Souldoll Double limited Theme boy Street Fighter JinWoo

Well it says right on the pictures that the head was sculpted by P.K.G (who ever that is,) and that is the same person or persons who sculpted Zii's head in the first place, so perhaps if it IS a different sculpt, the same person or persons sculpting it would explain the similarities. And if that really is Zii, excuse my language, but DAMN that boy is versatile!

 

When I first saw JinWoo I immediately thought "That's Zii". After a while I started wondering about his nose (seems a bit bigger) and his chin (wider or not...?) And discontinuing a mold then almost instantly coming out with something veeery similar but limited only for an extremely short time....sounds like selling off the few remaining ones to me....So I decided to try my hands at an overlay comparison....^^

Their lips are identical, and on the front view their eyes, too - on the half side view I wasn't able to line them up perfectly, but it's pretty close. Now I think that JinWoo's chin is not wider and their nose looks pretty similar, too^^
Unfortunately there weren't any profile pics of Zii in his promos, so I was unable to compare that. And please tell me if I have done something unethical/illegal etc by doing this comparison and I'm taking off the pics immediately.

Anyway everyone please feel free to draw your own conclusions form these pics^^ Personally I think Zii and JinWoo are the same mold.

 

There is nothing wrong with comparing them, we were all curious!
But it said on the website that he's not actually limited in number, instead they will only be taking orders for 7 days and that will all they are making. Egads do I wish I had enough money for him. Even with this, the second hand prices are gonna be at nose-bleed heights. and again, VERSATILE. Good gravy! *swoons*

 

gahh he's gorgeous!!! he looks alot like zii but im sad cause well he is limited and i dont think i'll have enough money to get him -_- but he's sooooooo hott ahhhhhhhh!!!! Now i'll just have to dream hehe. But now I have hope that souldoll will do alot more gorgeous guys like them ^^

 

I spoke with my parental units, and they are fine with the idea of lending me the money for JinWoo, providing that his price isn't completely absurd. I am so very excited

Augh no! ;o; He's so beautiful and would probably be perfect for a certain character whom I wasn't planning to get a doll version of - but now I want to. And really don't have the money. D: Darned limitedness!

 

Hmm...Interesting comparison shots. I was pretty sure that they were different molds but now...maybe not. I love this new guy. I hope he's not too limited ^o^

 

If I hadn't just bought another doll, I'd be buying Jin Woo. I want that head!!

Jin Woo is not Zii. Jin's a bit boyish...Jin's face is rounder and shorter than Zii. I preferred Zii since he looked more mature and older...oh well. Atleast SD is putting out a doll that looks similar to Zii. ^^

I guess I was the only one who thought Jin Woo looked like Zii and Soo Hyun?

PS - I saw Smaug's pictures and if it's Zii, then I agree with Musashi: He's verstatil! *____* I still don't think it's Zii tho.

 

He looks soooo close to Zii.. but not quite. But maybe it's just the makeup and wig and beanie that's making it look different? They can completely change the look of one doll mold.

 

Smaug I actually agree with you 100% I believe they are the same mold aswell I thought that JinWoo was Zii with a little modding and the face up and wig makes him look different but not completely different.. but now that you have done the transparency comparison shots they look identical to me..

And yes different faceup's and wigs and clothing and what not makes alot of dolls look different so even if this mold is zii with a new name or zii's twin brother atleast we know this boy has the potential to pull off any type of look..

 

He is very nice, even if I prefer Zii (awww)... but I think i want his outfit *__* maybe someone will buy him and sell his full outfit after that...

 

I'm admittedly surprised to hear that they're different sculpts, but I'm still pretty sure that one head is a modified version of the other (like MsDoll's Tely and No.3 heads). In any case, he's still perfect for the character that I want him for. The most important part is that he has to be a believable older brother to a 43cm classic Narin, which I think he will do an admirable job of.

Am I understanding correctly, and we'll be able to get him with or without the limited outfit? I'd prefer to get him naked and un-faceuped, since I'll just be reinventing him any way.

 

Maybe because they had such a high demand for Zii but couldn't produce any more of him for one reason or another, they worked something out with the artist to make a doll head that looked like Zii knowing that this would please customers who were upset by the unavailability of Zii? This way, people who want a doll that looks more like Zii can probably make him look more like Zii by modifying the faceup in certain ways and giving him a certain kind of wig but by presenting a different image (the street fighter Jin Woo) people who might like another kind of look will also be happy. It is the best of both worlds, imo.

I think they're different versions of the same sculpt... to me it looks as though Zii is a sanded jinwoo (since he has a thinner nose and overall face shape)~

Now to scrounge up some money Sell heads, sell!!! (goes off to bump FS thread)

 

Yah, I agree....

Fortunately I'm not digging Jin Woo (who looks more like Xiah/Junsu from DBSK whereas Zii looked more Lee Jun Ki) so no offense to Xiah/Junsu fans... Well I guess that's good for my bank account. ^^;

Lazulistar, That is excellent news! Although his outfit is beginning to grow on me a bit, at least the shoes are. Hmm.

I like his outfit too, and it fits the charrie I have in mind for him, but if its out of my price range >_>; will just be happy to have the doll then, lol.

And not sure if its been brought up yet, but does anyone know or can figure out if that bandaid is like removable or a permenant detail on the faceup? Any guesses?
