Successfully Own Only One?

I started with three dolls I really wanted and only one of them readily available so I just bought that one first...but was always sure that I'd like to get the other two (one a LE and the other FCS) when I had the chance so I never set the "one doll only" rule for myself.
Thankfully I have all three of my dream dolls right now but don't plan on stopping if I see any new dolls that I -really- want. My only rule for myself is that they can't be bigger than MSD size so that's helping me control doll spending quite a bit~

 

lol this is great. It's so true, before you start looking around you are content with that one doll you really like! I had... have! A solid 3-doll list but now it's floating around 5. Which I don't want. So I have to choose which dolls I really REALLY want. I hate the bitter reality >_>

 

I really would love to own only one doll.
But when you find out you absolutely love some mold so much that you have to get it also...damn there goes the one doll -policy.
And I also get this "great" idea to create a story which's characters I want to make in doll forms.... I need to get even more dolls. Kind of depressing that I feel like I have to get a doll.

But I guess I could have survived with just one doll if that one would've been some curvy SD I could have sewed for and changed her looks for different photoshoots. If I had started with this kind of doll I would propably have less doll-plans.
I'm not a collector, I can easily enjoy different molds from others' photographs, but some things I need to have as my own.

 

I haven't even gotten my first doll yet, but I have to admit, I'm already planning on getting two. e_e I don't want them to be lonely. xP

So, it's not looking so good on the keeping it at one front.

 

So far, I have only ordered one. I don't have her yet, but... already.... I keep thinking I MUST have a tiny! I want one because you can put them in a regular 1:1 dollhouse and they don't look weird.

I am going to try to put that feeling on hold for now.

And I was set on only having a Ducan,

But then I liked Sha, then I saw Bory, my friends sent me more sites...

So my plan went down hill from there, oh well

as long as I can still eat and such I'm fine

 

This is a late response but the topic caught my attention.
allmyvisions, I'm completely with you on this one.
I made my first bjd order on H. Ducan and I too plan to spoil him.
I feel that owning less bjd's (two would be my maximum) would allow me to give more attention to my doll(s). I think if I had more than two I would start to like one more than another and eventually pay less attention to the other dolls.

 

I thought of only 1 but then I realized that it would be far too lonely so I opted to get twins. And I was going to stop there but I discovered Pukis so now I'm aiming to get one of those and I think that's it. I don't think I want SD sized dolls and I don't want to get another MSD or Tiny.

 

I'm awaiting my order of soulkid Linn, and she will be the first doll I own. At the current moment, I can safely say that I only have intention to own one. I've spent the past couple of months looking at tonnes of different doll moulds, and finally settled on one that I love the most. So, I suppose that unless another newer one calls out to me that strongly in the future, I'd be happy making it all about her. Plus, they really are very pricey investments.

 

I wanted as many as I could but I know that's impossible.I have one tiny now and awaiting for a MSD.I tried my best to only keep one so when my MSD arrives,my tiny will have to go.I am still not sure yet.I sure wish I could keep both cause they won't be lonely.But I am not allow to so I might have to force myself to follow the rule.

 

i was sure that after Reimu i wouldn't have purchased other dolls, but she became a character of a story i am writing, and i suddendly felt like i should make her story bestfriend. and now i can't stop planning! °__°

 

I only intend on owning one, and I'm positive its the right one. The beauty of the bjd is its ability to change, correct? I'm not saying I don't intend on having enough parts laying about to string an entire doll on its own, but I only intend on getting one complete doll..

 

My girl hasn't even arrive yet and I'm already planning for a MSD. But then, I don't think it'll be this fast. The plans for a new doll might even fall through since I don't seem to see any others that I *must have* unlike when I saw my girl's mould. =)

 

Heh, the thing that amuses me is that, when the first post was made in January, the poster wanted only one doll. Now, five months and 300 posts later, there's a row appearing in their sig.

 

I'm planning on only gettng a DOC basic Petsha, but if I somehow get enough money for an extra doll in the future, I would get her a boyfriend.

 

Nope... I have no dolls yet and I really want three.... Oh no... what am I getting into!

Well, I only have one doll, a DZ Yuu, and never wanted to buy more

 

Funny how plans never really work out. I said one in the beginning too. It was going to be an SD girl.
Now I have an DoC Zen, a Rosenlied tiny, and a CH Ai boy. And there are a pair of Jaimedoll twin boys in the planning stage. As well as someone on an SDF body. Still no SD girl in sight though. XD

Somehow I think the dolls multiply. Only, they slyly do this in your head, somehow gathering friends and family and love interests all screaming at you to buy them. XD

 

I have just one - he's been with me for a 1.5 years - I've had many, many other dolls in his lifetime, but never truly bonded so they always ended up leaving. So, it's back to Kale and I.
