Soom CutiePie 12cm Anthros Discussion Part 1

It looks like you may want to request a refund on that blushing - at least complain so it doesn't happen to anyone else :/ perhaps there's a new person blushing.

 

I have the same issue with Kitty. If you look back to Mica's picture of grey Paul you can see the magnet sticking out at the base of his left ear.

The sockets aren't deep enough for the ears to sit flush with the head, I think the primary issue is the base of the magnets are flat against a curved surface and I don't think the ears will ever sit flush for that reason, even though they look perfect in the promo shots :/

I also found the ears swivel A LOT because the ears aren't sitting flush with the head, the only point of contact are the points on the edges of the ears and it's not enough friction to keep them in the right position. I think they will have issues with the larger eared animals. It's unfortunate this issue hasn't come up before since larger ears weren't present on Toad or Teddy.

I don't recall if I mentioned it, but my Kitty arrived with extremely thin resin inside the head where the S-hook sits to the point that it quickly eroded into a large hole where the S-hook is unable to be held inside the head. I'm unable to string Kitty at this time because the S-hook won't stay inside her head cap. I've decided against sending Kitty back since I think I may be able to fix it myself and since it is an internal flaw it won't be visible. I don't want to go through the hassle of sending another doll back for repair.

Although I did show all of these issues to the Soom director at Dollism in NY. She took photos of the issues with the magnets in Kitty's ears and the resin eroding inside Kitty's head so their quality control department knows about these issues.

 

I'm starting to feel the excitement with all the XMAS events popping up.

I hope that means there is a new cutiepie who will appear for us before the end of December. I will most definitely purchase whoever comes out next especially if they are available as kits.

Any guesses who the next animal will be? I'm going to wager a guess on snow themed bunnies, some pastel resin choices would be amazing though. I'd love to see the bears in pastel colors or a bunny.

 

That sounds amazing! Putting Teddy together was tough for me, it didn't matter if the floor was clutter free or not, if something fell, it took ages to find it again. I think it was an arm pieces went flying off while stringing.

I should be getting my Frog Prince on Monday! It should have arrived today though, unsure what the delay was :/ oh well.

I'm waiting on tea green romantic toad and I payed for blushing on the crown. (Oh and a couple rain coats.)

I was thinking a lot about the cutie pie bodies the other night, don't forget for clothing we can search on other websites for clothing for Nappy Choos and they will fit perfectly. I was looking at the Nappy Choos since I love the body so much, and wondering if I could hybrid the body with a different head. I noticed that the Nappy Choos have not yet been released with a double jointed torso like the cutie pies. I wonder if the Nappy Choos will eventually be released with the same torso.

 

Sadly the raincoats were sold out! I just got him blank, Tea Green, no eyes, no blushing or paint. So that may be why.

I'd love other Nappy faces and love the double torso on the CutiePies. And that is a great idea! I'll look around.

He is the best! And my daughters all want him too. I like how I don't need to worry about wigs or magnetic pieces falling off with Toad!

Soom has released such a lovely assortment for Christmas

I'm still trying to figure out fox's head. It looks like Soom has taken our feedback to heart and tried to eliminate the magnet issues we've been having on ears by attaching them to the faceplate. That being said I'm unable to tell where the faceplate ends and the headback begins on fox, I can't find the seam line on any of the photos. I'm pretty confidant the ears are now part of the head since they also left ears off of the fantasy part listing for Tom.

As for the bunnies I think the ears are attached with an s-hook, I thought I could see a little piece of metal in one of the photos. I am really curious about the mechanise that is holding the ears in. I love that they include both the straight ears and floppy ears with each doll.

I wonder if they will be released as xmas kits?

I am 100% going for pink bunny, I can't wait to blush her
I'm on the fence for a fox, debating if I could turn the white skin into a corgi. Gosh I love those puffy tails.

 

I SO want a Pink Bunny, deliberating on the Fox. I'll need to ask Soom for a second outfit drop down just in case I only want one doll and 2 different colour outfits. I think it would look really cute on my Puppy.

Congrats Marti I'm really excited to see some foxes around, I was admiring their cute paws today.

I posted a message to Soom's Q&A asking if they could share a picture of Tom from the side with us so we can see where his seam line falls.
I also asked if they could share a picture inside Rabi's head so we can see how the ears connect, or if they could describe the attachment to us. It will be very important to know for those of us who order the xmas kits.

Does anyone know how long it takes Soom to ship? Weeks, Months?
