Soom Male Saiph Discussion Thread

It might be a few months before he comes up again, since they skipped normal/non-elf Sabik this time...

For me Saiph works way better as a girl. I just can't really see it as a boy. And I definitely like Saiph on smaller bodies, but for Sabik its kind of just scary looking...

 

Well, as long as he pops up again, then, no worries.

And aha, Sabik has such a big head, could you even imagine? XDDDDD

I was just trying to convince my friend yesterday that she REALLY needed Saiph's girl body so that I could make him a boy..... Soom read my mind XDD

I...think he still kinda looks like a butch girl, haha. But a very hot butch girl. Or possibly a transboy. (Or a couple particular actors and musicians who are boys who look like girls.)

Still, that fact in itself makes me sort of want him.
Alas: no money.

 

Sorry, all I'm seeing is a tomboy chick in the close-up shots, and a head that looks somewhat surprised at the gangly and over-sized body it's found itself on in the full body shots. Though the composition of the photos and the outfit it very nice, and I think Saiph looks awesome as a tomboy girl.

Of all the female MA's, they picked the one almost everyone agreed made a pretty good woman.

 

I was hoping to see Saiph as a boy eventually. But the head and body look a bit awkward in the sales picture to me.

 

He... makes me think of Oliver Twist. Not that he resembles him, but that he has that poor little orphan quality (Please sir, may I have some more?). And for him to be 80cm tall is just weird. XD;;

 

Yes ZennoSaji! I know what you mean. I think that is my problem. He would be so big but his face makes me think of a sad sweet little orphan. heh
Even as a girl I want Saiph shorter.

the mold is cute but looks sooo weird. mecha angel defect is the long neck and thin legs.
they got a lot of requests for switch Dia with male body (for example) and they did Saiph? is nonsense

 

I don't think Saiph works as a boy at all. The face is way too feminine, and with her round face the neck seems even longer. Seems like a very popular thing to turn girl dolls into boys. I wonder if they'll do the opposite and release a girl Sabik.

 

I actually had one of the MAs laid out next to a SG (I was making sweaters, and needed to see which of the two I felt like sizing it for) earlier tonight and while I have seen the head swap work really beautifully in one case with a Deneb head on a SG male body, they're really not the same size. Not quite, anyway. The SG head is smaller enough than the MA head that you might get some bobbleheadedness.

Of the three MA females, her head is the most 'fleshy' in a way -- the fullest cheeks and such, so it seems like the largest of 'em. I may be able to pop her head on a SG male body later to check it though, just PM me if I don't remember by the end of the day? Things have been a little nutty and I've been incredibly absent-minded. *blush*

 

Was Dia ever sold with a male body? I ask as I know I have seen photos of several but did not know if they were bought that way or "Frankensteined". (I am a new collector so if this is common knowledge please excuse me as I could not find it in a search). I am curious if there are more Soom dolls than what is shown on their website in terms of sold out/unavailable ones that might get rotated in/out like this new Saiph variation. (Saiph is quite the cutie but now I wonder if I should hold out in hopes of a male Dia someday since that head is the closest I can probably come to a discontinued Sard head as his face is quite similar and I'd rather not have to purchase two complete dolls to switch)

 

To the person who said Sabik (non-elf) isn't for sale, he is--he's just at the bottom of the menu. So I'm gonna assume boySaiph will be available again when the boys are, as they always are, after next month.

 

@ sistinas: yes u can buy a dia with male body but you actually have to pay 30 usd more to them to have it

 

This is like sooooo wonderful! I wanted Saiph as a boy but wasn't too keen on going through split processes and such. Now if I feel like it, I can just get him as I want him!
