Once I get a reply in this thread I'll know exactly what I'm going to use for sparkly blushing! There is this awesome black holographic glitter.. *eep* And I SO agree with the sausage legs. No more. XD No sausage claws please! I'll catch up on this thread in the morning!
The little grey one is very cute so far. I think the WS one's faceup is throwing everything off a bit- with the eye creases or whatever. I'm betting they have claws on hands and feet. Their face sculpt looks nice though, I'm looking forward to more pics + custom faceups of the ones people buy~
;_; I don't even like tinies! MUST. LOOK. AWAY. ... CAN'T STOP LOOKING *goes to lock up all possessions that are worth any money to resist selling them for said new dollies*
Baby vampirrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssss *swoon* i loooooooove the new babies!!! there goes my raise!!!!
I don't know...I kind of feel like Tiny might be the right size for me...and I love looking at soom tinies..and I knew that the next soom doll was probably going to be a gargoyle tiny, and I love gargoyles. but I'm still undecided... I neeed moooorrreee piiiccttuurreessss. I guess I'm just worried that having fangs as part of the sculpt might make it less versatile. I do love the shape of the eyes thou.
Why, SOOM? ;-; I loved the clothes, the fangs, the GS resin ;-; omg omg omg I will resist, I will.. I can't... ;-; Why they're so cuuute? D: D: D: *dying*
LOL I like the grey one best.. I don't think I'll be getting it though :\ However I MAY see about getting into a split for the wings if they are compatable with the Glati/Glot magnetic backs >.>.. I'd like those koot leedle wingys for my Damon...
I wonder if they will be, or if they'll be like Monzo's system. I think they'll be like Glot/Glati, to make things compatible, but then again..
Sparkly blushing seems to be a REAL pain for a lot of artists. When you MSC it, it likes to lose it's sparkly completely, especially if you paint a doll in silver or something - it just goes GRAY. With Soom though, their fantasy parts usually come nice and sparkly, and they don't seem to lose that sparkle when I add an extra layer or 2 of MSC for protection, so clearly they're doing SOMETHING different. All I know of right now is to throw the glitter/pearl on while the MSC is drying so it's sticking on top of the MSC and not underneath. I'm having this problem with my Shonki, who I want to be blushed and painted up with a lot of gold. Pastel probably won't show up well on the black resin, and while gold paint will show up well for detailing, you can't blush with that. Then airbrushing will show up nicely, but the silver likes to go very gray when MSCed, so I wonder if the same thing is going to happen with gold? It's pretty tricky! I think though with the GS, loads of people have worked with it before, and pastels seem to work nicely, so it should be less of a crisis! I'm not sure I want to face another blank doll though after Shonki.. this is taking a lot of coordination, and both the arists I'm looking at are always really busy!!!
I'm thinking magnets too, since Monzo's wing were just way too heavy for magnets that Soom needed another way. They won't have that issue with the tiny wings.
midnite: it seems though that if the sparkles are bigger (more glitter, less pearlescent) they do show up better. In the other thread vicemage experimented with Glimmer Mist So who knows, maybe it won't be such a pain after all but it's kinda OT here. I think you're right. It would be very nice I wish they'd done Yrie and Alk's wings like that. Then would could do an angel/demon hybrid, like Kamui in X/1999
I love them/want them both!! But right now Syen is winning over Grit...perhaps it's just because we can see more of her.....I can't believe I'm back here waiting for another Soom release
Thanks so much!! edit: wow! I'm in love with all the colors of the mica powder from coastal scents too. I look forward to knowing if they are completely resin safe.
I know. I wish they'd list their ingredients, so we could check if there's anything in there that we know to be harmful to resin, or not. I might buy something simple to try it out on, if I don't have my answer I'll be sure to post my findings in that thread. I also want to see more pics of that grey one.. Thankfully the wigs and outfits are optional. I don't think they've been very inventive with the hairstyles or the jewelry this time. I guess it was somewhat intentional as it does seem to make the fantasy parts "pop" more.
