Successfully Own Only One?

I don't think I ever believed I'd be able to stop at one.....there are just soo many pretty ones!...at this moment, I still only have one, but that's only because of the money situation....the very moment I have enough for my D.O.I. Luke, he'll be on his way heh...After that, I'll likely get an msd...or maybe a Pipos Heero....so cute!...I don't want to be excessive....but...I probably will be once I get a real job

 

I /knew/ I couldn't own just one, from the very beginning. At first they were pretty, but I needed set criteria to choose. So I decided to honor my most loyal characters by making them into dolls. Note: Characters is plural.

And in the end, I think I suspected that my dolls might multiply. And I didn't mind. Still don't. =) I'm still perfectly fiiine.

 

I did... for about a minute, I've now got a puki on the way and others are planned.

 

I....I made it a whole year without thinking I needed more. I bought my DZ Yi at Fanime 2007, and I was doing fine before I became more active on DoA.... Then I got to thinking, 'Maybe if I had an edgier looking face to balance out Ghost...' Because Yi's have a pretty mellow sculpt. Then I thought 'But what if I want them both in the same picture?' So I'm halfway to a Mo. I would be all over a Ducan instead, but I'm not QUITE so gone as to justify spending nearly $600 on a doll.... I'm a college student who gets by on $100 a month. XD

So no, for me, it's not possible to stop at one. But I was damned proud of lasting as long as I did. I blame you, DoA! And I do it with love.

 

I only have one BJD and she's the Shoyo model from DollZone. But I'm buying my boyfriend a 12cm dollie sometime this summer.

 

I've only had mine since last February 9th, which leads me to believe I will end up wanting more some day. I don't know. I feel like it's similar to people and children- some people only have one child, many people end up with more than one. Some people have tons of children!

For now, I don't think I could ever handle more than one doll. He's my baby. I might end up with another doll way in the future- but I'll have a long way to go to get there. I'm also pretty sure I'll have one kid. MAYBE two.
(But with that, who knows? I'm only 19. I've got a long way to go.)

 

I failed, as my first three came in rapid succession. But I have promised myself I will not get into double digits. My limit was originally five, but I have a head who wants a body desperately, so I would be at number six. XD I hope I never pick up any real vices.

 

Right now I only have one (who is very spoiled XD), but it's so hard to -NOT- get another... especially when I start thinking about what kind of characters I can make... @__@ There's so many different kinds out there too to choose from :3

 

It's not possible. These d@mn dolls are like potatoe chips....You can't have just one!

 

impossible, my mephistol would be just to lonely, plus, these dolls are modles for my drawing, so they would have family, and currently, my family is rangeing to about six...those are the 'main' character that is

 

I knew once I bought 1 I would want more, mostly because I have little stories in mind that I need certain characters for.

 

I plan on owning only one, a Unoa B-el.
In the back of my mind, however, I can't stop thinking that I'll need to get him a friend. Maybe a Lusis? That's a big "if" though. I'll probably convince my sister into getting one. That'll take care of both of us.

Bluefairy is my company favourite as well. Xiao was immediately selected as my first (still saving!), but then I fell into the companionship aspect and thought "she'll need a sweetheart!" Then I thought of the Kyle mold, who resembles my partner and even shares his name. If I ever get a third doll, I probably will have to have a fourth as a friend as well. Even numbers are just the way my mind works, sadly.

But the thoughts of spoiling just the first two and not taking up too much room keep me from having a second couple set. I'd want to get a mini-walled room, scaled furniture, nice clothes, etc. and keep my spending focused.

 

Does having one for the past 2 years and going still count?

 

Okay ... so I'm new and don't even own one yet ... a little out of my
budget at the moment. I did recently buy a Blythe Silver Snow,
a Latidoll Belle and an Obitsu Doll to "design" myself. I am a
Crochet Artist (as well as drawing/painting/sculpting) and these are
to help me with those things.

What I want to know is WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO PURCHASE
one of these dolls? Even ebay is too scarey for my pocket book!

 

I seriously never considered buying more than one (my thought process went the same way : "Why buy more than one?") but now I have like... 7 on my wish list, haha. And it's horrible because I'm absolutely addicted to this hobby, though it's good for someone like me who's normally indifferent to everything. So it's probably a good thing I'm looking for more, even if Lucciola will always been my #1.

I once looked at other people' doll signatures and wondered...Why they have so many dolls. a year later, I've got 3 more.

I originally just wanted one, a Gentle Head Lt Cocori Swan Lake. She comes with an extra head and it looks like next month I have to get her a body. She's so gorgeous that I have to have twins

 

I totally understand why some people like having more and collecting them and thats cool.

But I feel the exact same as you. I am fussy about dolls in genral and only like Dream of Doll. I think one is enough (for me) because I think about how many to carry and I wouldn't want to give one attention and not the others I know it sounds weird but makes sense to me.

 

I have one (who's not here) and another I'm going to order in less than a week. I got bit by the "BJD bug"
