Soom MD: May Grit and Syen- Little Guardians!

I really like the faces so far. It's been a while since I felt interested in a Soom doll...I have this weird half-love-half-hate fixation with the tinies. I kinda hope there is something about them I don't like...

I can see the small hand too. And the nails are a bit longer than usual and the hand is blushed. ^.^
I would love to see another head...but I think there will be no second head... >.<
And I really hope that some here are right and Soom will release them maybe next week...
It would be such a shame to don't buy the grey one because I'm on holidays after the next week and won't be having
internet... T___T

 

As of right now I think the GS one with faceup and probably blushing.. and wig and eyes.. MAYBE outfit too just to trade/split.. or keep.. we'll see.
And then the WS one's eyes/wig/clothes.
A part of me really wants the WS head too, plus then I could run my own split which I really like doing (takes the fear of not getting your stuff out, and stops me having to try and paypal people money!).. but I really don't think I can rationalize that!
It worked really well with Afi and Ai (got a fullset Afi then split off Ai's heads and gave my Yrie head to Ai), but I really don't have another WS doll just LYING AROUND needed a head right now xD

Decisions decisions!

I think they're going to be on display in the Soom store here from the 28th-ish, but I doubt that's going to have any connection to when they're actually released.

 

Egads! You're right! Hmmm.. It seems more chubby than spindly, and I was kinda hoping for the latter. I need to see more pics now >.<

 

Yeah I see that LUMP too.. and I think it looks like seperate little fingers.. probably claws.. but can't be sure!

Either way.. I WANT CLAWS.
And no chibi feet.
And gender neutral.
And strong blushing on the GS one.

The "LUMP" made me lol. I hope the nails on the claws can be made to look like they could hurt..

I love how people say "I'm so happy I don't like them! I'm safe!" I say things like that too, and I think it's so funny when I do :P

But srsly, they're too cute. I was hoping for a big doll again, but it looks like it's going big little big little pattern. Can't wait to see more, can't really afford these though ><

We have no self control.. at all. xD
When it comes to a company we like, we know we are going to buy ANYTHING they release if we love it!
It doesn't matter if that means living on cheap food for months on end, we WILL BRING HOME THAT DOLL!

Soom is just a really bad company to like because they just keep releasing MDs!
At least other companies I like release dolls much more infrequently!!
I was hoping, with the change of staff and the direction things seemed to be going in, that I wouldn't want many Soom dolls this year. After all, I didn't really love Appini and Shonki aside for the fact that the resin was BLACK, and I was just determined to make that work.
These little batty gargoyles though I think are adorable, and the fact that we're had a fantasy resin colour for the first 2 tiny releases suggests that we might get one EVERY TIME this year.. meaning I may be doomed to be soomed!

 

I think they might keep releasing Grey Skin, Tan Skin, and Mystery Fantasy resin, alternating between them, always paired with a White Skin. *shrug* But that's just a guess.

I do miss their older sculptor a little bit, though, despite the fact that those faces do seem a teensy bit to be variations on the same theme. I guess I just really liked that theme! I just hope they won't permanently go in the Fairyland direction with their eyes. I like Fairyland, but I prefer Fairyland to be Fairyland, and Soom to be Soom.

Despite all my mutterings I'm still getting me that grey gargoyle. >.> I'm not in denial about the no self-control part.

 

I think the main thing that worries me about the GS one is that s/he's just going to look to much like Bygg.
The half closed eyes, the pointy ears, the GS. If the blushing is pink like I suspected, there's really going to be a very similar vibe going on.
Now I'm not really using my Bygg R.head, and have the horn stuck to the OE head with putty, but still, it would be weird to get a doll who looked exactly the same as a doll I already.
Didn't someone say the WS one looked a lot like Beyla too?

 

I like all the resin options but I like gendered bodies too and we only get that with the WS only releases...

I can see the similarities btween Syen and Beyla, but the pointy nose is a change and the jawline is slightly different I think?

 

Yeah the nose is different, and Bygg/Beyla had very chubby cheeks that this two don't seem to have.
I think it could simply just be the GS combined with the pointy ears and half closed eyes that's making them look similar.

I too really don't actually LIKE the gender neutral bodies.
I prefer them to the horrible hermaphrodite body I try to ignore whenever I look at my Afi and Ai, but still, I'd much rather have ACTUAL GIRLS.
The problem with that is, I also always want the fantasy resin doll that Soom always seem to go and make the boy.
If they gave us a boy and girl body, they'd alienate a lot of people who wanted the fantasy resin as a girl, or the WS as a boy.
The only way around it would be to actually give the option of a boy or girl body when people ordered, so everyone got the body they wanted and the colour, but I guess that would be REALLY complicated!

 

Their chins seem flatter, and the jaw/head more angular. Plus the noses and eyeshape is quite different. midnite you could always get yet another blank one, and get the blushing comissioned in, say, sparkly blue? (anyone mentions anything Twillight related and I'm outta here >.< XD)

 

Ack! i'm safe! for which i'm thankful becuase now i can do other things! as normal i only really want the clothes so we'll see.

 

are these claws your talking about...well thety look kinda transparent to me....just the finger parts though

 

I have been thinking about that!! How fabulous the GS would looked all blushed in sparkly blues!!
Would be much more bat or gargoyle like too.. especially gargoyle! Would make the GS look like granite! Oooooooh.
I think blushing the GS one in pink (which we don't 100% know they've done yet) would be kind of odd of they're meant to be gargoyles, as it would warm the doll up considerably.

I may see how I feel about them in person first!
Or just wait to see all the pictures hehehe xD

I REALLY hope whatever the feet are, they have an ankle joint though.. or at least better sculpting like Afi and Ai had.
While they didn't have an ankle joint, the legs are SO BEAUTIFUL, it's to be forgiven.
But the kitties just seemed unfinished and their feet looked like sausages. No more of that please soom xD
