Soom [MD/Apr] Hati & Skoll – Ignis Fatuus

Oh gosh, don't say that! If Chrom turns out to be a super gem sized male wolf-themed doll, I will fly over to Korea and smack Soom on the head for torturing me!!!

In saying that though, I really have no intentions of getting any more SD-sized male dolls. Already have three and if I got another, it would only be a luxury (not completely necessary in my opinion).

But yes... back to Hati and Skoll... despite the fact I actually bought Skoll, it still irks me how unwolfish he looks. He DOES look like a wolf in some aspects like the ragged ears (love those because they look just like the ears on my OC Dieter who is the son of Hati). And those hind paws are passable but those front paws... they really should pose the dolls better. Maybe pose them so they look like they're stalking/hunting something? >__>

Oh and I think you're right. I'll definitely have to make a tail for this guy if I'm going to be keeping his wolf parts on him. Although... if I stick resin cat ears on him, I bet he would look even more like a kitten x__x

Nah, I actually love both since a) I write about wolves in my story and b) I'm a scorpio and while I didn't fall in love with Vesuvia, I still like scorpions and think they're adorable too. Deadly, but cute still (I know.. I'm weird...). I think most people will agree with me that wolves are dangerous creatures too, but with the way Soom have oversized those paws and stuff... it really is hard to imagine Hati or Skoll being vicious since they look so much like kittens

Oh, and the THREE TOED PAWS! Goodness! I wanted to mention that too! Real paws do NOT look like that!

 

I actually HAVE resin cat ears in exactly the right size that came with my Luna (msdoll Pan), so I really could turn Hati into a cat if I decided to get her!! Would just need to get her a kitty tail and she'd be all set!

I love the ears too though... not in a wolfy sense but because they look like jagged elf ears and I'm obsessed with fairies/elves xDDD

Anyway, you should now make it your mission to pose your Skoll LIKE A WOLF, not a kitten xDDDD

 

I also have two pairs of resin cat ears Ah.. so tempted to stick them on Skoll whenever he arrives. One of the pairs of ears is actually for my Glati XD *totally NOT obsessed with kitty boys or anything like that*

Those ragged ears... well, for my OC, he got his ears chewed on when he was young and the tips of his ears got shredded pretty bad, so they're now ragged looking now that they've healed over ^^ It's just too bad I already have Dieter dollified, and even if I didn't, I wouldn't stick him in a teenie gem body. He'd probably come alive at night and try and strangle me or something.

I think posing Skoll so he looks like a wolf might be harder than I thought. I just tried to imagine him in stalking/hunting mode and I thought of a kitten stalking a toy mouse

They're absolutly ADORABLE! Much, much love. However, I do agree with the "more feline than canine" comments. I can easily see these guys turning into cats. The upside is they don't have tails. So if you want to mod one into a cat it'd be easy to do.

I'm not Soomed, woot! Well, for the dolls that is. I'm seriously in love with Skoll's outfit. It'd be perfect for Lune! It even has little moons on it! Send me a PM if you're running splits for these guys.

 

Totally caved and brought Hati....damn you Soom.

Yeah, I've been harping about that ever since we found out about Hati and Skoll. I don't understand what wolves have to do with scorpio and cancer either... but I'm just happy that Soom actually took Hati and Skoll and turned them into dolls. They aren't that well known, after all. You'd think if they were going to do a wolf themed doll, they would go for Hati and Skoll's father, Fenrir instead

Perhaps they are leading us up to next month's doll! A wolf themed SG boy? That would be awesome!

 

I'm a little relieved that they're wolves, myself... If there had been a baby scorpion I would have been selling anything I could to be able to buy her. ^^;; With these guys, I'm mostly tempted as a body for my floating Pukisha faceplate (since they do look very cat-like), but I'd still need the head to attach the faceplate, so it's too much work and I'm lazy.

Cute, though, I look forward to seeing owner pics from those of you who are buying them!

For now I think I'm mainly in love with the red cloak. Cloak+fairyland strider outfit=getting much closer to having a Roman-esque outfit. X3

Oh, and I totally agree about them having a kitty-cat feel to them.

 

Ffffffuuu. I was really hoping for a baby Bix and Vesuvia.
Oh well, guess I"m not Soomed, these little ones just aren't my thing. D:

 

That's the plan! If they've got them out on display in a good area, I can get LOADS of pictures from all angles. (With Cuprit I even took off one of her horns!)
I'm in the store a lot and so the Soom Lady just leaves me to take pictures.. I think she's used to me xDD
Heliot however was in a glass case under the cash register, so less easy to take pictures of.
It all depends on where they put the little wolfies! Still, I'll do my best!

I'm in there for a makeup tutorial session with a Glot next week, but I don't know if Hati and Skoll will be there by then. If they are, I'll take photos! Otherwise it might have to wait til the week after!

 

Wow, that's really amazing. I bet I'm not alone in thinking that must be such a great shop to visit. ^^ Out of curiosity, do they sell in stock dolls in there or do they just take preorders and sell clothes and smaller items? Either way it sounds like a good chance to get a proper look before you decide whether or not to buy.

 

*chews on nails* Wow, I really wasn't expecting this. I was thinking they were going to be chibi replications of Bix and Vesuvia (since you could see red and black leather on Skoll), I didn't think they'd be Bix and Vesuvia-looking wolf chibis!! ^^;;; Not so safe this month after all. I *really* like Hati, but I just don't know if I can get her right now, since I have so many other doll commitments at the moment. ;_; I was really hoping I could avoid an MD this month!

And.. this makes me fear that my dream of owning a chibi Heliot and Amber may not happen! Though.. maybe they will still make them - since Beryl and Sard were so popular (while Bix and Vesuvia were not) Heliot and Amber were even more popular so maybe Soom wants to soak up that cash cow for all that it's worth *hopefully*

 

You make me wish I lived in Japan lol. That's so awesome that you go to the store often and you even get to touch the dolls. Goodness knows if I were there I'd probably molest the Sard doll repeatedly.

Oh, could you possibly snap some shots of Glot and Glati while you're at the store next week? I know this is a Hati and Skoll discussion thread but I'm sure no one will object to me requesting photos of Glot and Glati XD

I really want to go to that Soom store now... but first I'll have to STOP buying dolls and save up to take a trip to Japan

 

I don't live in Japan (yet, just one more year D: but maaan when I am there... Soom store will be a second home possibly... XD ) but from what I've gathered from the other Soom Store threads is they don't sell dolls there nor do I think they do pre-orders. They only sell clothes, wigs, eyes, and accessories there.
