1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom MD: May Grit and Syen- Little Guardians!

May 14, 2010

    1. I agree, people do not need to say bad things about dolls that they don't like. Just leave it alone and let the people who do like them buy them! I get so mad that everyone is trash-talking on a companies website (an amazing, creative, friendly company) because they want something different. For goodness sake go to DIM and get your custom doll, don't harass Soom.

      .....sorry, rant over :x

    2. I agree, except on some points - definitely shouldn't complain about a sculpt not being to your liking, because it's always going to be to someone else's liking. However, I have to say I'm with all the people who want to rant about a lack of ankle joints, and I think we SHOULD be bringing that straight to Soom, because to me that just seems lazy; I didn't like the Shonki/Appini sculpt personally, but I would have loved the paws if only they had put the joint we all expect in... I don't get it. I really hope they've listened to the complaints on that head and will put them back in for these guys.

    3. I too am hoping these little ones have ankle joints this time! That is the one thing that stopped me from buying Appini and I commented as such to Soom. :( But if headmolds wind up being not to my taste, well, that's fine, 'cause objectively they are still wonderful and there are other people that love them. <3

I wasn't too keen on the headmold at first, but looking at it as a boy instead of a girl ("girl" seem to be my default, lol) I kinda like them. I hope they are gender neutral, 'cause I could go for a boy in white skin ~ and with those outfits, I'd say the white one was the girl if they have genders!

    4. I'm hoping that there will be ankle joints as well but if there aren't I'm still edging towards buying Grit.

    5. Ok i have decided i need the NS head...really really bad! She's just too perfect! (Hmmm...I will hopefully have enough for the head...)

Now the hard part...WHEN WILL THEY COME OUT!!!!!! I NEED TO SEE THE REST!!!!!

    6. LOL, yeah. Soom said they wouldn't ship them until February, so I decided to stop obsessively checking the website to see if they'd shipped them. It was by chance that I checked Soom that one day and it had said they shipped it over two weeks before, so then I looked it up on the USPS site and that one said it had been in the PO for two weeks and that they had left a message, which I never got (and they've done that more than once too, said they left a message when there was nothing)

Anyway, I found all that out after 12PM on a Saturday. Talk about long weekends, that one was horrible. I kept worrying that they might have shipped them back to Soom and that I would never see my dolls. LOL

That was sort of also my first dolls and the first time I had bought from overseas so I had no idea about looking up on USPS or that my PO wouldn't inform me properly when I got a package. I know better now of course, but it was not fun at the time. :)

On another note, wouldn't it be cute if they added little clawed feet for these guys, sort of like Monzo's, but smaller and cuter. Eeek

Hopefully we'll see more pics monday. I need to see more before I decide if Grit is for me, but he is still too cute I may wind up getting him anyway.

    7. I've got my fingers crossed for more photos on monday too, the release too. I'm glad I have a Beyla, Grit would look adorable with her :D *already off in fantasyland*

    8. I'm itching to see more of their outfits. I think the male/grey one is really cute, but I'm pretty satisfied with my little soom gang at the moment. Can't wait to see more of them though. Looking more forward to seeing how their human or open-eyed heads will look like.

    9. I agree. And I also wanted to apologize for my own "ugly" comment
that I posted earlier about the kittens, I would delete it but I can't find
it :sweat:doh I really just felt Soom could have styled them better....
but am also glad that so many loved and bought them. So I'm sorry
      about saying that.

I would love to ask Soom for better joints and also to bring back their
ankle joints on their dolls too...maybe we need a petition for that
also. Hoping they'll release these babies on Monday.
Oh yeah another thing I wish Soom would consider/do is have longer
      release dates!!:)

    10. I had no idea so many were bothered by comments that aren't filled with flattery. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. :aheartbea
Edit: Just to clarify, that wasn't my comment on SOOM's website, but I have left my own share of criticism on Appini&Shonki, and Grit&Syen's pages.

I had the most wonderful dream, where SOOM had posted an overview of all their upcoming releases for the year on their website, with pictures of each doll.
      It was marvellous...:love

    11. I sometimes wish the release dates were longer but I totally understand why they aren't, plus they'd only want one MD to sell at a time and a bit of down time between to organize. What I'd rather have than longer releases is having all the photos up further in advance.

    12. That's exactly why my dream was so wonderful.. We'd know exactly what kind of dolls they'd release this year, what they'd look like, and could plan out our money spending for the whole year! No more surprise awesome releases that disrupt all careful planning!

    13. I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing negative thoughts here within the forum- people are going to have differing opinions, and as long as they're expressed in a mature way, no one is going to feel attacked. This forum exists for discussion, I don't believe anyone is saying that you shouldn't be able to say that you don't like something, or why.

I think the main issue people have is all of the really brutally insulting comments that frequently get left in the comments on the Soom website itself. Soom is a nice company, and just because a doll they make didn't suit someone, there's no need to post something mean to publicly insult the company in a venue not designed for open discussion.

To me, it's the difference between having a discussion about what you like/dislike about fashion trends with your friends, or publicly going up to someone and telling them they're dressed ugly, lol.

    14. I really like them - do you think the whiteskin will be the same as the other white resin? I wonder what their feet will be like. I cannot really afford another doll unless I let one go, so I am kinda hoping I dont like her!

    15. Can't wait to see the pictures. Hopefully we'll see more of them tomorrow :)

    16. Well, I'm hopeful for at least this week, LOL! But remember, it's going to be Monday morning for Soom in about 12 hours as I type this, maybe they'll be really merciful and post more soon? LOL! I know, I know, using 'Soom' and 'merciful' in the same sentence is just wrong, sorry! ;)

      .hlp

    17. I think its a nice idea if people wouldn't say rude things in the comment sections but I don't think that is very realistic. Yes, you shouldn't tell people ugly things but it happens all the time.... if someone is honestly being THAT rude, I just ignore it.

Now, woots! I want both of these... com'n soom, show us at least one more picture!

    18. I'm in trouble :...( I'm falling (already fell ? ) for the little grey one ! I spent my night to dream that my late grandma had many BJDs, very old and tons of wigs and I had to search them everywhere

Urgh beeing soomed once more or not beeing soomed .... damn ! :...(

    19. i want the same ^^

    20. Who else is gonna be up all night hoping Soom puts up pictures? It's so bad..I don't want to be Soomed again(it didn't work out the last time..) but I'm so head over heels for these darlings right now..

I'm hoping they will have non-chibi claws..that's what threw me off of Alk/Yrie..I got to like their wings but those silly chibi bird feets.. Not so much. But if they do..oh well I'm pretty sure I'm stuck.
