Soom Idealian : Gluino - Vampire Alchemist

I think there was a year or so between Sabik (first MA) and Vega (first girl MA), so that might happen. It might be longer, though, if it happens at all, since I don't know how many Brannons or Pangens sold. Brannon I would have bought if he'd been released at a more convenient time (read: "on a non-large MD month when they were already getting my money"). Hopefully the positive response to Gluino will help bolster this series, which seems to have had a rockier start than it deserves -- twice, technically! -- since the sculpts really are quite extraordinary, the concept is interesting, the costuming is fantastic... I really can't say enough good things about this line, seriously. A 68-70cm girl as a counterpart to the Idealian males (and MegaGem boys) would be spectacular, though. Even if they did something like that as a 'MegaGem female' I'd be a happy camper.

Fantasy werewolf parts in this scale would be... well, unless they somehow screwed up royally, I think it would be truly amazing. The bulkier, more muscled body seems to be more 'werewolf' to me than the wiry, slender body -- I tend to think of werewolves as the big bruiser sorts. So they could really blow us away with something like that.

 

I'm screwed... This will probably be the only lost opportunity I will realy regret. The only check coming up before the 11th is for rent and bills, so that's it for me. Sad considering this is the only doll thus far that I have realy fell head over heals for...

 

I haven't been able to get into the Soom website for a few days. Tried IE, Chrome, dialup and 3 computers....no luck.

Today....FINALLY....got in with Chrome to place an order for this lovely vampire.

He is so handsome but alas he is far out of my price range.

 

Wow! Soom has created another star - a new Vampire. Interestingly, he looks more aristocratic (rock star) Vampire and not just a Vampire stereotype, or repeat. The attention to details and the all-over aristrocratic style of Gluino is strikingly handsome.
By the name "Gluino" he is an Italian (Venice?) Aristrocrat?
He certainly will make the resin female angels quake when he is around.
My resin bjd girls drool over Gluino, but the males say "No!"
Doesn't Gluino look like he could make his star as a movie actor?

I think he looks like a stereotypical vampire. It's pretty common for old-world vampires to be presented with this image in both novels and movies....at least for the past 40-50 years? The "rock star vampires" (is there more than one?) didn't create this look; they just copied it.

He's not my type at aaaaall but he's desperately wanting to come home with me! There's something about that open mouth, small curved fangs, and full set of upper teeth (dolly dentures!) that really appeals to me. I'm plotting how I can afford Volks' Charlotte AND a Gluino. This is such bad timing!

My boys are pretty indifferent to him but my Sd13 girl's eyes are sparkling more than normal.

Werewolves are sexy and if they create a werewolf, I'd have to have him.

 

Ahhhhh Soom, why!? "The August MD will be late this month." Now how am I supposed to decide between Gluino and the new MD? T_T Hope we at least get a teaser before Gluino goes off sale.

 

Well, on the up side, for those of us in layaway land, it can be something of a help. I'm going to put in my order for Gluino on the 3rd of 4th -- all based around when I get paid. So payments will start in August rather than July, really. The other MD, if he's a winner, can technically be ordered in early September most likely, which could at least stagger things a little bit for people who want/need it and decide to get both.

 

Not. Good. Hopefully the next MD won't be something I like. (_ _) Err... Even on a layaway. I have far too many layaways at the moment. I won't live until the end of the year if I put something else on layaway... (_ _) And why a whole new month before the next MD? >.> Silt and Keny ends today, right? So no more MD until late August? >.> That's... unlike Soom.

 

I think its because soom is overloading themselves with work. I don't know if all their separate divisions are the same work place, but they have waay too many monthlies for them to be released on time. I think soom might slowly be getting over their heads. *Just hopes it something she doesn't like either X3*

 

Barring a miracle, I think I may end up just naming the gremlin-free computer I had to order today Gluino. It will dull the pain if I can't pull a proper miracle out of my hindquarters to cover the payment on it AND him, and odds are pretty epic against that happening. (Admittedly, I am very relieved I was waiting until the paycheck on him now, seriously. Yeesh.)

My own laptop's motherboard fried a month ago, but I got super-lucky and I'd gotten the extended warranty on it...I'm just going to be hopeful for you, and I agree, sometimes it is good to wait for the paycheck! Yipes!

I'm a life-long mac user, so it's even worse. Thankfully, we got financing. I was looking at a very high end system for the end of the year, but there's no waiting for that, and a custom iMac is going to have to do.

...I am so putting little pointy fangs on the bottom of the monitor, I really am.

 

awww... does that mean no gluino for you? T.T that's sad... guess gluino doesn't always bring luck. my scanner is fried last night, too. and i need $100 or more to buy a new one. (_ _) it's my old and very-well-loved scanner too! ;;_;;

 

Put Glunio on layaway last night! I did not get the face-up or body blushing---sooner do that stuff myself it's more fun that way. I want my guy to be dark and brooding

I'm still on the fence looking at this way over the top price Gluino. I just can't decide weither or not to get him. He is so fabulous! I started at him until brain damage set in. I must not have blinked for minutes!

Sooms creations are great. But I wished the price was a bit more within reach. So if I did get him, then I would have to do the face up myself. Denver doll has some really cool eyes and wigs, so I would save there.

And then there is the layaway, which is a good idea anyway because the doll doesn't arrive right away anyway, so by the time I get the layaway finished off, then he should be ready to ship. They are telling me hoping for 80 days more like 100.

Then another thing to consider, is I have a Fairyland Woo Soo vampire elf that is very protective over me

Oh dear!!!! I think I need help in deciding here guys!!!!!! I'm planning on this guy to be a take along if I did get him.

 

I love him sincerely, but I have to say, it's gotta be your call. It usually helps me if I just find my thoughts drawn to a doll when I'm doing random things through the day, or if I dream about a doll it's a good sign. Tons of dolls look good, but if you're not capturing my attention completely, I'm probably not going to plonk money down on you, LOL! ^ ^

I'm getting better at buying limited dolls before their period runs out however, LOL! I got so many Soom dolls after their sell date through lucky cancellations...whew! Less stress buying them straight out, believe me!

Yea...I dreamt of him last night lol. So I think it was a good choice for me to buy him lol. Plus I know if I were to miss him I'd be kicking myself.

But like what Heidipay said, it is your call X3 Like, can you afford to spend the money? Will there be a huge fight with your other dolls? (I'm sure with this one they'll definitely be jealous!) If you're into photography, will you be taking pics of him non-stop? (I sure will! LOL) Does your heart flutter when you think about the box opening, and how excited you'd be to see him? I would say yes, get him, but thats my opinion XD

Of course worse case scenario is that you and him don't click when you get him. (Which I think would be hard to do ) You can always sell him in the market I guess? I think for me this guy will be with me foreverr~ so I can't even think of doing that x_x

I just got his base with eyes (I'm doing a split with his wig) I would LOVE to get his clothes but then I wouldn't be able to get him. I (Thats more money then what I've put aside for dollies) I can do the faceup/bodyblushing myself too.
