Soom Idealian 75cm Discussion Part 10

Jun 10, 2021

    1. I wouldn't trust these measurements. Soom changed them a while ago and they're totally off, I have no idea why they did it. The shoulders are absolutely not 17, and the neck is not 12.5, among many other places it got changed. They changed it to measure the shoulders from mid width instead of full width for some reason (which basically no one uses), if you buy stuff using those measurements you're not going to get anything that fits.

You would do best to go off the original measurements they had, which can be seen in the last image of this link.

    3. Thank you both for your help I have a few bodies I am looking for clothes for and I want to make sure that size works :3nodding:

    4. I also want to point out that depending on the body, some slim 75s are still wider in the shoulders than id75, which is on the smaller end overall for 75cm dolls. So if you're having something custom made, definitely go with the body you ordered's shoulder measurements!

    5. Yeah I noticed that, luckily the clothes I already ordered aren't for the new DZ 75, but a slimmer body with less huge shoulders. I'm gonna do a big think about the new DZ body and an off topic body in terms of clothes to make sure I get it right :)

    6. I don't think the new DZ75 slim is that much bigger than ID75, having seen them side by side, but one of the few places they're larger that will make a difference how clothes fit is height and shoulder width T_T It sure is an adventure with almost every new "75cm" doll being more than 75cm tall and being way bigger than ID75.

    7. No it's by a centimeter which may not be bad, and depending on the vibe the waist won't be too bad but unfortunately for me I want well fitting stuff so a 4 cm difference is pretty extreme *_* Plus the hips being 2cm off is concerning if I want things to fit. I will have to alter my Lupin's clothes and maybe do custom for my impldoll boy.

    8. One of my stupid concerns with trying to find a first outfit for my DZ75 is the hip girth and would he split his pants. I have a stupid worry about it being too tight in the crotch, as if he was a real person. Hahaha.

      • x 1
    9. Well I actually think the hip girth is good and depending on if you got the magnetic pee pee, you can just do no pee pee so the pants fit for sure.

    10. Oh, yeah.... I forgot that people do that. I need to keep that in mind. I think I'll try to look at some id75 outfits for him soon.

    11. Hi all, I just got an ID75 body and I’m wondering about other companies’ hands that will fit my character better. Ideally I’d like him to have long nails but I don’t like jointed hands (pretty sure Soom’s only long nail hands are jointed).

Does anyone know if Dollmore’s Glamor Dollpire hands would fit an Idealian? Glamors are 71cm I think but their hands look pretty big. SartoriaJ makes long nail male hands too, but it’s hard to tell how big they are. I’m also looking at Iplehouse EID hands.

I’d appreciate any hand comparison pics between Idealian and similar sizes, even if you don’t know if they fit! :eusa_pray

    12. Idealian does have non jointed long nail hands, but only with very old releases, it would be difficult to find someone to sell only a pair to you.

SJ is probably a good bet, otherwise I believe Dollzone has long nailed hands for 75s as well, but I think the wrist may be slightly smaller.

    13. Haha yeah, I’m definitely not interested in hunting down some ancient Soom parts. And thanks, I didn’t know Dollzone had long nail hands! The fingers are so skinny though. I’ve been out of the loop lately, are the Dollzone 75s in the wild yet? I’ve never seen owner photos of one. I’d love to see it next to an ID75 to get an idea of how compatible the hands are aesthetically!

I did manage to find some very old posts about the Dollpire hands, but not many pics. At the time I think Idealian wasn’t out yet, because people were trying them on Super Gems but said the hands were “huge”. So I think I’m gonna get them just to try. And maybe the Dollzone ones too haha

    14. The DZ75 is probably one of the leading 75 bodies in China atm, you can find a sleuth of pics on CN social media because it's crazy popular. He has more a dehydrated muscle look with slimmer arms and legs than the 'thicker' look of the ID75, very dorito, so I believe the wrists may fall ever so slightly small in size.

    15. Yea, that's exactly why I'm worried the aesthetic of the hands won't work for an Idealian... even if the wrist joint did fit, those spindly fingers might look really weird on the beefy Idealian!
Unfortunately I've never figured out Chinese social media. :sweat I could only find a handful of DZ75 owner photos on Instagram, and if the body has been shipping for a while then I have to assume there are more owners but Instagram sabotaged the search functionality. u_u Comparisons were so much easier to find when everybody just used forums, lol!

    16. You can probably sand some of the veininess off of those long nailed DZ hands! It's something I considered. I honestly can't remember if I ordered a pair or not. If I did, I can check whenever they arrive, lol!

    17. @overlordu - my Zak Jotunheim has long fixed hands, there might be other colour releases around to be had where the owner preferred the jointed over the fixed. the other Soom pair I have shaped like this are for the smaller Benmore supergem, so check the size of you see them around.

I think i have some 70 class Dollpire hands around, but my stuff is all packed up, still trying to get sorted out. if i can find them I'll take a pic on a ID75 and @ you :thumbup

here's the pretty hands, they are some of my faves for fixed fantasy hands:

    18. I have a few pictures of my DZ75 next to my ID75. As this was just a general comparison, I didn't get detailed shots of hands and feet, and stuff, but you can kind of see them next to each other in the pictures toward the bottom of the gallery.

    19. Oh, by spindly I meant how skinny the fingers are, not the veins :XD:

Thank you, I forgot about these hands! I could work with that, so I'll keep an eye out. Also your boy is so beautiful! :aheartbea
And yes, if you happen to find the Dollpire hands I'd love to see them on an ID75!

Ooooo this is super helpful!! Thank you! :chibi Honestly they don't look out of proportion or anything... hohoho! It looks like the DZ fingers are not thinner, just longer. Yay! :evilplot::evilplot:
