1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Mecha Angel Saiph Discussion

Apr 15, 2008

    1. Twigling and jenthered - thank you so much for the wig info. I think I have an 8-9 that she can wear temporarily for now; I was hoping to place an order in the next Leeke pre-order which opens on Monday (22nd), but that will be a while before they arrive...oh well. Congrats on the clothes also! ;)

I'm already in love with her - I've wanted Saiph for a long time, but she got pushed to back as I thought she'd always be around.....I'm really happy that I've done it now.^^

    2. I just found out Saiph is one of four bright stars in the constellation of Orion; the name also means sword in Arabic! ;) This might help me choose a name for her.....!

    3. You're most! And thank you. She came with some things, but every girl needs a pair of jeans, so...mine is WS, and was painted by Raven Dolls here, so looks best as a redhead, but I look forward to seeing what your girl wears, when you have time.

    4. Oh thanks so much for this info! That really takes a lot of stress off me, as I'm sortof in debt right now and Saiph would be completing a dream doll hybrid for me. I will gladly wait until April. Hopefully then money won't be so tight.
Are they available the same time every month or does the release date change every month?

    5. edible cookie, the dates should be the same each month, from the 15th, so put it on your calendar, or as a reminder/alert on your phone.

    6. Maybe by April I can get one! What skin color will be available in April???

    7. go the site and look the month before. They will tell you what's on sale and when. You might also keep looking here, because I got two of them here, one NS, sold her, and one WS, will never part from her. This site has the most astonishing marketplace...! Good luck, but as you say, April is not too far away. Next month is boys, so I have got to make up my mind! I'm still between Corvi or Vega or Sabik or...you get my drift!

    8. You can also order Saiph as a boy next month (March).

    9. Normal skin only.
Soom has answered in Q&A boards that the white skin mecha angels are discontinued. :(

    10. That is so sad. I was so fortunate to get a WS doll here, but it's so lovely to have options. I wish they would make a gorgeous chocolate brown MA...wouldn't she be exquisite, like Dollmore's Mello Cole...Wish they'd offer more clothing for the female MAs too...the guys have the vast majority.

    11. jenthered - I agree, I would love to see Soom expand on their resin colour choices; I guess they've made a start on this with SG 'Chalco', but it is such a shame they're not offering WS on their Mecha's anymore...I was hoping for a WS Vega, but any Vega will be just fine too! ;)

Also, with regard to the clothing, that too is dissapointing, especially compared with the male dolls. I keep thinking maybe they're not investing too much in the MA's anymore because they have other plans in development that might replace them - of course this is just my speculating/worrying, but I hope they do keep them around for a while. :)

    12. I know what you mean. We who love the Mechas are all worried! It would be just too heartbreaking to see them discontinued. Although they are much larger than my other true SD dolls, my Dollmore model makes a bridge and they all get along just fine. So, I hope that they reinvest in them-the Flagship models of the company, in my opinion. I'm going to buy every piece of clothing for the girls they own. I'm sure that a Vega will come your way eventually. I hope so!

    13. jentheread - I hope he does too! ;) Even though the clothing wasn't fabulous, I wanted to buy her something, just to have it in her exact size...there are a couple of costumiers in the commissions subforum that make for MA, but it's nice to just see stuff and buy it straight away. Though the white trouser suit does nothing for me really, I might still try to buy it so I can mix n' match you know!

Just a thought here - I was checking out Iplehouse EID girl stats and some of them aren't so way off from the MA female. The EID chest size (depending on if she is the large or medium chest) is 32 or 29.5 cm, Saiph is 31.5 cm. The EID hip measurement is 32 cm, Saiph is 32 cm. Thigh for EID is 18.2 cm, Saiph is 18.2 and the waist of an EID woman is 21, Saiph is 21.5 cm. I realise that Saiph will obviously be longer in body and leg and things would come up shorter on her, but it might be something worth investigating further?

p.s. She's in the UK awaiting charges right now (BOO), she could be here for the weekend (YAY). :)

    14. Thanks so much for your investigative journalism, gelfing9UK...LOL! My gosh, this is truly priceless info...At least some of the tops might work, or something flowing...There are just so many costumers for these dolls-was all set to pay for a dress for mine when the seamstress backed out-couldn't do it fitted without the doll there, and as she didn't have the doll, etc.
Mean, evil taxes, but how exciting for you. I can't wait-and she's not even mine!

    15. jenthered - You're welcome! Yes, something flowing for EID might work for Saiph ;) I was also going to investigate Dollmore Model Doll clothing....well only one item in particular was a jumper that was very loose fitting and basically was like a baggy dress on my (now gone) first Supia Rosy. Like I said, it was just one item, can't imagine anything else would even come close.....Sorry to hear that your commission didn't work out - I guess it's better that she was honest enough to say she couldn't do it though rather than end up with something that didn't fit? :sweat

It's lovely to have other people to share the excitement of new dolls! My partner, just switches off when I start talking resin and then says that 'they all look the same' when I ask his opinion on how pretty they are! :x Grrrrr.....

    16. Mercy, DH says the same thing, but he's so supportive that I don't mind...and he says it about all of my dolls, all of whom are not BJDS! Anyway, it's okay, something else will work and the Dollmore shoes do fit Saiph and her sisters. I'm so happy for you, because when I opened my box up, that was it! It was like falling for DH and not having to get dressed up to do it!

    17. Just posting that she is here!!!!!!!!!!! I went and got her from the depot, otherwise I might not have got her til Monday.

I'm so unprepared.....no wig, no (not hers) eyes, no name......
      but she's here - I'm happy! :)

    18. She's stunning. I can't just go any bigger than the SD dolls I have, but her face is amazing!!!

    19. Elegant513 - Yes, the MA size puts a lot of people off wanting to have them, but in all honesty, I find her no harder to pose/handle than an SD.....she's just heavier! ;) I was expecting gargantuan, but she's not that....then again, I've had a couple of 70 cm boys before so maybe I'm used to larger size.^^

    20. Well, there was a time when I thought 60 cm was huge, and now most of my dolls are around that size. Having worked as a repainter in the 16" world for so long made all the bigger dolls seem enormous at the beginning. But now that I have done 40-50 faceups on the big girls, I am totally hooked on them, (and they are definitely easier to sew for). Guess I am just slow, LOL. maybe in a year or so, I will be wanting all this size! I am a sucker for the beautiful sculpts and faces.
