Soom Mecha Angel Saiph Discussion

Apr 15, 2008

    1. The spray paint would give a nice finish and okay...will do that with the ear plug silicone putty. I have some :)

I'll be sure to post when Saiph gets her next photos taken!

    2. Lyanne,

I just happened to see the Saiph title and took a quick look to find your lovely new girl!! She looks great!! I too, love the wig you have on her in the last shots. .. What a pretty job you have done with her face and the dress looks very nice, as well. How do you like the way she poses? Is she a great deal larger than your EIDs? Or I should ask does she photograph nicely with them? Again .. what a delight to see your lovely work!! She is beautiful!
Hope all is well with you and the boys! :)

    3. Wow, all your Sapih girls are so gorgeous. I am jealous! So sad I could get one before they were discontinued. But all of your lovely pictures makes me feel better!

    4. Hi Sherry!! So good to see you here :)

I can't take credit for Saiph's face as I ended up going with the default one from Soom. Maybe one day she will have a OOAK face but for now I am enjoying the soft, subtle face up that Soom gave her.

She is much taller than our EID girls. I will have to take a pic of her with them to show you. I keep her separate from the Iple-gang ;)

The boys are great but sooo much bigger than when we last caught up! Especially the oldest. Hope all is well with you too!
      So good to "see" you!
      Lyanne

    5. Hi empty_fullmoon - that is what finally made me take the plunge. I thought I would regret it so badly if I could never have a Saiph having admired her for so many years.

I did see one on Ebay recently so maybe one day you will be able to bring one home too :)

    6. Lyanne, she is just so soft and pretty . . I have seen some of your other girls that you have done the faces on, and they are also very soft and beautiful! So glad to see you doing them now!

She must be very tall! I have some of the Idealian girls and they are fairly large compared to the Iples… so she would be the Amazon of the bunch! lol

It's hard to imagine the boys being so big now… They were such handsome little fellows when they were small! They must be a big help to you, though. :)

Looking forward to hearing more from you!

    7. Hello. ^_^
Is it ok if I join in on the Saiph love? Hehe, I just received my girl Monday evening. She is still blank (it has snowed everyday since she arrived. And I live in the desert! How funny), but I can just sit and stare at her all the same.

      I've named her Anstes. :chocoheart

      Also, hi Sherry!! ::waves::
She really is much bigger than the EID's. She is literally half my size when we are both standing. It's sort of amazing to see her sitting in the living room! Hehe.

    8. Lady Ravenswood: she is lovely! ♥ are you going to paint her yourself or do you plan on sending her out?

    9. I'm going to paint her myself. I ordered new MSC just for her, hehe, I'm just waiting on the weather! ^_~

I'm just so excited that I actually have this girl!! I've just adored this sculpt for yeaaaaaars, but somehow she never happened, and never happened, and now here she is: a 2008 WS Saiph. I saw her in the marketplace and I actually ran around the room in circles. Hehe. My husband got home, took one look at me, looked a the doll and just said to buy her. XD

    10. :o gahhhhhhhh! you got a white one? ... you lucky dog you! i am so happy just to have the NS one.

    11. I know, Cat!!! I only ever wanted her in WS (part of the whole didn't happen...until now!).

    12. You must also put her in great clothes. She is just such a beautiful doll. All dolls should be so lovely.

    13. Oh, yes. ::rubs hands together:: Anstes' character is a princess, so many lovely frocks will have to happen. Hehe. ^__^

    14. how good are you at sewing? the girls are so big, i do not know what there is out there to buy for them. i will be sewing 'one good outfit' for Peyton.

    15. Mmm, yes, I imagine there really isn't much for them anymore...not that Soom really ever made them much to begin with. They are too big for the EID women's clothing too (curiosity got the better of me this afternoon). But I've sewn the vast majority of my dolls' clothing over the years, so I'm not really concerned. If anything, I'm a bit excited at her size because that means I can add more detail!

What is your plan for Peyton's outfit? ^_^

    16. hmmmmm, to tell, or to leave it be a surprise?

okay, i will tell. From what she is wearing in the current pictures, i will try to salvage the creamy lace colored corset. And, i will take the creamy old lace skirt-y draggy thing. And, she will keep her shoes. She has a choice of two pairs of shoes.

I will add some sort of pair of fancy bloomers, probably with bows on the bottoms. Over that will go, a hooped skirt. Over the hooped skirt will go the lace draggy thing. It will split in the middle the way it does now so that you can see the hooped skirt and the bloomers. On top of all of that, i will add some sort of fancy skirt, which will also part in the middle like theater curtains. I am thinking i might use vintage silver tinseled fabric so that the effect is all 'Cinderella'. I might sew her into long lace gloves with the fingers showing.

I have a beaded crown which she just might like. All silver beads, in the center of which sits a golden bird on a swing ... i made it. She might like it.

Anyway, that what i have in mind. I almost started on it today, but i am still contemplating the best fabric for the hooped skirt.

    17. Ooooh, that crown sounds quite fantastic. Are you going to put little tassels on the "curtain" skirt? :D
I could see the tinseled fabric working quite well. I'm sort of in love with that stuff. Hehe, I just really like vintage fashion.

    18. i really should *plop* the crown on Peyton's head and take a picture. Since she is home, i can ask her how she likes it.

There is a little vintage metal tassel now on the creamy draggy skirt. That skirt closes with magnetic beads. The metal tassel is always getting tangled in the metal beads.

You have given me an idea, though. I really should dig through my tassel stash and see if there are any that i could use. i usually use them on my kimonos.

    19. Congrats Lady Ravenswood!! Isn't she just so beautiful? And perhaps a little forlorn... :)

I can't wait to see what you do with her!! Have fun :)

    20. Thank you, LyanneNZ. ^_^
Yes, forlorn! Or maybe pensive? Melancholy? Hehe, I love that cast to her eyebrows and am always trying to think of just the right word that catches that emotion (I've come to realize I have sort of a thing for dolls with troubled expressions ^.^"). But it sort of shifts, doesn't it? Sometimes her expression is so gentle, and sometimes she seems on the verge of tears.

I just have to say, I was so pleasantly surprised to see that this thread was still active. Yay, Lyanne! You go. ^_^
I was sort of expecting to be the odd outlier, still in love with the Mecha Angel version of Saiph now that they made the Super Gem version (which oddly, I don't feel looks like her at all. Every time I see one I think it's Topaz! *_*).
Ok, ok. I feel like I'm coming across as very hyper. Hehe. Too many years of pent up excitement for Saiph, I guess. ^_~

I'm glad you liked the tassel idea, Cat. Hehe, it was the first thing that popped into my head along with heavy velvet.
