Spiritdoll 1/4 Smart Mini discussion Part 2

My tan snowdrop took so long to get here as well, she was my first doll too so it made the wait that much harder.

 

I just talked to them and even though my order status still only says confirmed, they told me my order went into casting awhile ago. So now I'm all kinds of confused. Not sure why it never updated to preparing, but I'm excited that it is being cast!

 

Hi all! I was lucky to win a snowdrop this past weekend. She still haa no name, but she's a cutie!

Thank you! I won her at the PNW BJD Expo. She was first prize for the scene contest.

 

What kind of eyes does she have? It's hard to tell from the picture, but they look sparkly. I like it.

my tan liana arrived today!! i just have to pick her up from the post office tomorrow. i am SO excited!!!

for some reason, i can't get my girl to stand that well. could she be strung too tight? or is this a problem that comes along with the smart body?

 

Very lucky @hannaliten!! In other good news, my snowdrop did ship! She shipped on the 23 ( they sent me the notice on the 25 and she arrived on the 26 while I was on the bus to Canada for doll north!!! D: ) I just got back today so I went to the post office to pick her up. Please welcome Rhys! I still don't like these new hands but I love her

I dont like any of the wigs I bought for her so I'm going to be working on another leeke group order as soon as either my mako or sugarbles arrive. So if you're going to need wigs PM me and I'll let you know when I can open the group order

 

Okay so I've had the chance to play around with Rhys today and I have a few more complaints about the new hands. They're still hideous to me. I appreciate that they tried to add more detail to the inside of the hand but the shape of them is just... weird. Also I've noticed that they just don't have the mobility of the old hands. The old hands could bend nearly 90 degrees which helped with touching faces but the new hands hardly move? They seem to sit slightly lower on the wrist joint. The joint looks to be the same size as the old hands but it has a new notch on the side. I can take pics later of the difference in the hands and hand posing if anyone is interested

 

I would love to see the comparison. Granted I never had the pleasure of experiencing the first version, but at least I'll know what to expect (and know what I'm missing). Sorry they are disappointing.

How hard do you think the old version hands are to come by?

 

considering how very rarely I've even seen spiritdolls on the market? Extremely hard. My only hope would probably be finding someone with the old hands who would want to trade but I'm not feeling like that's very likely to happen

 

I don't mind the hands very much, but I think I'll heat shape them a bit. I'll probably see if I can find someone to trade bust pieces though.

Yeah. She's absolutely gorgeous and I love how their tan is a little translucent in the light!! But the brat in me can't get over not having the hands that I wanted. I've swapped her right hand for the claw hand and that's helping somewhat. But it kind of ruins my whole twin aesthetic you know? xD
