Shipping notice on romantic matcha green toad with his blushed crown (and a few rain jackets).

I ordered my pink Rabi today too! No updates on the picture requests for side shots of Tom and ear mechanism of Rabi. I hope Soom will share some photos (maybe after their convention weekend). It will be pretty necessary to see Rabi's mechanism for those of us ordering X-mas kits.

Anyone planning to enter the Holiday photo contest with their cutie pie? I think Toad will be my star, perhaps new Toad will arrive in time to be featured too.

 

Oh gosh she is so pretty Anna. Thank you for sharing her, I want to re-paint my kitty soon since I first painted her as a rush job in time for Dollism, and the little accents that Soom added to her blushing are really inspiring. I really love the all the shine on her paw pads

Your ears seem to fit so snuggly now, I think I need to be more critical of my own Kitty's ears, mine swing around really freely on her head with a visible gap between the face plate and ears.

It's great to see a Pukifee dress is an option, I keep wishing there is this gold mine of nappy choo clothing out there waiting for us, but I have yet to find it. Maybe I'll have to wade into TaoBao at some point.

 

Anna, faved your photo! My lati yellow clothes are bit baggy, I'll go through more clothing to see if anything fits better. I had a few pukipuki sized clothing but laughed picturing them trying to get into those.

SaturnRose showed me an instagram photo and in it there was a LightViolet Toad! I really hope these aren't prize only choices for the photo contest. Hopefully an upcoming SO! And I'll wade into figuring out TaoBao with you.

I am working on names, I think I now want to stick to foods (possibly desserts) for all cutie pies. I have been thinking about Pistachio, Wasabi, and Matcha for the Toads. Any other green food or dessert suggestions?

 

I would love seeing them in their raincoats!

I ended up ordering Pink Rabi Kit and that is all, trying to be good!

 

Congrats! I'd love to get a Pink Rabi (and my Littlefee Rose, Usa, would love it too - she loves anything that is pink and bunnies, so its perfect), but I was able to snatch an Aileendoll Violet in the third release, so I have no dolly money left. I will look forward to seeing everyone elses cuties tho!

 

Thanks Lubelle! That Violet is sweet, I wonder what a CutiePie dragon would look like. I need a Sheep, Dragon and Monkey, perhaps an orange resin Kitty and my family is complete lol! There will be plenty more cuties I'll want though!

My Rabi shipped yesterday! She needs to be strung but hopefully that all goes quickly and well!

 

There are issues with my Rabi, so please everyone, look over your CutiPies when they arrive, at least within your 7 day time frame. Also the gourd case may be missing.

 

Oh dear, I'm so sorry. My Tom is before shipping. I wonder how long it will take for him to get here.

 

My Rabi kit has arrived as well, I'm disappointed my gourd case was also forgotten and it is listed in the included items on the x-mas kit listing: http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1417167061

There were no additional instructions included or photos on the website to assist with assembly of the new ear mechanisms but I was able to figure it out, here is how I've strung her ears (both are attached by s-hook - Soom included 4 teeny tiny s hooks for both sets of ears.)

While stringing her I discovered her S-hook won't go through the opening on her left foot, a mix of not sanded enough or the s-hook is too big. The hook drops in perfectly on her other foot, but after 30 minutes of fussing with her left foot it's not going in.

I absolutely love Soom cutie-pies but I am so frustrated with the quality control issues. I had to send my mocha teddy in for repairs due to a face plate gap, the ears on my kitty never sit properly and the resin hole for her head back s-hook has eroded so much that the s-hook falls right through and she can't be strung, and now the left foot issue and lack of gourd with Rabi.

With Kitty I thought I'd try to fix her myself, but I'm so tired of that mentality I am going to go to soom with the issues Rabi has arrived with. Hoping for quick resolution of my issues, and Soom improves their quality control in the future.

On a happier note Rabi's resin is very lovely, and I really like this method of ear attachment. I'm looking forward to painting her once I have a left foot that can be strung.

 

Do they all come as kits? I thought they were assembled. That is what the web site says.

 

They were offered assembled or as a Xmas kit at a reduced price.

 

Yep, like nancy said, when cutiepies are sold during the time of the 'xmas kit' events, Soom will offer them as kits. I believe it happened after the initial release though. Your Tom should be fine, excited for you! I wanted him as well but it didn't work out.

I'm actually happy I don't get the cutie pies with painting because of my off and on issues. - It has happened where they don't notice issues and paint and string the doll as well. I had to return my Teddy and the wait to have that all sorted was absurd. Quality control was one of the things a few of us mentioned in the Soom customer survey, I wish they would have just spent a few more days or a week looking over my dolls before sending them. I've had issues with the larger dolls as well actually. So right now I am still waiting for a reply from Soom but I feel I can't look over the rest of the doll yet.

Also thank you so much SaturnRose for the photo! So the faceplate fits fine with the elastic on the hook there as well?

edit: I also have an issue with the s hook not going in Rabi's right foot.

 

I got an email from Soom saying that there is a delay in the body blushing and Tom won't get shipped until after Mar 27. I wonder what is going on there.

I think the Gem team at SOOM might be having a stressful time this year, I know they are attending a lot of conventions. They also lost their photographer so their director is now taking all the promotional photos for their dolls as well.

I have heard from SOOM regarding my Rabi issues, my problem will be solved but overall I'm becoming frustrated with the ongoing issues.

First for the missing gourd case (which was included in the listing for the Mocha teddy kit in 2013, and the Rabi kit of 2014) Soom tells me that they wrote the gourd case was included for Rabi by mistake in the x-mas kit description and we weren't supposed to get it, but they will send me one anyway. I found that statement really weird... I can understand that they don't include the pink box for the kits, but up until now they included the gourd case and had it in the listing, to suddenly be told we shouldn't expect it even though they included it in the listing seems really, off?

I wouldn't want to own a Cutie Pie without it's gourd case, I don't consider the kit discount to outweigh the need for a case so if they take it away on their future kits it's unlikely I will purchase another cutie pie as a kit.

As for my Rabi who has one bad foot they have asked me to send back the entire doll with certificate for replacement.
It really takes the magic out of enjoying these dolls when 3/5 times I have opened the cutie pies and had to send them back for an issue. I want to open a doll and be happy that it is here and excited to paint it and take photograhs. Instead I have anxiety checking for problems, and then sadness that I have to go through the process of sending it back and waiting another 2 months to have it back and begin to enjoy it.

I'm glad Rabi will be fixed and SOOM replies to Q&A quickly but I feel they should be doing more for customer's than saying we are sorry and will take better care next time when this is the 3rd time this has happened.

Sorry to be such a downer, I think I'm sad that Rabi is so cute and I want to play with her and introduce her to my resin family, but instead she has to be shipped away right after she got here.

 

I guess I'm one of the few that hasn't had any issues with Soom (and I own like 6 soom dolls).

Since I just finished stringing Tom tonight after finishing up blushing his parts and only have the face to go. Tho I really wish I had the money at the time to also have gotten a Rabi kit as well.

 

tom is out for delivery here in Sierra Vista. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will have no problems. I'll take pics when he gets here.

 

He should be fine! My issue was the magnet on Rabi's head was totally see-through, so it looked like a big round grey stain on the head. Things like magnets seeing through and head caps having gaps don't bother me as much when it's a doll that needs a wig, but it's a bit different with these anthros. The right foot didn't fit either, so I just sent back the entire doll. Hopefully I will get my replacement Rabi back soon! Soom told me they'd string the doll for me, we'll see. Maybe it will be a cute box opening? I won't get a kit with the Cutiepies again though - I should have learned my lesson when I lost Teddy's arm piece for a good while in my office (I was stringing and it went flying lol).

 

He is here. He looks grand. He came with his gourd case and an extra pair of eyes. BUT, they didn't attach his tail. They send two tiny S hooks and a about 3-4 inches of elastic. But no directions. Plenty of directions on how to attach rabbit ears, but nothing one tails. Does anyone know where I can find the directions?
