1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Storing your BJDs

    1. i keep mine out in the open in a designated corner of my bedroom where they are on display. it's not ideal because there are 3 issues with this: dust, spiders, sunlight.

dust just means i have to be careful and clean them when possible... i find spiders frequently in my bedroom though and they love to hide in dark places such as up the skirts of dolls or in long black wigs. i've found everything from baby spiders to fully grown spiders on my dolls clothes, bodies and faces and sometimes even in their hair. this probably wouldn't happen if i didn't live in such a spider-infested area.

the other problem is accidental exposure to sunlight because i have a lot of windows. i left one doll on her stand where the winter sun would hit her every morning when i got sick earlier this year. i forgot about moving her into the shady area away from the window (i wasn't even home for part of the time, i was very ill) and she now has 'tanlines' from yellowing. i don't mind them but someone else might have been really freaked out by it. then again, that person might not be as absent minded as me.

i don't really like the idea of keeping my dolls in cabinets or cases.... i have anime figures and pullip dolls i keep in a glass case now and i get kind of weirdly depressed looking at the cabinet sometimes because it feels like they're trapped inside. yes, they are clean, there are no spiders on them, they are not exposed to sunlight.... but i don't know if i am appreciating them as much as my doll collection that is displayed in the open.

      just my weird opinion.

    2. I usually keep my girl in her box (I have a cat so it's really the best place for her to be when I'm not playing with her or enjoying her company)
but sometimes she sits in this bamboo toddler-sized chair that my grandma gave her and sometimes she sleeps in a makeshift bunk bed in the closet

    3. I keep my dolls in their individual pillows, all stored in one large box (which doubles as my bedside table :sweat). I used to store them in the individual boxes, but with ten 70cm-sized boxes they were just taking up too much space. One day I plan to have a UV-protected glass case/cabinet for them to be displayed in, but I'd want something custom made, so it's just a 'One Day' plan for now.
