1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Mecha Angel Saiph Discussion

Apr 15, 2008

    1. Hi, @vonbonbon ! ^___^
      How have you been?

Hm...well, my Saiph is waiting for a new faceup so that she better matches the :: gasp :: MA Meisa that I now have. Seriously, I have to pinch myself every time I say such things. I have a MA Saiph and a MA Meisa. :: passes out with happiness :: Hehe.

I've realized that I actually have a small addiction the the MA girls. Whoops. Even the old body. Every time I see one for sale I have to give myself a pep talk not to buy them all. I'm starting to have a crazy dream to have one of each. THAT'S TOO CRAZY of a dream! Hahaha.........

    2. Hi Lady R!!! How the hell are you? I'm doing fine, still playing with dolls although didn't have much time over the last year or so.

Hee hee, you were always partial to a Soom I think, I remember your Amber... although you were also very fond of Iplehouse too, I seem to remember ;) I'm still a dyed in the wool Dollstown fan BUT Saiph and Sabik remain all time favourite heads. They were (and still are!) such popular sculpts I have no idea why they discontinued them. I can't wait to see how your Saiph turns out. I suppose she already has lots of amazing handmade outfits and is spoilt rotten ;)

    3. Oh my gosh... :: hides in shame :: I haven't made ANY clothes for either of my MA girls. T.T
I've been dealing with a shoulder injury...for like...a year now...so I haven't sewn really...ugh. Excuses, excuses. Heh. So, yes I can relate to the not much with dolls time recently.

Ah yes, hehe, I'm not sure I could imagine your collection without Dollstown. ^_~
The girl in your avatar is just lovely, by the way. <3

Hehe, I feel a bit like I'm stuck in a time loop circa 2008 with Soom. XD
I swear my wishlist is reverting back to my original wish list from when I started in the hobby. Heh.

You know...I wonder if the Saiph you saw was actually purchased by someone from our local group. Hmm...
It is sad that the whole MA line went away. I bet they'd get orders if they did a limited run of them again.

    4. I know, I will have to see her here soon or on Flickr and SOB! Oh well, it would have been a real stretch at the moment and I would have wound up selling one of my two big DT girls to finance it... so I am happy to keep them both. I shouldn't be looking at any purchase right now as freelancing has gone quiet again suddenly.

I am SHOCKED that you haven't been making clothes... but the shoulder sounds painful, I can totally relate. Don't push yourself, you will be back at the sewing machine soon enough and then Saiph will get a whole new wardrobe in no time ;) I know what you mean about your BJD Wishlist being stuck in a time warp as well. I was ill the other week and took a stroll through all my saved favourites on Flickr and remembered all the gorgeous dolls I never got a chance to have.... it rekindles the love. I see brand new sculpts and get curious to see them in real life but there isn't the same draw for me right now. I suppose all hobbies go through ups and downs.

    5. Lovely to see some posts here. So sorry you had to sell your MA Saiph. I know what you mean...the SG version is cute but just doesn't have the same expression at all.

I love the height of the MA body but it is one thing that means that my girl tends to not get many photos...she simply doesn't have many clothes to wear. I sew a lot for my Iplehouse dolls but they can't share. Its not that I dislike the MA body but I only have one so its an investment of lots of time to create patterns and an outfit just for her...poor girl. She really is worth it!

I hope you manage to find another! :)

    6. Thanks, LyanneNZ :) I do find the different height and body proportions the most frustrating aspect of this hobby, to be honest (someone would think real life human bodies all came in a one size fits all size range, tee hee!). Making clothes for such a large body definitely takes more time (and fabric!) but I am sure your MA girl will be worth the effort when you get the time ;)

    7. Oh man, how did I not respond to this? :abambi:

Yeah, the shoulder is starting to get better slowly. Hehe. Thanks. It's just being stubborn. Boo...
But I think I'm just going to have to sew one way or another! I've got these ideas that need to get out of my head already. ;)
Hehe, but at least now I have 2 mecha angel girls, so whatever I make they can share! Mwa haha! 'Cause yeah, it's true. They are just their own size and it's hard to find them things from anyone else in my collection. Guess that just means I'll have to do my best to spoil them specifically.

    8. Raquel: Hee hee, I wish I had actually gotten round to actually making even half the outfits I have dreamed up for my dolls while sat on the train/bus/taxi.... I never seem to have time to get the sewing machine out anymore though.... and the old desk I use it on is so wobbly I need to do some DIY to reinforce it before I actually put the sewing machine back on it. That's the real issue, I need to do some DIY before I can get sewing and I am NEVER in the mood for DIY!

When I had my Saiph MA I sketched about 5 different looks I was going to make for her, I have so many drawers full of fabric, but I wound up having to sell her before I made single thing. I'm so glad that my DT18 girl came with a couple of outfits or she would still be bare Nekkid too!

    9. Hehe, it's so true! I have sketches of outfits all over the place! But I moved my sewing machine to a little desk (which was a project in and of itself and took forever for me to do) and then immediately covered said desk in random stuff um...from the DoA triathlon...um, last year. And I still haven't unearthed it again yet! :horror:

    10. That all sounds so wearily familiar.... I think we have the same sewing desk! ;)

    11. Made an effort and took some new photos of Saiph :) I'm tempted to swap her head over to another body just so that I can photograph her more.

    12. She's lovely LyanneNZ :)

    13. OMG, guys. Remember how we were just saying how hard it is to find clothes for the MA girl body...

      Look at 'em. :...(:aheartbea
They look so good! I'm so happy. :: insert ugly, happy tears here ::

It's all Iplehouse SID-man clothing!!!! It fits so, so good. The pants are all capri length, but I care not at all.

    14. That does indeed look great!

Ah yes, I remember trying a friend's SID men's leather jacket on my Saiph and it fitted.

Your girl looks so stylish! Love her outfit !

    15. Hehe, yeah I'm a bit late to the party. I was guessing it had probably been tried before, but I was still just so, so excited that it fit so well. :celebrate

And since I had these two outfits already, it was going from poor naked doll to instant full set! The blue and red outfit is from Freedom Teller and is one of my favorite outfits that I own, so I'm really happy that she can steal it and wear it because it's just the style I wanted for my Meisa. Very happy bonus. Hehe.

And....now I'm tempted to buy more fabulous SID guy outfits for these two...:chomp:
(I can't tell if my expected happiness for potential tuxes outweighs my weeping wallet...hm...)

And goodness...I need names for these two! My Saiph used to have a name, but I'm going to change her character now that I have Meisa too, so they've just defaulted back to "Saiph" and "Meisa". :doh

    16. I have finally found a Saiph Head in NS... now I am on the hunt for a DT 18yers body... But As I am a perfect beginner in hybrid, what is the DT skin color that fit SOOM NS ? :/

This girl is soooo much gorgeous in her MA mold than in the SG... I have wait for her alsmot 5 years :')
