1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Faery Legend discussion part 4

    1. I just bought a Monique "Pretty Girl" in white :D So hopefully that'll be just right :) Thanks for the rec!

    2. Glad I could help. You might need a wig cap or something to help it stay on. I put a tiny line of hot glue on the forehead and at the back of his head. I had to do the same with Dolf (Lume Light Blaze, who also wears a size 4) to help their wigs stay on.

    3. If you don't want to use hot glue, you can buy the Pitatto Wig Stopper velcro from VolksUSA. I use that to keep the wigs on my Idrial, Nenad, and Rick. You have to replace it from time to time but one sheet can last you a while. However I find the wigs still like to pop off - well on Nenad at least. So I might try that hot glue trick on Azur.

I'm eyeing the one with that comes with black and blue for him because that might be the closest I get to his full set wig without commissioning someone.

    4. I thought his fullset wig was just black! I didn't realize it was multi-tone. Good luck on finding a nice one :D I think a lot of the Monique ones look really close to a lot of the standard Feary Legend wigs and I'm glad they come in a lot of colors. It took me a while to narrow down my choice to just one.

I have silicone glue I use for cosplay bits that I plan on putting on the inside of the wig cap. Hopefully, that'll keep it in place :D

    5. I smeared silicone caulking on the inside of Sleet's wig (I made it so I wasn't worried about "ruining" it as I'd just make another) and I find it helps a bit in keeping his wig on his head. I have Sleet's default wig from Soom but that refuses to stay on his head.

    6. All my dolls, including my Soom fairies have silicon wig caps in size 4" or 4-5". They help so much in keeping their wigs on their heads, and I'd highly recommend them. Only my Noellia has her fullset wig, and that hardly stays on at all without one.

    7. @Leo Pheonix where did you find the silicon wigcaps in that size?

    8. Denver Doll Emporium sells them. They also have glass eyes in 8mm and 6mm.

    9. @Leo Pheonix Thanks!

I know size 6 and 8 fit in their heads just fine (8mm is what Soom suggested) but what about 10mm? Has anyone used those?

    10. 10mm is too big for my guys. They're both wearing 6mm Dreaming Tree eyes. But that also depends on the eye size/shape of the sculpt in question and I can't speak for the Azur since I don't have one.

    11. I think I'll stick to size 6 and 8 then. I don't want to buy eyes I can't use.

    12. I got a few different size 8mm eyes on the way for Noellia.

    13. @Anneke Yeah I know size 8 fits in them. DDE has some really nice size 8 eyes that I would like for Azur but I want to make sure he actually ships before I buy them.

    14. I got so excited I have to admit I went a little nuts. I got three wigs and three pairs of eyes coming for Noellia, and now the silicone cap too. Her default wig and eyes are lovely but I just wanted to make sure I had some extra choices lol. It’s been so long since I bought doll stuff so I also was taking the chance to learn where to buy stuff again (and in the process got new eyes and wigs for several dolls!)

    15. I have a Noellia and 8mm eyes are a bit too big. They fit, but were shadowed enough that they looked very dark. I have 6mm eyes in all four of my fairies.

    16. I forget which size I have in all of them...I think Nenad or Idrial has the size 6. The other two have size 8. But I am a huge fan of Oscar Doll eyes or something similar so of course I have those in them so no matter what there are eyes are shiny haha. It is interesting how size 6 is better for some but size 8 is listed on the Soom measurement table.

    17. I adore Oscar Eyes, too. A lot of my guys wear them. So sad they closed. If you wanted eyes almost identical to Oscar, Swan Doll: SWAN DOLL makes some and they do make 6mm and 8mm sizes (6mm are currently sold out and colours are VERY limited).

I can make 6mm eyes but holy-moley, they are a PITA to do so and hats off to the companies that make eyes this small or smaller. 6mm are usually the ones with the highest rate of flaws that make them unusable, too (usually big air bubbles) no matter how carefully I drip the resin into the mould.

    18. Yeah, I'm sad they closed too. Their site is even gone so if I decide to part with any of them, I will have to rely on emails to get the color name correct. Oh wow SWAN DOLL has some really nice eyes! Thanks for introducing them!

You're braver than me to make eyes! I tried to commission Sprouty Doll once but that didn't work out and now they don't make eyes? I guess eyes are really difficult!

    19. Oh wow, they have purple ones! Oooh heck I wonder if they will restock any time soon >.>
