Soom [MD/Apr] Hati & Skoll – Ignis Fatuus

But it's just a name. Like, honestly? I'd find it awfully annoying that if they weren't wolf themed, if someone kept freaking out that they were named Hati and Skoll. I mean, seriously. It's a name. Get over it. It's not like you'll be keeping the company name anyways.

I guess I wouldn't be so insanely pissed off about this if it wasn't Bix. I know he wasn't that popular, but still. Any other bloody time, and I wouldn't care about this complete fake-out, but I had the chance to get my hands on a baby Bix, and then no.

And it doesn't really help me that I think the only cute things about Hati and Skoll are their faces. Their outfits are... ugh, and their paws are just unpleasant. But hey, to each their own. I respect anyone that's getting them. It's just, my disappointment with Soom has now multiplied.

 

While it's disappointing and sad for the few Bix lovers, I guess Soom thought that if Bix/Vesuvia were not very popular as MDs that little Bix/Vesuvia's would not get the same responses as tiny wolves.

While the Glot/Glati did give us that small hope....assuming a mini Bix/Vesuvia was going to be released came with the huge chance of disappointment. So as much as it sucks, we gotta get on with life, and hopefully not make this into a bigger thing that it should be. I ranted, and emoed...and feel better, still not crazy about the baby wolves, but can see their appeal and hope people that wanted the wolves get them.

 

Ahhhh I'm so disappointed. I really really really wanted a baby scorpion girl. I don't really like the style of the paws, either. They don't look very wolf-like. Maybe more like a lion...

 

I really wished for a Tiny Vesuvia with a tail !!!!! The "tiny Vesuvia" isn't one at all .... Glot and Glati at last were tinies of bigger version. Damn I hoped so much ..... Oh well I skip my turn, I won't be soomed lol

 

Bah, I know you're right, but I still need a bit more time to cool off. I'm pretty steamed over this (ohoho look at me, getting so pissed over dolls XD). Meh. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll make an actual Heliot baby. That would be cool. But eh.

I guess I'm to the 'at least I still have my $300' point now. Looks like Harper, my Minoru, will be coming home on schedule. But URG. Not fair. Not fair at all, Soom.

But I hope you Hati and Skoll lovers enjoy them. C:

 

hahaha yea~ don't worry I was steamed too when I found out! You can't help but feel let down! but if it's comforting..I think Heliot has a better chance of becoming a mini than the Bix..since he's so popular. but let's not assume that! XDDDDD

and YAY! at least you've got other dolls coming home ...we have avoided being Soomed.

 

I like their faces, but that's about it. It's a relief because then I just put aside my money for the next couple of months. I don't want a super gem as I have Euclase and Vesuvia so I'll just wait and see what the next chibis are like. I was hoping for an Amber but seeing as they've split them apart, we may not be seeing them as minis. Oh well.

 

I've been thinking about it... for the people who want a Hati/Skoll face with hooves, instead of swapping the heads, you could just swap out the legs at the knees, and make the blushing go up far enough to hide the color change.

 

This is what occurred to me too. I know there are a lot of folks who have high hopes for a baby Amber or Euclase. Not that we know that won't happen, but Hati Skoll disprove the whole theory that the minis will be baby-ized versions of the large MDs.

Forever Young I understand the frustration, lol. I really had my hopes up for a chibi Bix. I couldn't afford the large Bix. I have a sort of an unofficial "girls only" policy with my dolls anyway, but I was prepared to make an exception for a little crab boy.

Well, I'll be interested to see if next month is a doll big wolf or not. I love the idea of a wolf doll, but these two don't do it for me at all- so as cute as a little 'wolf in sheep clothing' would be, I am safe this round.

I do dearly hope though that this doesn't doom my chances of a mini Euclase because I would love to have a birdie

 

Does anyone know if you can order both outfits if you only order 1 doll? I did it with Glot but some people are saying you can only order both outfits if you get both dolls...

 

I really love Skoll's face, but I'm in the 'rather disappointed' crowd. I think I might have been in serious danger if they released a mini Vesuvia or mini Bix. ^^'; If Vesuvia had been a boy I would have been all over that, as I LOVED the tail idea. And Bix's arm was awesome, but his face didn't appeal to me. I think both of them could have been smashing as tinies though.

And I'll hold out hope for a mini Amber and mini Heliot. @__@

 

Once I heard their names I knew they'd be wolf cubs. However, I'm greatly disappointed; I feel that although they're named after wolves they don't look it. They needed little resin tales and wolf ears IMO. It kind of sucks since wolves are my favorite animals, but it looks like my bank account will be safe from SOOM for the second month in a row.

 

*sniffle* I really wanted a baby vesuvia.. i guess it's good though, I shouldn't really spend the money.

*grumble*

 

These are really curved balls. Now I am not so sure about the tiny Euclase and Heliot that I have hoped for.

Soom is now a big ol' mystery now, 'assuming' is a dangerous practice. Though I will say this...Soom will be stupid if they don't make a little bird. I can see people falling already for a chibi Euclase. xD I can still see a little unicorn too~ but the less popular MDs can forget it now.

I am starting to have to fight the urge to buy one now.

And I think that people who are getting "disappointed" with Soom are taking a LOT of things for granted. Don't let your expectations get in the way of appreciating good dolls and amazing creativity, or even an excellent company. Yes, it's fun to speculate and hope, but to rant about Soom not releasing what you wanted...seems a little presumptuous.

Not trying to offend anyone. You're free to express your disappointment as you want to of course, I just feel it takes a little of the joy out of new releases.

 

I'm with Meeve on this. They seem to have gotten the poorest sales response (if the 'Which Soom MD did you buy direct' thread is anything to go by) so it makes good business sense not to do a tinies run of a line that didn't sell well, especially since they've have resculpt everything.

It could also be that resculpting and scaling down the claw and tail down presented too many challenges, given their already backlogged production schedule.

In all truth, since I didn't really like Bix of Vesuvia, I actually liked it that they did the wolf cubs instead. If I had money to spare, I'd get one and make it a kitten. 8)

Also...I guess this is what happens when we assume too much?? XDD

 

I think a lot of people are also disappointed with how the idea was executed, and not just their let-down expectations. Like many others I also think their wolf parts look 'off'. I really do like their faces, but their wolf parts look way weird to me. =/
