see what people with smart dolls think about them. If you have a smart doll please tell me about them, do you like them? is the doll worth buying yet?

      thanks guys

    2. I do not actually own one myself, but I have looked up information on them. Quite frankly, the difference between these and BJDs doesn't seem to be a whole lot aside from the Smart Dolls being made of vinyl and the way they are designed is with a skeleton poseability instead of, well, ball-joints. They appear similar to the Dollfie Dream line from Volks. The caring for them is very similar (avoid bright sunlight, dark clothes can stain, etc) as well, and the price is around the same as most BJDs of that size that I've seen. I suppose whether or not you go for one of these dolls just depends on what your 'aesthetic' is; whether you like the body type, the face, the anime-esque style, etc.
