Soom Monthly Dolls June (Gemini) the Third Land: Onyx - Light and Shadow

I'm really afraid they wont, because I just noticed, that unlike the earlier monthly dolls, she has a limited tag lashing under her name. D: *Pulling her hair out* I'll DIE if I don't get her! I had allready chosen wig, eyes and name or her! She's perfeeect. T_T

I nothing else, I'll hunt her from the aftermarkets.

 

I saw the tag too. I'm very afraid too that they're not going to restock her. I was so close to order, just had to wait the paycheck to come. I was planning Onyx to be a sister for my Beryl.

 

I was planning her to be the sister for my Ocean Elf Vega. Oh woe is us. ;_;

I do hope they'll get more of her in grey. ;_;

I just asked about the restock on their Q&A and left the question open so everyone interested can read it too. Let's see what they'll answer. I just think it would be really unfair not to restock Onyx when they restocked Beryl and Sard several times. And I believe this is the first time Onyx even being out of stock.

 

Ugh.. I really was working up to her too. I was all set for red eyes and silver tattoos. Stinks.. I finally worked myself up enough to do my math for Sard and make sure I could layaway him.. Then poof! To late.

 

Onyx is an unusual colour though; tan dolls (for example) seem to always be more expensive. I understand it's harder to get the resin evenly coloured throughout so the process is harder, they are trickier to create? Anyway, maybe Soom have conservatively decided they will limit her for this reason. None of the other monthly dolls have been unusually coloured resin.

 

I hope I didn't miss the boat on this one. I was waiting until tomorrow to order---get paid then.

 

I was able to snag one of the last few before she sold out. This is the first time she sold out.

I noticed the limited tag too. Seems sort of unfair for Soom to "sneak" that on there for Onyx when there was only one left -- that is, if that's their way of saying they won't restock her. But we cannot jump to conclusions yet. Because it also says the sale goes until July 10th. So we just have to see what happens tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys, she's a lovely girl!

 

That might not be as scary as it looks -- I think they just added some new tags to the page in general. There is a new bouncy 'BEST' tag on the page I haven't seen before either.

 

I think they added the "limited" icon, because when they sold Sard and he was "sold out",
people almost manhandled them to put him back up for sale.
So they covered themselves.

On the end of the page of Onyx it says that:

* Ordering period : From June 19th to July 10th
* This period could be closed earlier than noticed time.

I think depending on amount of orders they receive, they'll either keep them up for the whole period or not.
And I think that Onyx, specially the shadow version, was ordered a lot.

Well I hope they'll receive the money for my Shadow Onyx soon ^w^

Plus the fact that some people order two at a time and the fact that tan dolls are harder to create. They haven't even finished sending out Beryls yet. If they keep up with the constant restocks for the rest of the months...I wonder if the waiting time could stretch to 3-5 months. They really need to find a balance between meeting customer demands and meeting customer expectations in shipping time and quality work. On the other hand the limited tag could just be a means to get customers to jump on it when it displays , it could still restock again within a day.

Onyx has been listed for sale again. Just to "CMA" I placed my Shadow Onyx order--didn't want to miss this one. This time I ordered the doll blank and am going to do all the painting myself.

So, I guess this means I should see her sometime in October based on Beryl and Sard?

Had to promise the husband to chill on dolls for a bit before he sends me to be deprogramed.

 

I hope you're all able to get her, if you want her.

I was expecting her to sell out for sure, but wasnt sure this soon.

But we all read the disclaimer, or should have while looking over her pictures -
So if they do sell out again, and not restocked.. no ones fault but their own.

I purchased her as my Christmas present to me.
Considering my birthday was last wednesday and that is what my mabel was for...

I just put the gray Girl on Layaway! Now to sit back make my payments and wait ^_^.

 

I put the Light Onyx on layaway. I hope to be able to pay her off sooner that the layaway plan but will see if I magage to do that. But I'm so happy that I got her.
