Soom [MD/Apr] Hati & Skoll – Ignis Fatuus

Just to give people a heads up, I asked about ordering both wigs and both outfits but only ordering one doll and they said:

 

I'm also in the 'I like Hati but I'd want her human' camp, and like many others I've decided the dent to my bank balance isn't enough to justify getting her as a human I think the only way I'd be able to do it would be to split her head off (and wig, I like the wig... >.>) and buy a body at a later date, but I won't be doing that - I think my boyfriend would actually strangle me if I decided to buy a fourth LE in a row

I can see why people are upset about them not being chibi Bix and Vesuvia, although I wasn't actually hoping for them myself (my friend's got Vesuvia so I'm ok there at least!) and I just have to cross my fingers and hope like mad for a chibi Vega Last Song or I think I will actually cry Or a feline chibi. I've told my boyfriend that if they release a tiny Vega or a tiny kitten (Hati and Skoll are not kitty enough for me - PHEW!) then I'll be SOOMED again, although... if a kitten has paws similar to Hati and Skoll... I'm so not soomed o.o They really don't appeal to me, though I can't place why...

Like I said in my first post though - I'll be looking out for other peoples' Hati and Skoll! The heads are OMGCUTE ^_^

 

Well I've decided I don't like the wolf paws. Maybe I'll feel different when I see them in person, but right now, no.
Maybe the feet paws are ok, but the hand paws bother me in a way I just can't put my finger on.

When I think of Hati with her human parts though, I get all squealy inside xD
I LOVE the little ears.. and her little face still kills me!

So basically, I'm going to have to have a long think about whether I want to wait forever for her, and whether or not I'm ok with seperating her from her wolfy parts, even though I'm probably not going to use them.

 

If they were bigger, I'd probably be entering a couple of splits for them. But cute as they are, they're too tiny, and the doll itself isn't appealing to me. Ah well, it means I save some money and hold out for chibi-Euclase or some kind of neat chibi-bird-creature.

This seems to mean they're doing male and female with the same parts, though, which means I could possibly make the chibi-bird my female strange tiny, since that's what chibi-Vesuvia would have been. I'll still miss not having a tiny scorpion around, though.

 

I feel disheartening to see people bash soom or giving very negative and discouraging comments on skoll and hati page over here http://dollsoom.com/shop/step1.php?number=3438 because soom didn't release what they expect skoll and hati to be. It maybe true that because of high expectation, there bound to be disappointment when expectation does not meet, but still i think most of us still being very appreciative and respective of their work and art right?

I don't expect everyone to like them (that's pretty much impossible, really), but I think it's rather rude to tell a company that you think their product looks like a leper. :\

 

i didn't pay attention to the comments until i started to read one by one >_< it's understandable to be disappointed however... nasty comments/feedback is another thing!

I really don't think Hati and Skoll deserve these scathing remarks. Sure, they may not be what some people expected, but they're hardly ugly. In fact, I think they're rather cute. ._.

If I had a disposable income, I'd get one for the kittiness. 8D (Mini non-pissy Kiradyn?)

 

Without feedback of all kinds though a company doesn't know what to produce. Even bad comments will help them hone their product line! I mean if everyone just told them everything was perfect they'd probably never have even started this whole fantasy line! I don't think the company takes it prsonally, I think they take it as things they can do to make thier products better! Like the paws! They may NEED to hear that they don't look good in order to create a better sculpt next time!

There's nothing wrong with being honest to a company.

 

Nothing wrong with saying you don't like the doll or its not your type of doll, but a line is crossed when the remarks get nasty or being just whiney cause someone didn't get what they wanted. That's not really feedback Soom can use to produce better dolls.

I think these little guys are awesome, might not be what everyone was expecting or wanted, but that's life. And Soom I'm sure knows that some will love and some will hate them.

Anyway off to purchase my Skoll-i-chan after much consideration. I probably will keep that name. XD

 

I think it's ok to express to Soom that you're disappointed with a product, just as long as it's in the form of constructive criticism.
It's the difference between saying, "THIS SUCKS" and "You've done a good job, I like what you're done here, but maybe you should have tried this."
Yelling at Soom won't get us far, but if enough people express maturely that they were really hoping for a baby scorpion/crab, maybe one day they'll come back to the idea and make them.

As Hati and Skoll, more consideration is definitely needed over here!
I went to bed deciding I was going to save my money for the fact that all element teenies have the possiblity to kill me now, when I was just planning on being soomed by Darkness, Fire and Air. But this morning I saw Hati's little face and all my resolve went out the window!
Something tells me I'm going to be waiting til the last second on these 2!

 

I love their little faces >.< and I really like how they did the ears. but I don't like the paws =/ I think in some of the pictures the feet look almost like hippo feet though I do see what people like about them anyways. I just think skoll would make a very cute crab... so I'm thinking of getting him and making him his own little claw would that be bad?

No seriously.. my sister told me something like 10 years ago that I looked like a hippo, and it's just stuck with me my entire life so far. Every time I tell a friend they laugh for a while, then start calling me hippo for ETERNITY!

AT ANY RATE! Seeing Hati as a little blonde hippo (I am a big blonde hippo) has just killed me!!!

Anyway, I also think Skoll would look way better as a crab.
Hati isn't close enough to Vesuvia for me to really see scorpion in her, and her entire design screams cat to me, but Skoll should have been a crab!
I don't think there's anything wrong with getting him then making him a crab arm!

 

maaaan... I really want Hati but not the wolf stuff X-x shes super adorable...

ah well T__T I have to save up my monies anyway for school >_< and if they do come out with bebes that are to the likeness of Heliot or Amber (or even Onyx)... I may just go weak in the knees and be dealing with those guys... X-x; (multiplying like rabbits 8D)

though you know what'd I like to see? A tiny with ferret parts... 8D I'd so be all over those parts in a heart beat... XD

They are adorable, but I'm iffy about some things.
I want to hold out for a little Euclase since I actually have a character in mind for him, but at the same time, who knows if I should even expect to see him?

 

Does anyone know if the wolf legs will fit on littlefees.* * I can't seem to find the size chart for Soom BBs*

 

Chehime: i'm also sure that some difference between constructive feedback and just plain-nasty angry comment like 'leper' =) no one say it's not ok to feedback to soom, as long as it's constructive and mature ^-^
